      Even I want that.
But sadly he wont ever come close to being the President of INC.I will tell you why. Because he wont be able to connect with the rural population and people at large due to his language barrier.
People need to be heard and spoken to and you can imagine Shashi Tharoor addressing a crowd of 1000 people while he keeps struggling to say Hindi.
So its almost impossible for him.
Even though deep down my heart I really want him to be the next PM.
He connects very well with the youth and the educated class of people, but sadly not the people in general. For them,he would be just another "Englishman".

The fascinating thing is there were words only Englishmen said that were based on Indian expressions which have gone out of usage in England, and are therefore lost forever. An example is `barnshoot' which is a mispronounciation of the commonest Indian insult meaning sister-sleeper. No one in England would know it now, and no Indian would recognize it as a word either.

Brinjale (Portuguese) was one of the veggies traded by Portuguese. Somehow they ended up changing name of this vegetable in India while doing that.
Portuguese are also responsible for introducing some of the vegetables or their varieties to India which Indians can't live without anymore, like tomato or chillies.

    Etymology of Brinjal:
Etymology. Borrowed from Portuguese beringela, from Arabic بَاذِنْجَان‎ (bāḏinjān), from Persian بادنجان‎ (bâdenjân), from Sanskrit वातिगगम (vātiga-gama, “eggplant”), from Malayalam വഴുതന (vaḻutana). Doublet of aubergine.

He was responsible for settling most of the remaining Vietnamese Refugees from 1981- 1984 after the disastrous end if the Vietnam war in 1975 ( Remember the ' Boat people') in The US and Europe, when he worked for UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Singapore, later becoming the Chairman of UNHCR Personnel Geneva. His last international position before joining Indian politics was as the " Director of Communications " for UN General Secretary Kofi Annan ( He was literally the " Spokesperson for the World" - so you know where his English/ Communication skills come from !). He left the UN, New York after losing the race to become the next UN Secretary-General, after the retirement of Kofi- Annan, to South Korean Bank Ki- Moon. I have listed just a few of his achievements...
