    I have the 2021 model. Got the skid plate, bigger DMO pegs, precision motorcycle rear rack and about to put the M35 top box on it. I don't think the top box will be too big and plus I'm making detachable. At about 595 miles so far and this weekend after the last 5 miles doing its first oil change at 600. The XT 250 is a really nice bike and I'm enjoying it.

    Nice riding. 66-year-old old hare scramble guy who's switched just the street bikes. I've been looking at the XT mainly cuz of seat height and lightweight. You make it look like you can still have fun on it.

      I loved the bike so much that I regretted selling it. I literally just bought a new 2023 XT250 this week!

    Have to chuckle since I'm 5'7" and employed all your mods except for the shift lever. And they all were worthwhile.. You can add a bit of fork oil and or change it out with a thicker oil to help the front. Not much you can do for the rear except crank the spring. Or spend a lot to change it out.. Another inexpensive one is a 14T sprocket which is the best bang for the buck ( IMO ) anyone could make.. roughly $ 20.00 when I bought mine last year from Ebay.. Fritz Co makes them.. No, I don't work or get anything from them, just trying to help out.

    What tires are you running? I can tell those aren't stock. I like how knobby they look compared to the stock ones.

    Can anyone explain to me why no Yamaha XT250 owners EVER make a video about performance mods? You can hear about hand guards, luggage racks, foot pegs, tires, grips, decals - everything in the freaking world except modifications that increase torque and horsepower.

    • @PQR5CHE
      @PQR5CHE  3 года назад +6

      Scott that is because there is hardly any gain to be made. The cost to make this bike faster doesn’t make sense.
      The usable power and torque on a stock XT250 are actually really fun.

      @@PQR5CHE you were doing some pretty aggressive riding in this video ! That little XT250 can get it on ! Impressive !
      What exhaust system are you running there ? Sounds really healthy ( that along with a K&N air filter should add a little HP right ?)
      I have a 2022 XT250 coming in March , I can’t wait . Just trying to find videos online to see how I can improve upon the bike . Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    • @theanalmarauder
      @theanalmarauder 4 месяца назад

      Only one performance mod and it's the power commander. There is no o2 sensor so changing the exhaust will only decrease performance.

    I’ve noticed the little ugly front fender just about an inch or two above the front wheel on these bikes. I see you removed yours.
    Any issues with taking it off? Or extra mud flinging onto the engine?

    • @PQR5CHE
      @PQR5CHE  3 года назад

      No, zero issues. Had to take it off due to the bigger tires.

    Would please advise the part# for the Zeta Revolver Shift Lever? I see this on Revzilla, but it shows it does not fit on a 2020 XT250. Where do you purchase yours?

      @@PQR5CHE I’d like to know your thoughts on the Kawasaki KLX 250 in comparison to the Yamaha XT250 . Other than the low seat height ( the primary reason I like the XT250) and of course just the simplicity of it being air cooled low maintenance etc...

    • @PQR5CHE
      @PQR5CHE  3 года назад +1

      @@NorthwoodsNomad KX250X is a whole different animal. Double the power, way lighter, very loud, extremely short geared, way better suspension, basically a full on MX bike with a sidestand. I do miss the easy mellow character of the XT250 motor though. The maintenance schedule on the KX250X is insane as well. Gonna be an expensive journey..
      It’s super fun to ride however.
