My hubby did this when we were engaged. He asked if I had a boyfriend. I said no, I have a fiancé. He grumbled and he asked who he was. I said it was him. I pray the smile on his face never leaves my memory.
My parents were married over 60 years when my Dad got dementia. He forgot all his 5 kids, and his wife's name. One morning when they woke up, he turned to her in the bed and said, Do you think we could get married? Mom said, Yes, that would be so nice!! He smiled so big, and was so happy! He couldn't remember her name, but he remembered their love. Makes me cry to think of it. He's been gone 3 years now. What a man he was. And Mom was a rock star during his whole illness.
😢awe... That's bittersweet. my grandma has Alzheimer's and my grandpa had a brain bleed that he never recovered from. He basically has Alzheimer's as well. They do not remember each other at all, and do not remember any of their kids or anybody. They think they are just roommates😢.... . It is the most awful, heart breaking thing to watch them both suffer so much, and for so long. I don't know if I should even go to see them, because they do not know who I am and it upsets them both when I tell them I'm their granddaughter...

It's sooooooo sweet ❤ My ex was a nightmare on anesthesia or even sedatives. Nasty & abusive to me and to the drs & nurses- even blatantly racist. Then he'd tell ppl for years after that any time he had a surgery I didn't take care of him, didn't feed him or get his meds filled, etc. Which obviously wasn't true. Videos like these trigger me and also heal me a little, bc they remind me that not every man is so cruel and demeaning.
My husband of 20 years has epilepsy. He comes around from a seizure and doesn't remember who he is or who I am or anything for hours. What he always does know is that he trusts me explicitly. I'm amazed at his capacity to fall in love with me over and over again. it's a beautiful thing.
I have epilepsy too and my memory is messy and got me in trouble ngl but one thing you can’t forget is the feeling the person you love makes you feel even if they forget themselves or even you… the love is still there

looking at a scary situation this way (both grand mal and absence seizures can be really scary for the one having them but grand mal is scary for everyone involved) with the perspective of "i wouldn't leave you for this bc after the scary part's over i get to see you fall in love w me again every time" is really soothing to me bc i have grand mal and absence seizures (head trauma i was v clumsy)

Apparently when I was coming out of a seizure and blacked out I wouldn't let the nurses at the hospital take my bloody clothes off to put me in a gown, and when they finally convinced me I just kept telling them all how much I love my wife so they better not even think about it. No love is more real than blacked out at the hospital love lol.

I think it really depends on the conditions. A lot of places are feeling more and more pressure to get people out as soon as their vitals clear because their insurance won't pay for an overnight stay and the patient can't afford the difference. (In the US... obviously this does not apply to places with universal or affordable healthcare.) My mother was home the same evening when she had a TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT. It wasn't even late, it was like 4 PM or something.

I was released from surgery after they checked vitals and urinating. I had slurred speech, wobbly legs and had no idea what was going on.

When my husband was on the truth juice, first he asked me who the weird looking guy was (it was him in the mirror), then when we got home he politely asked me for Mel Brooks movies. I obliged, he fell asleep, and I went to turn off the tv and he shot up like a friggin' prairie dog, reached his hand towards the tv, and forlornly wailed, "Nooooo Mel Brooks dont leave meeeeeee. Honey youre a witch, bring him back." and promptly passed back out into sleep.
