    I like both of these vehicles, but obviously we see where I’m at. I agree with you on the fact that it would be CRAZY to have both. I think we have a Type S joining the MOC soon and the best way to find out which is the better on the track I guess we’ll have to see. Great review I’m glad you got to get exclusive access to the Type S . Probably the first on RUclips to have both the Type S and Type R line up together. LETS GOO 🔥🔥🔥‼️

      Thanks brother I think Savagese had the both of them together first but I get what you mean they are a huge channel compared to mine that is currently on the rise alongside the whole MOC. I'm excited for Que to get his and for you to add on your next vehicle to your channel and to see what Bluprint does as well, the next couple of months are going to be extremely interesting.

    I'm 43 with two kids and in the process of buying the type s. I love the car, it's a better street car that can be tracked. The type R is a better track car because the suspension is 20% stiffer in all the different modes. But watch savagegeese they tracked the type s and dyno it, it has more torque because of the tune an hp. He has a type R and says that when the tires wear down on both cars after a few laps on the track the type S probably could win the race because it is showing to be faster in the straight aways already. Either way both are great cars you can't lose. Oh an the type R will def holds its value better because there will be less and they're badged like you said.

    • @RaceCarFriends
      @RaceCarFriends  Год назад

      Agreed, something to take note of though even though the suspension is tighter in the Honda, the seats in the Acura aren't as comfortable to sit in, the seats actually feel harder and stiffer lol (The felt weird typing but it's true).

    So I’ve owned a 2018 type R for 3 years and drove only on R mode. I just upgrade to a type S. Basically it doesn’t corner as good as the Type R. Maybe 20-25% reduction. Confort hands down amazing. But coming from someone that handling is more important… ima try to upgrade suspension so I can have the best of both worlds… keep u posted

    Bro how can you not talk about the suspension. Litterally everyone who drove the FL5 says its too bouncy. Suspension in the type R is way too stiff, exaust sound is atrocious compared to Type S, interior built quality is cheaper so you get more road noise when cruising on the highway, no lumbar adjustement for your lower back, the fake engine noise from the cabin sound like a lawnmower and its lacking some tech features (heated seats, etc). In my opinion, the strength of the Type R are the notoriety of the name, the trunk (hatchback), the headroom in the back is better than in the Type S, the 30 pounds less, and it might be better in term of reliability in the long run. I have personnally made 3 different deposits for a Type-R here in Canada but I think I will go with the Type-S since im not the biggest Track guy and the car itself might be a little bit less rare since its only sold in North America compared to the Type-R.

      TBH I've only felt the bounciness in R mode and on certain roads, but it drives pretty smoothly in sport mode, the Type R definitely has some flaws, but the amount of fun I have driving it makes up for the little things it's missing.

Acura could have done so much more with this car, When they announced this car i was ecstatic to buy one and once the car specs came out i went in a whole other direction. its s 5.7 second car lol. i realize its not all about the specs, i undertstand the legacy that comes with the nameplate but for the price there is so many better sports sedans to chose from.

    Type R is my choice. Type S is a nice alternative if you don’t want to pay crazy markup. Type R is subtle with sleek body style. I want a smaller sporty hatch which civic is not that either but integra looks like a big sedan like any other Acura cars. Doesn’t look anything like a hatchback. Type R is built in Japan. Not a fan of the wheels and although it doesn’t look bad, it looks like an afterthought with tacked on fender flares and other body parts. Interior features are nice but doesn’t look as good as type r interior. Type r is very simple and elegant vs type s has too much going on and busy. Exterior is same as the interior. Someone said if you are under 30 you get the type r and if you are over 30 get type S. I feel that type s looks more for younger crowd as it has more over styling going on like FK8 with louder exhaust

    You point out that Type S isn't a hatchback, there is actually type S lift back variant, so you actually have options to choose from. And none of these cars are true hatchbacks, they are long family sedans same size as camry and Accord and k5, they just have lift back. Type S for the win for me. Most people will never take type R to the track so the seats don't really matter, plus you can always do driver seat swap to a bucket seat if you taking it to track which is going to be rare since everyone is so precious about their cars they don't want to beat them up so they going to daily them and seats in Type R aren't great for that. Another thing you mentioned that since Type S doesn't come with navigation and if you get lost and no cell signal, well Google maps and apple maps work of gps not cell so if you download maps you'll be good to go. You'd get lost even more using honda GPS. And you get carbon mirror caps which is nice touch. It's much better over all vehicle. No matter how hard you trying to justify it, we all know that Type S is upgraded Type R

But nothing is perfect so it's awesome that both vehicles exist I feel like right now the Type R is more for the track focused person and the Type S is for the business professional that likes to go fast and maybe hit the track every now and then as well.

      @@RobertoMezquiaJr I have 21 type R I bought it because I love the way it looks. It’s very subjective when it comes to how a car looks to different person. By comparing FL5 and FK8, I prefer FK8 because I own it, lol… but if I can turn back time, I will still get a FK8 because I just like the way 10th gen looks. If your point of getting one of these car is because of features, I think you have many other alternative than Honda at similar price tag. To me, I buy what I like, the features will always be the second consideration. If put aside FK8, comparing FL5 and DE5, I will take the FL5.
