- Mfactory and Gear X gen 2 Major issues with pre-engagement problem. Is it worth spending 1800 dollar on a gear set that you not sure is gonna work for you.. I purchased this kit with the thoughts of everything working out perfectly.. instead I did a lot of R&D...
Props for making a detailed video and walking through the issue and solve. A lot of people won't take the time to do this.
I’m glade you noticed the details 💪🏽💪🏽. Thanks
Great info. I only suggest to go ahead and say what the problem is without dragging it out. That whole part about “look at the splines of the shaft, can you guess what can be a problem” part is annoying.
Wow thanks for the heads up
Will keep this in mind for my mr2 build
Keep up the good work
1800 on a gear set is dirt cheap. Fk8 gear sets are 6200 for 1-5 from ppg. However you get what you pay for. No issues with ppg.
that was the most satisfying outcome ever😂 that was probably a major relief for you 🙏🏾
This was 4 years ago did any of the revisions fix this
Get to the point, this video should be about 3 minutes long.
i know I'm kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good site to watch new tv shows online ?
Do ur own video mf
Oh man you saved my pocket I was gonna order the same kit like you but thank god you made a video about the issue.
Stay away from this crap. Save little extra and buy ppg or graf..
This video is smoked it's not gear x.
This is an mfactory kit.
The GEARX kit is twin compatible. Early versions were not designed for twins. I had jeff get the factory to change the spline depth. All of the new ones let the 2nd disk float corectly. All the new gear x kits are fixed and there are 0 issues
No idea about mfactory. They're not the same mfg. Trust me I know.
I've installed 50 of these
Maybe you should have asked before making a video about it. You dont need a special clutch
@@bigdaddyvtec couldn’t have said more true words. Jeff is amazing! The best customer service I have ever experienced as well. My spines look amazing in my input shaft and fit my comp clutch twin disc perfectly. 0 issues here. He shouldn’t have ever grouped gear x with this video based off them running the same gear ratios 🤣 good info on mfactory but terrible misinformation on his part towards Jeff and gear x.
@@TheHondaHub402 I work very closely with jeff
What would you recommend for gears? And how much do they run?
I know you should not have to, but many machine shops respline transmission input shafts and axles for around $75.
i was doing some research on a new set of gears and came across your video, super helpful. thanks! how has the mfactory gears held up so far? do you know if this is the same issue with other twin disc such as competition cluch (i would assume its the same)?
I’ve been hearing a lot of mix reviews on Action Clutch.
Think this would be an issue on a single disc clutch?
No not at all
No it wouldn't have on the early ones.. the early ones again werent made forntwins. The new ones are and you don't have to run this shitty disk
God your presenting this so slowly, most of us can keep up when it's a little quicker. The flywheel dictates where the clutch sits obviously the imput shaft is designed for a different flywheel
very good information thank you 👍
Of course!
Did gear x or mafactory fixed the issue?
No they did not
Nonidea about mfactory.
GEAR x kits have a deeper spline and the input shaft is the same diameter all the way past engagement. His is a nonissue and its stronger
Have they fixed the issue
Yo tengo un problema parecido yo monte mfactory y cuando está montada suena como si fuera una bomba de power steering pero si meto el cloche no suena ni el doble disco ni la transmisión
I'm actually looking into getting another set. Only this time I'm doing the work, I made 688 on my red DC5. I'm surprised I made it through honestly
Thanks for the video my dude. Sub'd
Very good info but you Deff should not be grouping gear x with the issue. Your basing that based off them running the same gear ratio setup as mfactory does. Alot of companies have the same gear ratios but have completely different manufacturers. I run the gear x drag 2 1-4 k series gear set with a 5th gear cuff and a gear x 4.0 final drive. My spines are completely different than these and look the same as oem ones. And my gear set is amazing. If anyone wants proof you can respond to this and I can send direct pictures to eliminate gear x from this conversation lol. Mfactory sold you a flawed input shaft. Not gear x.
I was just wondering the same thing. Im about to het a set of gear x 1-4 also.
Stick with the best my man
I’ve learned thst
I have Action Clutch on my vehicles and I have no problem with them it's a quality made clutch and I love it
Must only be mfactory. It won’t let me post photos but my gear x 1-4 is absolutely not like this. Sure they might have the same gear ratios but that doesn’t make them the same product. Two different companies.
First gen gear x had this issue.. i machined my shaft after breaking one of my clutch disks.. took me a while to figure it out.. and yes it was gear x!
@@kyronfagan i have twin disc,, so if i buy the GearX I’ll still have this problem??? Or did they fixed the problem???
@@jagermeisterNY mine was from the first set... they made a 2nd gen.. so you should be good
Did mfactory reach out to you after you showed the problem to say anything or do anything?
I reached out to them factory directly and then they forwarded me to a company called Synchro tech. Smh
I will never purchase a product they again
@@Bertayham that's s dam shame but good to know, thanks for the information
@@Bertayham synchrotech is the best carbon synchro maker atm.. surprised you dont know who they are.. Now for my own suprise, i didnt know they the ones that make these gears..
Fuck Mfactory. I stopped selling their sets because they broke below power levels rated for and they wouldnt do shitt.
Again gear x and mfactory aware not the same thing m factory just copied Jeff's shit. They dirty likenthat
@@bigdaddyvtec who Jeff?
Ppg and never look back
thanks bro
Different input shafts gear x and m factory
If you say so
he lied about the trans weight haha... only 89lbs
