Arrgh! But that's a potential accident we all live with. Like you say, with 9 litres that's a major accident. You were right to keep this out of the living space 👍👍👍👍👍
The shelf to hold the print tray is a good idea, although it seems like you would always have to keep it topped up with cleaning solution though to use it, otherwise it will miss the top portion. Also looks like it needs a bit of work to make sure it can't fall down like it did for you. Having to fish it out would get old pretty quick I think
Looks useful and the price isn't as bad as I was expecting. I made my true 360* UV enclosure and ultrasonic cleaner for about $85 US, and while they aren't all one unit, It'd be real easy to make it so. Honestly looking at it now, it's kind of shaped like a giant Crazy Popper popcorn maker if anyone is familiar with those (might even steal one of those for my next enclosure actually!). Anyway, the price is the big selling point along with being somewhat universal, though to that end, there seems to be more room for improvement on little finicky things that would annoy a guy with daily or weekly use.
The only thing I don't like is that the new basket has bigger spacing. I wish the spacing was a bit closer so that smaller models could still be washed there without fear of them falling through the basket gaps. Am I wrong about this?
That's true. I will say very small items will probably get buffed around like crazy in this powerful wash. Someone below sensibly suggested that Anycubic should have added variable speed for that very reason. I'd recommend fitting a simple fine wire gauze to the bottom. That will stop them falling through... but them may get blasted away.
Have a look at the cheap oil pumps (hand operated) which are normally use to pump oil out of car engines. Might be suitable instead of trying to pour the used wash solution out of the container. Less potential mess.

You added a line somewhere that the plate holder can be placed in a lower position so one doesn't need to fill the tank to the top? I just received my machine today, as did a number of users in the Saturn group on facebook. We were wondering what the "trick" is.
I don't recall saying that to be honest Markus. The plate holder sits on a recess high up the tank, though it can fall in. The basket, however, always goes to the bottom. Some plates, like the Mono X, happily span the top of the basket too ( shorturl.at/aKP45 ). So depending on where you place things, , you only need to fill to the required height 😁
@@vogmanalright thank you sir, I must have misinterpreted that then. Good review...would a couple of small round magnets on edge of reflective sheet help keep reflective plate down....or would that interfere with workings
@@vogman just getting in to printing for model railway stuff ....quick question is print quality affected by slight vibrations ie working on work bench....just trying to find right location for hardware
Hi VOG, a question about washing castable resins (Power Resins ZERO in my case), after letting the print drip off as needed on the build plate, is it necessary to wash the print right away? The Power Resins people suggested washing just before I am about to cast, but in some cases, it might be a week or so before I can get to it. How long can you go without washing the print until it might deteriorate in quality (if that does happen). Thank you!
I wash immediately after printing. This prevents any accidental UV curing taking place and spoiling your work, plus it means the part is dry enough to handle. The real issue I suspect you have isn't washing, it's time. Castable resins don't like air. They generally absorb it and this can have an adverse effect on the casting (did you see my Minecraft Ring video - I experienced this issue there ruclips.net/video/FEdlWzhqPVg/видео.html ) Ideally print in a timeframe where you can sprue and invest as soon as possible. If you can't manage this, place your print in an airtight container (as small as possible) and maybe throw in one of those silica gel packets that seem to come with all electronics. This will keep your print fresher for longer. 😁
@@vogman OK, Thank you for the advice! I need to go to a casting business to get my work done (going to buy all my equipment for a shop soon!) So, it may be a week for this first round of prints (might just hold off on them all together until next week), but I am going to try and aim for a day or two max until I get them casted, ideally printing the waxes the night before. I've gone and watched your Minecraft ring video, and I will definitely make sure to store my prints airtight. Also, will you be reviewing ZERO anytime soon, preferably on the Elegoo Mars 2 PRO? (if you haven't guessed, that’s the printer I went out and bought after watching your review video! :) ) Your tips are amazing so I am looking forward to any insights you may have with this type of resin (not to mention the when you unveil the mystery resin!) Thank you for your time and take care! - Tanner
New to this stuff but for really making sure some of the larger stuff is cured, is anything stopping one from putting the reflective material all over the inside of the case?
As a fellow resident of the UK and looking to get into 3D printing. Does anyone have advice for getting rid of the water that you use to wash the prints? I have an elegoo mercury in my amazon cart ready so I'm just wondering if i just need to wash the prints in IPA and not water or do i wash them in both? Cheers
It's all down to the resin you choose. Most resins require IPA for cleaning, some are water based and some speciality resins require different alcohols. Generally speaking if it's for normal printing and doesn't say water, you can pretty much guess that it's IPA 😁 As for cleaning the water (very sensible point) I would recommend watching my video here ruclips.net/video/5U1IshPqmak/видео.html and then: 1) For IPA, recycle as the video suggests 2) If water, clean as if it was IPA and once you're rid of all the residue you can manage, pour the filtered and cleaned water onto a concrete area to allow the sun and wind to evaporate naturally. If there are any traces left behind, these will be miniscule.
Unfortunately that's impossible to say as every print is different. If you're using a Wash n Cure machine, these are very good and get most of the IPA washed off first time. I generally then remove the supports which tends to reveal a little more uncured resin, so I go with another quick wash, then spray with virgin IPA.
Very interesting! May I ask you the height (cm) without the top section (from the rotating base to the hinge)? Because I didn't understand if is 245mm height with the top section tilted down or when all is full vertical :D
Sorry buddy I don't have that to hand, but the tank height is 355mm very top to very bottom, including the lid fitted. I'd estimate the lid to be 15mm thickness at best and maybe allow 25mm for clearance of the impeller. I hope this helps 😁
@@vogman Thank you! I asked because I wonder if a 20cm height print (max for Saturn) or 25 (for Mono X) allow to use the last top section tilted down and this way we can fully cure the tallest print also from the top :) It's a smart solution, btw!
@@vogman does the Anycubic Wash & Cure Plus station beeps loud after each startup or when choosing a time /programm? It does not have magnets for the plate/ or the cleaning bucket, right? So it should be a silent machine unlike the small elegoo mercury plus station
The nerve of these companies sending you these things and taking up all your valuable space. Look, as my favourite youtuber I'm prepared to take one for the team and let you send me that awful, unwieldy, huge wash and cure station and get it out of your way. It's the least I can do... ;D Great video, Jeff! :) No pre-order for the UK, great, Brexit - the gift that keeps on giving... :(
the best machine made by anycubic was the first of the smaller versione. It was in metal! If you work with resins you must use metal tools, not plastic. The new big one looks nice but 250usd (compared to the quality of the v1) is just ridiculous
I've never seen an original Photon. I've heard stories about the metal build and the love users had for it. Unfortunately all those metal parts made life hard on Anycubic when cheaper models hit the market, so they had to adapt. BUT I think they've kept a good eye on quality 😁
6:52 - As long as the cleaning solution remains clean enough. Dirty cleaning solution? Cure it, filter it - and re-use :ø) Can you cure the uncured resin in the large container, or do you need to transfer it to smaller bottles? It doesn't look that way to me, but I could be wrong. In my mind it would be a lot easier to cure the resin, let it sink to the bottom and then pour off the clean top layer - before having to filter the remaining liquid through a strain. Ah, the joy of *not* having any of those resin-printers ;ø(
@@vogman - and hopefully cheaper, especially the resins seems very expensive. I look forward to the day when it is possible to do 3D printing the StarTrek replicator way. De-materialize old scrap, materialize something useful. 😁

It's the least I can do... ;D
Great video, Jeff! :)
No pre-order for the UK, great, Brexit - the gift that keeps on giving... :(
Can you use it for water washable resin at all?
Yes... and more safely as there'd be no flammable IPA 😁😁😁
Are you kidding me? I ordered the 2.0 yesterday with the mono x.
Eeek...
the best machine made by anycubic was the first of the smaller versione.
Cure it, filter it - and re-use :ø)
Can you cure the uncured resin in the large container, or do you need to transfer it to smaller bottles? It doesn't look that way to me, but I could be wrong.
In my mind it would be a lot easier to cure the resin, let it sink to the bottom and then pour off the clean top layer - before having to filter the remaining liquid through a strain. Ah, the joy of *not* having any of those resin-printers ;ø(
Resin printers are amazing... and they're only going to get better 😁
@@vogman - and hopefully cheaper, especially the resins seems very expensive.
I look forward to the day when it is possible to do 3D printing the StarTrek replicator way. De-materialize old scrap, materialize something useful. 😁
I'd settle for a shuttlecraft and 7 of 9 😁😁😁
Dang I just bought the 2.0 for $99 :(
Always the way isn't it... 😁😁😁
I'm first!! I'm first!! Real comment after I've watched the video... :)
Sorry Dan... not first. But first in spirit 😁😁😁
First to view!
Many thanks 😁
Wow. Highly desirable and terrifying. Substitute the words isopropyl alcohol with gasoline.
Maybe Dawn and warm water?
Yes... lots of care needed 😁
Yay once again we reap the benefits of leaving the European Union..... 😡
Looks good, I'd stick the sticker down then put a piece of paper over it when using the wash to protect it
Alas, you're correct
Good suggestion!
