Why can't the world be like this? Because of sin. But I believe that on the New Earth someday, when Christ comes back to rule and reign, it will be, only better: no sin. No sin, no tears, no crying, no sorrow, no pain, and no death (the result of sin; the reason we die). Only brand new, physical bodies with unending strength and vitality, adventure, discovery, work that we'll love, everlasting joy, and probably things that we can't even imagine this side of eternity. I grew up in central Indiana during the 1950s and early 60s, but I saw the Addie Mills stories in the 70s as a young adult, and I simply adored them. They represented to me a way of life that was quickly disappearing but that I wanted desperately to hold onto as I raised my own family. Now I am 77 years old and recently discovered that these Addie productions are still available, so last week I rented "The House Without a Christmas Tree" and shared it with some of my fellow senior community residents. They absolutely loved it. I think no matter where or when we grew up, we retain that sense of nostalgia and long for a life that seemed near-perfect in our memories. Thank you, RUclips, for sharing these films!
House without a Christmas tree and the Holiday treasure are both such good family movies. They just don't make movies like this anymore, sad... I grew up in a very, very small town myself, many years ago, out in the country. Schooled at an old 100-year school building which the floors qreaked. All the country trees, ponds, all the farmland of grain, corn, and sunflowers. Cattle, horses, farm fields for miles! My small town didn't even have a traffic light. Riding my bike whenever & wherever with my brother as we pleased. Never in danger of bad people...Playing with neighbor kids! Such good memories. Thank you very much for posting these great shows!
We loved watching these movies like this growing up so much ... because we only had 5 channels if we were lucky...and if we had rabbit ears....having very few options then...made these tv shows even more special.
Watch this and the rest of the holiday stories of Addie with my family when I was very young, but now almost 50 years later I’m watching them with my 3 granddaughters- what great past and present memories
1973 . . was only 5 yrs old and I remember that week and watching all three then when they aired in my grandparents living room, a coal fire burning and the smell of it.

You are welcome! I may be wrong, but the book was called The Thanksgiving Treasure, but if you watch and look at the title card in the movie, it's called The Holiday Treasure. It was a family tradition to watch it when I was a kid and I always referred to it as Thanksgiving Treasure because that's what the VHS and later DVD covers said, so I was surprised when I noticed the title in the video. Trust me it was a tough decision what to call it 😂
@@bigredbu You are so correct! I have the book and it is titled The Thanksgiving Treasure. Yes, Addie and the King of Hearts was a special too, but a bit shorter than the others. And it was the last one - Lisa Lucas was looking older at that point.

@Jeanne Imagine when you see supermarkets department stores big cars puppies and kittens and tropical fish finished basements corner candy stores with all the goodies and beefsteak Charlie's and no school on Saturday but all the cartoons you can see and tv! I can go on and on and on.
My mom accidently put this special on instead of Waltons at Thanksgiving and made my sisters and brothers and me watch it and I loved it it made quite an impression on me , I love watching this movie because it reminds me of my mom and our childhood Thanksgivings ❤
My mother used to make cranberry relish at thanksgiving and half if it she would put it in a mason jar and pressure can it. That way at christmas time she already had hers done. It was the best i ever tasted. Cranberries, sugar, orange zest, orange juice. Also had 2 envelopes of knox gelatine for 4 quarts of cranberries. After it was stewed and jarred it made 2 quarts. Then she would add a little more orange juice to the jar she planned to seal up and put it in her pressurizer to insure that it sealed and stayed edible. It was so good. Nothing like the jelly in the can. That is so gross(imo).
They just don't make them like this anymore. Most movies now I fast forward through to the end. I didn't want to miss a word or a gesture in this one. Like looking at an old photograph with all the memories...

Nice. ❤️ If I had this seen movie before I don’t remember. I am glad her Dad softened up some
toward her. A bad case of old age : )
Gail Rock is from my hometown. Enjoy her stories Especially House without a Christmas tree
I remember these films with the collage segues but I never remembered the titles & my my family thought I was crazy - thanks for posting so I know that I wasn't hallucinating or dreaming 😴 💭
I had no idea there were other movies until I found this and an Easter one. I loved the Christmas one and am happy to find this was a series of movies. I googled about the movies to see if there were more and found Addie and the king of hearts also. I'm having a movie marathon now watching these movies.
Originally known as The Thanksgiving Treasure. Better name, great family movie.
70's tv specials are the best
1973 was a special year for me . Thats when I left a third world country and came to the best country in the world.
@Jeanne Imagine when you see supermarkets department stores big cars puppies and kittens and tropical fish finished basements corner candy stores with all the goodies and beefsteak Charlie's and no school on Saturday but all the cartoons you can see and tv! I can go on and on and on.
@Jeanne Seeing all that for the first time in your life as a 6 year old boy you bet they were good memories!
I was born in 73. ☺
Thank you for posting.
This is my 1st time watching and I really enjoyed it ❤
My mom accidently put this special on instead of Waltons at Thanksgiving and made my sisters and brothers and me watch it and I loved it it made quite an impression on me , I love watching this movie because it reminds me of my mom and our childhood Thanksgivings ❤
you should be thankful no matter what you do.
Excellent, perfect.
Thanks for the upload.💜
The Holiday Treasure movie 1973, is “ jewel 💎 “. As it represents as human beings, we must always choose, to do the right thing. Our nation was “ blessed “, beyond your imagination . As the 3 powerful : ABC, CBS and NBC invested thousands, of dollars to produce , television movies and series, for the pleasure of our population. Peace and love brothers and sisters, of good faith 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
thanks
Wonderful memories of my childhood!
