1:11 Those refractors on the LEDs are Fresnel lenses. They help spread out the light waves to hit a larger surface. It's technology that was adopted from lighthouses. They are often used in the bottom UV LED portions of resin 3D printers these days. Elegoo uses them in theirs.
I am definitely buying this! I’ve bought all my printers based off your videos. You, Uncle Jessy, will be the first person to print my Cybertruck Transformer model, before I release the files. We will be in touch
Thanks Jesse!!! I was an Anycubic fan until I started watching you, now it's all Elegoo all the time. Elegoo truly is superior in my experience. This new wash and cure is awesome I guess Black Friday is going to make me buy one.
I don't know why they dont provide a smaller grated cage for tiny bits for printing miniatures. Nothing worse than diving in dirty metho to find heads and bits at the bottom of the vat
Love yours vids as always! Kinda wish they said they wouldve released this earlier. As i bought the S4U with the mercury 2.0. But meh 120 dollars isnt so bad, maybe ill buy it in a few months when my current station is gunked up 🤣
Hi Jessy! Been watching your videos for a while, lurking and learning. Just curious, what's your typical habits for safety when printing resin? I'll tend to be fully masked and gloved up whenever I'm anywhere near resin or touching anything resin could have possibly touched, and cleaning every surface with ISO alcohol so I don't have residual resin from my gloves on things while touching other things. I notice you seem to be fairly lax making videos with resin and the resin bath around you, so I was curious if you use masks and gloves basically every time or are there instances where you don't need to worry about it as much? I appreciate it! Thanks for the great content, friend!
Get a UV light , turn off your lights and then hold the light to the tank...it will cure the bits in the tank and also any resin that is dilluted in the water, leaving you clean IPA
My concerns are for the basket. As i print smaller miniatues (28mm etc), I expect a huge headache in repeatedly draining that tub to retreive tiny pieces that came loose/ slipped thru the basket.
Quick question, I just ran into your video from some years ago about using alternative cleaning solutions (mr clean, mean green etc.) do those work for something like this or will those only work using an ultra sonic? thanks in advance!
I've watched dozens of videos showing various wash and cure options for resin printing, and I still can't find info on the finer details about the process, especially the curing. For one, what do you do with models that have interior holes, which will be shaded from the UV lamp regardless of orientation as the model rotates within the curing station? Does this just require multiple passes with the model placed differently each time in the hopes that all the interior space will eventually get coverage? For another, and related to the previous, what about solid models? Surely the UV light can't always penetrate all the way into the model, even with translucent resin. Do you just wind up with a skin of cured resin, and uncured resin inside the model? I have seen examples of _hollow_ models -- with some kind of gap in the geometry to allow resin to drain from the interior -- but what if you really need or want the model to be solid throughout? How does all that extra resin get cured?
I looked at this but I ecided to go with the Creality W-03 for 2 reasons. 1. It is bigger and seems to have more power on the washing and 2. I got it for $110 which is cheaper then the Elegoo
if you are worried just get the longer kitchen style gloves. ive gotten it on my skin and it hasnt killed me yet and i frequently forget to use gloves. dont get me wrong it isnt good for you but if it happens just wash it off.
@@Vincentflagg Water washable isnt AS toxic as regular, still not fun for your skin. Personally I use "Plant Based Resin" It has no smell, and is MUCH less toxic then any other resins
has anyone used the sunlu ultrasonic cleaner and/or the sunlu curing station? are they any good? I'm getting a saturn 4 ultra and want the washing and curing to be seperate. What else do you recommend?
It doesn't look like they have presets for the wash/cure time? I hate having to smash my + button 20 times to get it to be a 10 minute cure session :-/
Nah, not overly keen on the all in 1 wash and cure stations. And why do they insist on larger holes in the basket. A lot of us are doing minis and smaller items. Sure good for busts etc but those little miniature embellishments end up falling through.
No lie, im kinda pissed off. They sold me on the bundle with the smaller system and never said anythign about the build plate not even fitting it and then come out with this.
I ordered the 3.0 for this reason? And it doesn't even work. I have to use the old base from my 2.0. So don't go buying it! Wait until the 7.5L bin is available and use your old machine
I like the removable plate. I hope they sell them separately because my cure station plate gets really sticky and gross after a few months. Occasionally there is alcohol mixed with resin inside the print that tends to leak out making the plate dirty.
Sliiiiiight correction. It’s 7.5 liters not 7,500 liters 😂🤦♂️
This is why we don’t come to you for math problems but it’s OK. We still love you.
Darn imagine all the prints I could clean at once lol
Aw, but how am I going to wash and cure the life-size boat I definitely wanted to make?
Dang now where am i gonna swim?? 😠🤬😂😂
Just pretend you said 7,500 milliliters 😂
HOLY CRAP.... 7000 LITERS? That is a big tank.
🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️
That's a lot of IPA
@@UncleJessy hahaha, I love it when mistakes don't cost us money. Great video sir!

Perfect timing for this video. I was looking at that v3 station, and the Saturn 4 and you just talked me into it.
i just got one from my local elegoo warehouse and its huge and i love it so far it actually fits the saturn 4 build plate in the vat

Perfect timing for this video, I pre-ordered this morning!
The basket redesign is really nice.
I’m glad you released this video as I’m in the market to get a wash and cure as I just got the mars 5 ultra last week
Thank's again for a good overview video! I was on the wall about this one.
now that's a TON of IPA!
Hmmm... I was hoping it could hold the Jupiter build plate as well. Ahh well. Thanks for covering this Uncle Jessie.
Damn you Elegoo for making great products at affordable prices.

Put some $5 mesh in the bottom... profit
Probably because it's pretty easy to DIY it. You can literally get some plastic sewing grids from any craft store for like $2 and cut it to size.
For me, this is why I love washing the whole build plate.
ordered there black friday bundles with the V3 cureing station saturn 4 ultra and 2 kg of resin :)
Those led covers are fresno lenses. They help spread the light more uniformally.
Now if only they would give us the Jupiter one they promised during the Kickstarter
Yea would be great to get a Jupiter sized one.
Hello. Nice review. Is possible to use the V3 tank with the X Bundle base?

What do you do with the cleaning liquid after you've used it?
It's time to print some bins haha!
Hi, what is the best way to dry the prints? Thanks

Hey how do you clean out the clean tanks? I Let it sit and some of the gunk settled and really attached to the sides

Thank you for the video as always you’re the best. Proud patriot member signing off. Be well be you
Sign me up for two! There you go with an extra bucket and dedicated workspace options for the wash step and cure step :)
They nee to make a bigger wash unit for the Jupiter. Maybe the Venus?
Omni man cos when? Uncle Jessy 🙏

It's not rocket science to take some plastic sewing grid and cut it to size then zip tie it to the bottom.
Where can I find this for $129.00 thanks
Great video 😎😎
I have an anycubic photon mono x 6k. What's the plate compatibility like

are the fumes of this toxic, also is touching it toxic?

Note that the Mercury Plus V3 doesn't include a UV lamp/pen, and the previous Mercury XS UV lamp/pen is not compatible.

The Elegoo Elepool
wow... your supports are HUGE man. they are massively thick.
Maaan that sucks u.u I literally just got the previous ones a couple of weeks ago, I had no idea there were newer versions 😢
With elegoo they have something new every 6 months.
The sides of the basket are to big for smaller parts
You know, maybe it's just me, but like I saw that and immediately thought "Oh, I could use sewing grid there when I need to."
Sure would have been nice when i bought my Saturn Ultra 4 rather than getting the one that wont even work with that build plate size as a 'bundle'.
Only thing I'm worried about is the plastic basket..

So... I could buy this. Or a $5 bucket and a $10 strip of LEDs. Nice.
