My mom accidently put this special on instead of Waltons at Thanksgiving and made my sisters and brothers and me watch it and I loved it it made quite an impression on me , I love watching this movie because it reminds me of my mom and our childhood Thanksgivings ❤

One of The Happy memories of the 70 s great shows like this one and in my 20s

I've been watching this film every year since my mom recorded it off the tv in 1987. In recent years, we had that old vhs tape turned into dvd format, complete with the commercials of that time that also got recorded. Every year, they all take me straight back to my childhood.

The Holiday Treasure movie 1973, is “ jewel 💎 “. As it represents as human beings, we must always choose, to do the right thing. Our nation was “ blessed “, beyond your imagination . I have never seen this episode, just the Thanksgiving and Christmas ones. Poor Addie, no self awareness. With that sharp-tongued and self-centered air, she’s so bossy and self righteous, hiding her insecurities. And the grouchy skinflint dad-no wonder Addie is like she is. Thank God for the sweet and dear grandmother. Don’t we all know people just like this? (Yes we do.) And that adults and kids would be at the same community event-the chaperones. Such rare and innocent fun, we’ve come way too far removed from those days, and traditions.

Happy to see this movie bit Early for Easter 🐇🐇 but couldn't wait now I have house without Christmas tree and holiday treasure on DVDs wasn't able to find this one or The Valentine one but can see them on utube All The Addie mills stories are so good and The movies made from the books are so well written And acted always a lot of lessons to be learned

It's been so long since I'd seen this I forgot how cute it was there are plenty of good movies for Christmas but not many for Valentine's Day the Many years I was single after My first marriage ended in divorce Valentine's wasn't that Big a deal since My remarriage has a whole new meaning

Thanks for posting this. I remember watching “The House Without a Christmas Tree” and “The Easter Promise” growing up, but I didn’t know about “Addie and the King of Hearts” or “The Holiday Treasure”. They used to show the Christmas movie every year, but I believe the other movies had just become forgotten memories. These movies have a sweetness that is sorely lacking in today’s films. It really brought me back to elementary school when all seven of my brothers and sisters and I would huddle in front of the tv and watch with our Dad. God bless and merry Christmas.

I had no idea there were other movies until I found this and an Easter one. I loved the Christmas one and am happy to find this was a series of movies. I googled about the movies to see if there were more and found Addie and the king of hearts also. I'm having a movie marathon now watching these movies.

House without a Christmas tree and the Holiday treasure are both such good family movies. They just don't make movies like this anymore, sad... I grew up in a very, very small town myself, many years ago, out in the country. Schooled at an old 100-year school building which the floors qreaked. All the country trees, ponds, all the farmland of grain, corn, and sunflowers. Cattle, horses, farm fields for miles! My small town didn't even have a traffic light. Riding my bike whenever & wherever with my brother as we pleased. Never in danger of bad people...Playing with neighbor kids! Such good memories. Thank you very much for posting these great shows!

One day I came across a video the house without a Christmas tree so I bought it. The title was familiar to me. My grandmother said her father wouldn’t let her have a Christmas tree and she brought home a cut off bottom part of a Christmas tree and put it in the stove pipe, but when her father came home, he took it out, threw it out. I love that program and now I just happen to come across these others and then will be happy to watch them. I enjoyed the simplicity.

This is the 2nd made for tv movie on CBS and then there was a 3rd about Adie trying to get a boyfriend.

I think addie is a terrific kid,back when people cared about being smart and honest and having good manners.Unlike now,people think being dishonest and rude and stupid is the way to be now,not realizing what that will cause to their life.people need to hold on to what's good,no matter what.it's important.

I have always loved A House Without a Christmas Tree. The copy I had was pretty poor, so I ordered a twin DVD with the fore-mentioned title and The Thanksgiving Treasure. That was a new view for me and I really liked it, so I bought the second twin DVD containing this title along with The Easter Promise. I like them all. It would have been nice to see another installment or two. I think it would have been nice to see if James and Irene ever tied the knot. Addie would have gone nuts with the wedding preparations.

lovin the gangsta guy , he is funny and a natural actor , the lead female is also very talented . Altogether , very entertaining . Was in a production of this myself as one of the angels with a high pitched new ywooork accent ;D

I like how we see all the varied people's points of view: Dad, Grandma, Constance, the other children, and Addie's, of course. Love Addie's stubbornness. Not easy to make your own place in a small town, harder yet to come back after being away. There's no sure happy ending to these tales, but it's more like real life. You just keep trying, and trying to encourage others.
