    Ok so revisiting this grip sock video series of yours James, I've bought the gogogoal grips socks off amazon for a fiver because quite frankly, that is an absolute bargain! Will try them out this weekend and see how they are compared to the previous budget copy's and gain the edge socks I've used before. I've some Umbro Protex grip socks on route and considering purchasing some others to see how they compare, Admittedly, I've not had that many issues with gaintheedge socks to be fair - but thats probably because I've not tried other more pricier options!

    The material composition is what you get for the more expensive socks. For me, I want cotton poly mixed socks. All the cheaper grip socks socks are 100% polyester. It would be really good if you could include to material composition in your next video. Polyester socks are horrible to wear

    • @BootWizard
      @BootWizard  5 месяцев назад +1

      I'll be honest with you I'm probably not going to add material composition to the list, it's a lot of extra work for me and on the whole people don't care enough or don't know what difference it makes as they don't have an understanding of how the materials work. That's why I just simplified it to technical fabric or crew sock + grips, it makes it simpler for most people to understand.
      You'll also find a lot of cheap grip socks have a cotton poly blend and just the materials alone aren't enough to justify the sock purchase, the quality and amount of Spandex or elastine or nylon starts to play a huge role along with the shape and sizing, just the percentage blend doesn't seem to offer too much insight especially to thr average person.
      For example Drip grip socks which I don't like for example are 45% nylon 35% cotton 17% polyester. Wefoot grip socks which I love and are incredibly high quality are 40% cotton 50% polyester. Elite feet grip socks (not on the list yet) which I also consider a poorer cheap sock is 50% cotton 40% poly. The Tanstc socks which are some of the cheapest I've reviewed have the highest cotton percentage at 75% and I don't think they're good enough at all.
      Hope that answers your question and gives you some insight into my thought process.

    • @manupasta
      @manupasta 5 месяцев назад

      @@BootWizardi understand a lot of extra work but definitely think it’s worth mentioning just because most people don’t realise, you do know what you’re talking about. I think you can educate a lot of your viewers on the matter

    • @BootWizard
      @BootWizard  5 месяцев назад

      @@manupasta The issue then becomes what I mentioned above, there is no magic formula where you can say that a certain % of material is good or bad. Using the examples I gave above, there are socks with very similar blends right at the top and bottom of the scale. All I'd be doing is putting up numbers that in reality mean very little in terms of how good the sock is, that's why I'm my view the extra work doesn't achieve a lot, if I genuinely thought it would be something that could be very impactful and help people make good decisions I'd happily do the work, there just isn't a guideline that can be given because there are too many other factors at play like manufacturing techniques, material patterns, quality of each individual type of material etc.
      Just to throw another example in there, the Falke grip socks which will be in a future part and I believe to be some of the best on the market contain no cotton, it's an entirely synthetic blend with only around 10% polyester.

    -Tabio MC Sport Football
    Great job, good info, keep going 👍🏼

    • @BootWizard
      @BootWizard  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey thanks for watching, Tabio will be in one of the other parts it's absolutely one of my favourites. For all intents and purposes he MC football is a bit of a rebrand of what I consider to be the classic Tabio sock, they're basically the same thing. And the Falke will also be in a different part, either 3 or 4, it will be the older version because I haven't tried the new one yet, but overall, it still gets a glowing review from me, and the new one only improves on that based on what I can see from the tech details.
