For the Tank with the Sponge filter .. if it's too pound (I assume you are talking about the air pump) you can get the green air pump that Aquariumcoop.com sells it's USB power but comes with an adapter so you can plug to the wall i use that for my room absolutely quiet... you can barley hear it .. check it out :p

Those two petsmart plants are Alternanthera reineckii var. ‘roseafolia’ the red one! And the other is Proserpinaca, commonly called mermaidweed
