    Car = Awto (from english automobile), Kotse (from spanish coche)
    Sunset = paglubog ng (setting of) araw
    Dapit-hapon = Late afternoon (not sunset)
    Dusk = Takip-silim
    (Break of) Dawn = (Bukang) Liwayway
    Weekend = katapusan ng linggo (but its too long, no longer used for sometime now 😂)
    Cake="Keyk" (filipinized spelling)
    I drink=Umiinom ako (verb >subject) OR Ako ay umiinom (subject>verb)
    Honey=pulot (deep, seldom used).
    Yes, some filipino/tagalog words are no longer used as english words were already adopted in daily conversations.

    That's right, some words are not being used often anymore. Especially the old terminologies of words. Or sometimes there's a different word for it as well. Example: Aklat - this is an old term. Nowadays, i think 'Libro' is being used more often.

    The Tagalog alphabet was formerly used as the Philippine alphabet (prior 1987?). It contained only 20 letters and excludes the letters c, f, j, q, v, x and z from the English alphabet and includes a unique additional letter, ng. Since there is no letter v, you will hear a Tagalog speaking person pronounce a word with a "v" as "b" ex. very as "beri", no f and therefore pronounce "f" as "p" ex. effort as "eport", no z and therefore pronounce "z" as "s" ex. zebra as "sibra". The letter k is pronounced like the letter c, ex. kamiseta.

    Yes, there are English words in Filipino and they are called "Hiram na salita" or borrowed words, we use them because they don't have the exact counterpart for Tagalog words. An example is the mouse and keyboard for computers.

    Aklat is almost unused in daily conversations, we use Libro much often same with Kamiseta we dont use it often, we use damit.
    And also please take note there are some English words who actually have a Tagalog word, for example is Sunglasses, we use Salamin, it is also used for Mirror.
    Honey does actually have a Tagalog word but is not used often in Manila, its Tagalog is Pulot pronounced as Pùlòt.
    Pulot can also mean "to pick up" pronounce as Púlōt.
    In Tagalog language there are a lot of Homonyms, sam spelling but different meanings.
    For example Linggo is Sunday and Linggo is also week, same spelling same pronunciation. To understand or to use Tagalog words, you need to also put it in a context. Meaning of the tagalog Homonyms are based on context.

    ORIGINAL “BAY-BA-YING TAGALOG(alphabet) SCRIPT” has ‘NO’ letter “R”, during PreColonial & Colonial Era.
    Examples:
    Ma-DA-mot (Old Tagalog)
    Ma-RA-mot (Modern Tagalog) - “means stingy”
    Ma-DAM-da-min (Old Tagalog)
    Ma-RAM-da-min (Modern Tagalog) - “means sentimental “
    (Conjugation words)Ex.:
    U-pa/U-pa-han /U-pa-hin (Old Tagalog)
    Hi-RAM/Hi-RA-man/Hi-RA-min (Modern Tagalog) - “means rent or borrowed”🇵🇭📚✍️✍️✍️✅👀
