Very refreshing walk. I've watched this 3rd time, very tranquil and unspoiled Most of the England countryside is well preserved. I appreciate that very much. Thanks !
sorry to be off topic but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tricks you can give me!
A beautiful early morning walk Richard. Thank you. I used to cycle these routes as a boy many decades ago, Possibly one of the most interesting towns in the UK. I must return and take my artists oils and easel and take advantage of the Dingle and surrounding beauty.
Thanks Richard, your walk a long the river Severn in Shrewsbury was very interesting, I like the way you describe the English bridge and the weeping willow trees, it really looks very peaceful and tranquil, it takes my breath away when I see them beautiful old buildings in the town, well done Richard for making these lovely videos.
Hi Timothy, thank you for your wonderful comment - you have made my day. I made that walk last year, and I can't wait for better weather to make more better quality videos.
Beautiful town us Shrewsbury Richard ,i use too live there few years ago ,now live in Ludlow another beautiful town .so much history . Have just stumbled on your vids and i love them ,keep them coming .👍
I am driving up to Shrewsbury this weekend to have a good look around with the idea of relocating there.. moved back to Horsham west sussex a few months ago from Canada and Horsham is not what it once was.. You made the best videos on Shrewsbury by the way really enjoyed watching them
Don't tell too many people about Shropshire Richard, best kept secret and all that - ha! A lovely morning walk around the river and I look forward to seeing more of your Shrewsbury reports.
I wouldn't be surprised. Lepers and thieves were 'expelled' from the town by throwing them over the town walls somewhere between Swan Hill road and the Town Walls Tower. If you have a look over the wall just down from there it's a fair drop!
Accused witches were once drowned in the dingle, and if they survived they would be swiftly burnt at the steak ( so local legend would have you believe).
Absolutely stunning! So serene. Just a peaceful little walk down the River Severn. Loved all the weeping willows. Thought it funny when you were showing the bridge I literally said how "picturesque" right as you did.😄 The other side of the bridge w/ the church steeple in the background - you were talking about all the folks that run & walk right there - all I thought thinking was how many people had taken wedding photos there.👰🤵
So many memories of walking that very same route and, after leaving school, riding my bike along that very same route, from Abbots Road in Monkmoor, over the bridge just down from the Weir, along the river path in the Quarry, and across Porthill Bridge, and up into Copthorne. Next time you're on that walk, Richard, say hello to the town for me! Regards Mark A Shropshire Lad.
This is how I came across you Richard., by watching this video. Love the place. Can't wait till summer to get back down there, keep up the good videos my mate 👍👍
Hi John, wherever you're relocating from you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer place than Shrewsbury ( unless you move too near the Severn as it tends to flood fairly often ). I live in Whitchurch which is 20 miles north of Shrewsbury and myself and my wife love our county town. It's got a low crime rate, the people are friendly, as you can see the views of nature and architecture are beautiful. When walking around the town centre always look upwards as the buildings are lovelier than the shops and businesses underneath. Another thing is it's location as you can get north and south quickly and easily. There are lots of great pubs and restaurants ( hopefully there still will be post pandemic ). It has the second best flower show after Chelsea, a nice theatre right on the river by the Welsh bridge and the quarry that Richard mentioned is a beautiful park which Percy Thrower used to work on. All it lacks is a decent football team !!!! Even though I've supported them for far too long. Hope that helps your decision - i doubt you'll regret it, good luck, Neil.
I used to cycle home from work along this route when I worked at Morrison's on the night shift. It is so tranquil early in the morning. Unfortunately prone to flooding
I moved to Shrewsbury after leaving the RAF and because my ex wife was from the town. I made it my home ( I'm from Windsor)., although I now live in Telford. Shropshire is such a beautiful county.
I attended art school, next to the English bridge, many years ago. One day, I enticed a lovely girl named Claire under the arch where you are at 5:35 in the video, and we kissed. My misspent youth!
The light in Shropshire seems always to be very lovely. If I could go and just see it once, I'd count myself lucky indeed.
Really enjoyed that video! I used to live in Shrewsbury so it brought some memories back!
That looks like a wonderful walk. I visited Shrewsbury in 2017 and 2019 but didn't do that walk. I must go back!
Oh, how I'm homesick for Shrewsbury. How I love her so.
It is a beautiful town.

Yes I remember the walk well - one of the early ones of my new walking videos. I must do some more early morning walks in the Spring.

Nice job again Rich.Lots of info and a great add for G.B.
Thank you for this walkabout intro to Shrewsbury. We will be visiting there in March and look forward to following in your footsteps.
The whole stretch around Shrewsbury is lovely - great fun and lots of lovely buildings in the background too.
I think there was a plague pit in the Quarry...Thought I'd share that pearl of wisdom
Thanks for the share!

It is a very popular walk. Not hard to see why!

Good morning - I used an old Hero 2 Gopro on a Khiyun phone gimbal the Smooth 3. Here it is in action: ruclips.net/video/GQJ7PRhEbNE/видео.html
I used to do that walk EVERY day - snow, ice, rain... no impediment. I can't watch.
