@SmokinandGrillinwithAB, It's 5:30pm and my ORANGE CHICKEN is done. I'll be feasting on this in a few minutes after it cools down. I'll be back to give you an update. Thanks for all you do.
Just as a point of Asian cooking, sesame seed oil always goes on last, actually after you're done cooking and you have removed it from the heat. That is because it is a delicate flavor that the heat will ruin. Think of it like putting pepper on a salad or parmesan on spaghetti. You should try cooking it like that sometime and see if you can notice a difference.
Personally, I don't think the slow cooker will reach a temperature hot enough to degrade the sesame oil. In this case, I might add a teaspoon before and a splash after cooking.
Yes and no, lots of traditional Asian recipes has sesame oil go in at the same time as miran and other oils, as well as the amount he put in I’m sure you can taste it 😂
I seriously made slow cooker orange chicken for the first time ever today! And man do I wish I would have waited for your video. It wasn't terrible, but your recipes...well yeah I just wish I would have waited. You haven't disappointed me ONCE!
7:38 THANK YOU FOR SCRAPING THE SIDES OF THAT POT! Some videos do a less than spectacular job of utilizing every little tid-bit of the recipe. THANK YOU!
I make a mixture of scallions, fresh ginger, and fresh garlic that store in ice cube molds in the freezer. I level up with garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Whenever I make a Chinese dish, those cubes are always ready to use. They would be useful in this dish. Cheers!
Orange Chicken in the crock pot? An answered prayer! Your Ramen recipe and this one are just the kind of dishes -- take-out at home -- that Ive been needing lately! TY A.B.! I want to eat light and cook quickly, and save money. Take out is expensive, and I want to eat this often! Please keep it coming.
I just made this, just added a few things (cayenne pepper, madame jeanette paste, shalots and peanut butter). Served it over brown rice. This is AMAZING! Instant staple dish. Thanks from the Netherlands!
🎉THIS was EXCELENT💯 I have been trying to make this for several months. FINALLY, able to do so.🎉 I couldn't find orange marmalade, no-sugar-added, so I USED PEACH and IT IS DELICIOUS 🙌THANKS AB & FAMILY💞🙏
I just got in the kitchen Ab I’m 24 after 9 yrs of my lady cooking I made my first 3 meals using your recipes beef and broccoli, jambalaya and red beans and rice this one’s this weekend for sure thanks a lot for the motivation to start my cooking journey I wish I started cooking a long time ago ❤
Made this myself with some pan fried garlic green beans as a side last night. Turned out fantastic. Cannot be understated how good the sauce turned out.
I gotta try this one! I love Orange Chicken, but the store bought and often the restaurant variants are more breading than chicken and I don’t like that. This allows control of that. Thanks for sharing!
AB I made this and it was amazing. One thing I did different was to add half a teaspoon of orange flavoring. It gives it a nice orange flavor with the orange marmalade.
The cornstarch is totally gangstah. I used to make corry cheeken with diced chicken breast, and when cooking long enough to get the onions soft, the chicken would end up tough and "overcooked". Coating everything in starch and then browning them, I could cook everything forever and the chicken would stay soooooooooo tender and delicious.
Just made this for dinner and it's a keeper. The only thing I changed was the orange marmalade. I used Bonne Maman because the 1st ingredient in the Smuckers is high fructose corn syrup. The Bonne Maman uses sugar. Everyone loved it. I will definitely make this again. I may double the sauce ingredients because I had chicken left over but no sauce.
Good video! As a pre-diabetic individual who has to limit his "great dishes" to once a week, this is one I'll be trying! Corn starch and orange marmalade are not great for blood sugar, but the proteins of the chicken will help offset it. Put some healthy veggies with this and it will be great! Thanks for the video!
TY, Chef!!! Friends, all I did to make this "heart healthy" was omit the salt, used low sodium soy sauce & used my air fryer, instead of pan/oil frying. AMAZING! Thank you AGAIN, chef!!!!
@continual-improvement374 Cut that too. No frying! Low sodium products. Trust me when I say you can use unsweetened "fruit spread." It's pretty good & no added sugars.
Orange chicken is one of my grandson's favorite foods. He's very picky so finding away to make it ourselves verses buying take out would be awesome. This looks super easy too. Thank you I sure will try this soon
Made it today. I did add a bit more liquid with 1/2 cup of soy and water with a few drops of sesame oil cause I wanted more sauce. Amazing!!!! Thank you AB.
Thank you for the easy recipe for my crockpot. I love some orange chicken. Your recipe will save me a lot of money from buying from the Chinese restaurants.
I made this last night and my family really liked it. I used the whole jar of marmalade because i had 3 pounds of chicken breast. It was a little too sweet for me but my family disagreed. I like more savory than sweet though.
Thanks @ab. Your range and variety set you apart. Some folks eat to live, others live to eat. I think we are in the same group. Peace and love to you and yours
Thank you for this awesome recipe... I can't wait to make it! Also, while watching your video I was experiencing Crock Pot envy. That's the nicest one I've ever seen!
Looks amazing! So glad you didn't use tap water to rinse it or boil in the tap water! So many channels use tap water, the tap water here is putrid, it is terrible showering in it!
Looks incredible. I'll have to give this a try. Maybe toss in a few dried hot chilis. Maybe a little orange zest at the end? Gotta love the slow-cooker!
I will have to try it. I usuallyake my chicken in the air fryer amd its coated to be crispy then i put it in a bowl amd toss it with the orange sauce and serve. I like the fact it dorsnt habe the extra calories from the coating. I thought the crock pot would make it all watery, but yours wasnt so i am excited. Thanks
This looks so good and yummy.I have never made this recipe before and can't wait to make this it looks so easy.Thank you for sharing this recipe Looks yummy and delicious yum yum💕
Omg! I just found you. You rock! Thank you so much for the clear, calm instructions. Thank goodness tomorrow is market day. Hubby (and I) definitely want orange chicken this weekend.
I am an omelet master thanks to you. Your smothered chicken was amazing, and this looks delicious. I eat a lot of chicken, so having some go to recipes to change things up is most welcome. Would fresh squeezed OJ work instead of marmalade? Thanks for all your great videos.
You must have known that I went to the store and picked up something different when Smuckers was bogo at Publix. I bought orange marmalade, just for something different, then I come across this recipe!......dinner tomorrow for sure.

It's a Chef Master Butane Burner @@yeayeasautoadventures

You should do both imo, some in the beginning and then finish it at the end with a few drops.
I seriously made slow cooker orange chicken for the first time ever today! And man do I wish I would have waited for your video. It wasn't terrible, but your recipes...well yeah I just wish I would have waited. You haven't disappointed me ONCE!
Just go on and say it😂😂 How bad was it?😂😂😂

@@elainefagin513 same here. I save the moist bits left over for sandwich spread. 😂❤ That's what the little freezer containers on the door are for.

😂😂😂😂
exactly,
Made this myself with some pan fried garlic green beans as a side last night. Turned out fantastic. Cannot be understated how good the sauce turned out.
That's what I was thinking! We used to get orange chicken with garlic green beans on the side when we lived in S CA. Perfect!
Today is my second time making this, my family loves it! Thanks A.B. for sharing your amazing skills.
I gotta try this one! I love Orange Chicken, but the store bought and often the restaurant variants are more breading than chicken and I don’t like that. This allows control of that. Thanks for sharing!
When I make this I am going to use chicken thighs and double the sauce because I like a lot of sauce to spoon over my rice. It looks so good!
I have made the cornbread, lasagna, and Cajun pasta so far, and I do not like to cook. My family LOVES me because of you, sir. Thank you!😂

Heart healthy? By cutting salt + olive oil and keeping the 1/2 jar of marmalade?
@continual-improvement374 Cut that too. No frying! Low sodium products. Trust me when I say you can use unsweetened "fruit spread." It's pretty good & no added sugars.
I am sure he already knows, he ain’t just grill’n it, he is also kill’n it ! 👨🏽🍳👀
i have made it today, still in the crockpot, smells delicious. can't wait to taste this in 30 min.

Not sure where you are but we have the same problem so we have filters on our shower showerheads. Definitely feel the difference 😊

Looks good, will be trying, I always use a liner in the crock pot, hope it doesn’t change the consistency 🤞🏼
Stop using liners, nothing but chemicals leaching into your food.
