Humanity thinks it has reached into the depths of existence, when it is barely beginning to scratch the surface of an endless realm of reality beyond what we can conceive.
Beautifully said! Humanity's knowledge is indeed just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the vastness of reality. Every discovery reminds us of how much more there is to explore and understand.
Here’s a fact that cannot be explained. Energy has always existed never having a beginning. Atoms have electrons that continue to spin and don’t run out of energy in effect having perpetual motion leading one to wonder where did the energy come from. We accept that energy or something has always existed and must ask could someone have always existed? Some may say that life spontaneously generated by chance, but examining simple life isn’t simple and the first cell to live on would have to have learned how to divide and replicate itself on its first try or die off.
Excellent points paulmarc, in my opinion. Not only human life...but literally everything else (Reality, as we understand it) required Creation and Intelligence it would seem. I don't believe we get there by chocking such a beautifully fine tuned Universe(s) with all the Laws and Life up to mere chance and nothingness...God still would have had to throw the dice.
It is not CONSCIOUSNESS that evolves. Rather, it is that revealed by the CONSCIOUSNESS which evolves. CONSCIOUSNESS is ever perfect, pure and complete ('poornam'). What ever we experience is projections in the CONSCIOUSNESS displaying diverse qualities called GUNA due to veiling on account of the degree of ignorance we as individuals possess. Lives of all denominations is a constant struggle to regain this perfect state of CONSCIOUSNESS as a direct experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful perspective! The idea that consciousness is ever-perfect and what evolves are its manifestations is a profound viewpoint rooted in Vedanta. I appreciate the connection you draw between this philosophy and modern science, like relativity and quantum mechanics-it's a fascinating intersection. While I personally view consciousness as something deeply tied to our experiences and possibly evolving alongside them, your perspective adds an enriching dimension to the discussion. I'll definitely look into the book you recommended-thanks for the suggestion!
I used to believe that life was a random event, and the laws of physics for that matter, but further thinking about the unique aspect of life and existence one can come to the conclusion that it is rather naive to believe that out of randomness intelligence originates, not the kind of intelligence that we usually might think about, but the intelligence inherent on the organization of matter to become particles and more complex compounds until yielding a life form. The Laws of physics are NOT random; but rather very well-strcutured mathematically measurable rules that we can turn into equations. Let's begin with LIFE. Life is not near perfect, but EXXTREMELY perfect: DNA! Within DNA, the capability of adaptability is contained, ensuring that life can adapt as best as posible to its environment, but not only that, but also containing the ability of passing on to the next life forms of the same lineage its adaptive capabilities in the form of genes. Life contains all the capabilities to ensure ITS CONTNUITY, because Life's only purpose is ti thrive; if a species is no good enough for life, it'll disappear; that also applies to those containing intelligence; life allows for a FREE WILL, giving us the ability to choose, if we chose wrong, those very choices will condemn us by our own actions. But what is wrong? ANYTHING THAT HINDERS THE CONTINUANCE OF LIFE IS WRONG. Man is not the miracle of GOD (not the biblical God, but the supreme source of everything, call it ENERGY, or what you will), LIFE IS ITS MIRACLE, and with humanity or without it, life will continue. Life contain what is necessary for it to improve and be better and better each eon. Disease, wars, hatred, are all means of pest control to ensure that---IFF we make the choice-- it will gradually rid us of its agenda of continuity. The Laws of physics,; I liked the idea you put out there when you said," Is the Universe alive?" it is a very interesting thought. IS intelligence limited to tiny little beings such as we are, or is there a complex energy network that is ubiquitous and that is self--aware, which contains physical laws that we can't even imagine, a physical universe beyond our perceptional abilities? I know FOR A FACT, that physics, as we know it, is just a tiny door in an infinite labyrinth of truths. I have been witnessed to events that changed my mind on the subject of spirituality... I am not a deist, but I KNOW that death is not the end; I KNOW that the future has something to do with either life after death or some unconscious ability for us to tap into it. I SAW an event happened an be predicted to the tee, where the odds would have been at least one in one sexdecillion... LITERALLY. HOW CAN THAT HAPPEN! My aunt, during the pandemic, was going through a harsh economic moment, and she had a dream with my grandmother, and in the dream my grandmother told her what numbers to play, what day to play, what lottery to play and exactly a the precise moment, she told me and she won $470K and I won $124K... put that into statistical probabilities... it does not add up. This is the other event: We were at a funeral, people were saying that the funeral floral arrangement had moved, my uncle's wife came and stood in front of it, and and she said that it was probably the air, but that those thigs dont happen, as she was saying that she moved forward and pointed to floral arrangement and moved forward and laughed at the people that were scared; as she was laughing, the floral arrangement moved about 5ft towards her, when she felt the thing touch her, she screamed and everyone ran ou, we were 16 people thee, we all saw it come forward and then moved back to were it had been priorly... illusion?... NO!! We know nothing, our universe is the surface of a bigger reality... I know there is a logic to it, but we'll never know it; not with this primitive body and mind.

I agree that humanity is only beginning to uncover the vast complexities of existence, and your perspective on life’s adaptability and the intelligence embedded in nature’s organization is fascinating. I won't comment on your personal experiences. I respect all perspectives and thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Your question is thought-provoking and aligns with the themes discussed in the video. From a scientific perspective, if humans evolved gradually, the "first baby" would have been nurtured by its evolutionary ancestors-beings who already exhibited caregiving behaviors necessary for survival. However, if life is seen through the lens of design or inevitability, the emergence of nurturing instincts could be viewed as part of a broader, purposeful plan or a natural outcome of life’s progression. Alternatively, if one considers a purely philosophical or theological interpretation, the existence of the "first baby" and its caregiver might represent a symbolic event rather than a literal one, raising questions about the interplay of chance, necessity, and design. What do you think best explains this fascinating mystery?
Our origins may go back billions of years, making us some of the oldest forms in the universe. In my book, "Origins of Life's Sensoria," I described this as a series of scientific discoveries.
Finding a needle in a haystack... much easier that finding life on a distant planet... things ar so far apart in the universe, that if we randomly shoot a bullet through the universe; that bullet most likely will never hit anything.
You're absolutely right-the vast distances in the universe make finding life incredibly challenging. However, science has been narrowing the search with tools like exoplanet detection and studying habitable zones. It's like trying to find the right haystack first before searching for the needle!
I agree. I think of the famous Pale Blue Dot image. We have found a lot of exoplanets but most are much bigger than Earth. Our moon could play a critical role too. And do we need to find a planet that is slightly tilted on it's axis like ours is? It is what determines seasonal changes, right? I don't think it's all an accident. You know the Grand Tack hypothesis? We keep finding a lot of Hot Jupiters. That makes me think Jupiter was on it's way towards the sun. Possibly created the asteroid belt? I don't think it's all a coincidence but I do respect other's opinions and like to hear them. I try to keep an open mind because I know I am not always right. Actually, the older I get the more I realize I have been wrong a lot! lol

It aligns with the notion that the universe is ever-expanding, with new stars, planets, and possibilities emerging all the time. The concept of "new space being created" adds an intriguing twist-are you suggesting the fabric of space-time itself is dynamic, shaped by some form of conscious creation? I’d love to hear more about how you see this process unfolding and your role as the "senior foundation creator." It’s a perspective worth exploring further!
Life exists by natural occurrence in the habitable zone... anywhere in the cosmos. One thing is sure like humans we are living in temporary space and time!!😂😂
The idea that life and evolution are inherent outcomes of the universe’s laws aligns with the concept of "necessity" in nature. From the self-organizing properties of molecules to the adaptability of life in extreme environments, the universe seems primed to foster complexity and growth. Whether by design or natural inevitability, life is truly a remarkable force of the cosmos!
Your skepticism is understandable, as the apparent scarcity of life seems to challenge the idea of spontaneous origins. However, the hypothesis of abiogenesis-the spontaneous emergence of life from non-living matter-doesn't claim that life should form everywhere, all the time. It requires highly specific conditions, such as the right combination of chemicals, energy sources, and environmental stability, which may be exceedingly rare even in a vast universe. Moreover, the absence of evidence for other life forms could be a result of observational limits. For instance, microbial life may exist but remain undetected, or it might have arisen and disappeared in environments unlike Earth's. While coincidences are unlikely, in a universe as vast as ours, even rare events become plausible given enough time and opportunities. What are your thoughts on the possibility that life exists elsewhere but has not yet been discovered?
A beautiful wish! While physical life may be finite, the impact we leave on others, the memories we create, and the knowledge we share can last far beyond our time. In a way, that’s a form of immortality. And who knows what the future of science and technology might hold?
