I’m definitely making this, I have so many bone in pork chops in my freezer I haven’t cooked because they always always end up tough & dry. I’ve been looking for a good slow cooker recipe for my chops! Thanks to Steve and Miss Sheila for sharing this.
You could put them on a baking sheet, season. Put in oven on 350, let them cook for a long time, turning periodically. They are delicious. 😊. This looks so good 🎉
Consider yourself lucky. My stores do not sell any meat with bones. I don't know why. I suspect it's for some money making reason. All their chicken is divided into separate parts. They probably make more money that way, instead of giving the customer all the parts for one price. Any bone-in meat is more tasty and tender.
I just made these tonight for the first time. I added mushrooms to it. My God!!! Best ever pork chops I have ever had!!! That gravy was OUTSTANDING!!! I'll definitely be making these quite often. RIP Shotgun Red. You definitely have some amazing recipes! Thank you!!! ❤️🙏
Those pock chops looked real good. Love your channel. I like the way you explain things slowly. Help's when trying your recipe. Waiting for the next one. Thanks Sheryl.

I was looking for a recipe for cooking thick Iowa Chops this morning. I looked at several recipes and nothing sounded appealing. I ran across this video and it sounded really good. I didn't have pork gravy but I did have brown gravy. I wasn't sure what kind of red wine to use, so my daughter grabbed us a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. I put baby potatoes in the bottom with sauce over top, added the chops & more sauce on top. My daughter does not like pork! She LOVED this recipe! I saved it and I will definitely be making it again! Thank you!
I am sorry, Ms. Sheila. It sounds like something tragic happened, and I know how I would feel if I lost my husband of 45 years. The way you did your Roo was about three parts bacon grease to one part flour,... I tried doing half and half. I measured it. If you do exactly half it will dry up and get cakey... At least in my frying pan I had to run a little heavier on the bacon grease to keep the roo moving
I sure agree pork cooks up so much more flavorful than beef...maybe the fat content or just the inherent flavor? But I mean, the taste & smell of bacon? Nothing in beef, or chicken, is comparable to that!

Mix well. I usually start heating up the crockpot as I mix . When it's ready I add the chops and cook about 6 to 8 hours.
Browning it first, utilizing all pan residues as you cook each phase, add liquid & then reduce, THEN adding meat back in is the key...& This recipe sure uses a whole bunch of different flavors to it!
Since I gave up the crock pot in the divorce, : ( and havent gotten another, I have adapted the slow cook method to stovetop and it works fine.
