Creality UW-02 Wash & Cure Station (HONEST review) - for 3D Resin Printers

  • I've reviewed a few large Wash & Cure machines and they're all pretty much the same, so when Creality suggested their UW-02 was a little different, I was happy to review it on my channel. And sure enough they're correct, there are a number of differences in this unit that for me place it above the others that I've reviewed.

    Nice review Geoff. It does seem a bit strange that the curing speeds are so fast. Forget a rubber ring, Creality should be providing racing harnesses for the prints! Hopefully they dialed back all the speed settings in the latest model.

    • @vogman
      @vogman  Год назад +2

      Yeah, a cock up all round that one. I think the speed is there for washing, which is a very clever idea, but through laziness or poor thinking this wasn't turned off for curing. Silly. My guess is the third speed now slows the turntable down to a more typical curing speed. All the best Dan 😁

    I've had mine for about 6 months or so, I love it!! I got it just after I got my Halot One Plus is the build plate wouldn't fit into the UW-01. I also do a pre-wash in a small tub first before using the machine, that has kept my tank meths fairly clean. Also I've just noticed the mesh on my cage goes almost up to the handle unlike the cage on yours

    Thanks for the review! As for the wash/cure station, I do like most of it, and I have been happy with Creality products in the past (love the extra parts) .. but having no UV LEDs' above/below is a deal-breaker for me 🤷‍♂

    • @vogman
      @vogman  Год назад +1

      Just one thought for you Ronin... even those with under-turntable UVs have only a small array which only lights up the print maybe 20 degrees of every 360. For that reason, I always rotate the print anyway. Given this, does it matter?
      Just a thought buddy. The choice is always your 😁👍👍👍

    All curing stations do not lack refective surfaces.
    I worked with an expensive pro-machine for a year.
    That thing was painted white and all inside surfaces possible were covered in mirrors.
    No windows, and rows of big lights absolutely everywhere, including the lid.
    It's a headscratcher why hobby curing stations with their weak lights are all made with light absorbing insides.

      @@vogman It was funny on turbo mode, watching your print spin. It's happened a couple of times with my original Anycubic wash and cure. I love the fact that the impeller is sunken so the basket is a perfect fit.

    Just to point it out, the 02 have two speed buttons while the 01 have three. I just got mine recently due to the size and the sale that is currently going on. If I am wrong, correct me please. $170 beats paying $220.

    I've had this since it's release and it's been great, the one annoying thing is that every time you switch modes it reverts back tot he fast speed setting. For Wash this is fine, but if you don't set it back to slow for curing then it will throw items off the plate if you start it in fast.

    Hi my friend... After your experience with castable resins, which would you say is better? The blue cast x one or the power resin dark? I really appreciate your videos as they help us a lot congratulations and go ahead..

    • @vogman
      @vogman  Год назад

      Unfortunately it's hard to beat Power Resins. They are very easy to print with and cast beautifully, which is why the resin is so expensive. That I could forgive but they have a poor reputation for customer care, lacking any interest in providing printer settings, etc. Shame. Bluecast on the other hand are cheaper and try very hard to help their customers... and if you use the product well, it's great. I'll be doing a X One user guide video and hopefully a giveaway in a few weeks. In the meantime though... to be 100% honest, PR is easier to use, though both cast equally well.

    Anycubic do the same supply spare barings i got 2 with mine but the newer wash and cure that came with the mono2 is more vibrations through it and prints vibrate off the turn table all the time pain in the hole! So that is my wash station and the other os the cure the smooth turning one the older one! Need to strip it down and grease it up maybe but its never been right but was free so not over fussed the wash works but is now flickering on the UV lights when washing and curing the whote curtain round the basket a couple times so think its time for the bin! Lasted 3 months not bad hahahaha😂

      It would certainly cope with prints, yes. As for the plate, check the dimensions in the video and see if the plate will rest on it. If it doesn't, it would be easy enough to rig something with a bit a wire 😁
