My Uncles favorite musical and Daniel did such a great job especially since no one thought he could do anything but Potter. Im a huge fan and immediately bought the cd when it came out. Love it!
That was amazing. Broadway performers are so talented. And the ability to sing and dance-wow! You would probably like the old black and white musicals.
I love when non-theatre people discover theatre!! It has every genre and style of music across the board and god I can’t wait for you to discover Company and Chorus Line and Newsies and West Side Story and Rent and all the beautiful shows and stories there are out there
As someone with a degree in musical theatre, it really grinds my gears that they didn’t turn Daniel Radcliffe’s mic off when he was dancing. Not all people would notice it, but I do. And it annoys me cause this is soooooo great.
Nice! Other tony performances I would recommend you react to is "I've Decided to Marry You" from A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder from the 2014 Tony Awards and also "She Used to be Mine" from Waitress in the 2016 Tony Awards. After you've completed Hamilton, if you want to watch full length musicals, I recommend Legally Blonde and Into the Woods as the whole musicals are available on youtube!
I love the year that Book of Mormon was up for awards. That performance was gr8. Also . . . when Neil Patrick Harris did his opening numbers the several years he hosted - He was amazing.
Holy crap! I knew Daniel did well with stage performance, but the vocal and dance training had to have been super intense. That's not something he started young like many dancers and singers. He certainly started acting, young, but the kid can really move and sing! I guess I shouldn't say kid, but I am old enough to be his mother, so, cut me some old lady slack, lol.
omg I can't believe you reacted to this one! I think this one is so fun to see reactions to because people don't know that daniel radcliffe can do this and do it really well so I'm so happy you received this performance so well! thank you for reacting to this!
Just to kind of continue this impressed by Daniel Radcliffe train, I'm going to recommend "Daniel Radcliffe - She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain When She Comes."
Glad you had this reaction! If you go back and watch the Robert Morse/Matthew Broderick/Daniel Radcliffe versions, they each have such a unique take on the character, all of them so enjoyable.
I performed in this production in our local community theater some years ago. However, our dancing to this song wasn't nearly as energetic, but we did have a great cast so the singing was awesome! Daniel Radcliffe was amazing.
I can’t tell you how much I love that you loved this! Everything you react to these days is up my alley! Found you thru PTX, and so glad I did! Loving your Hamilton reactions too! 💛xo
Oh heck yeah. I’ll subscribe and I hope more Tony award shows and Broadway performances are in hand. This is a friggen fun performance by Daniel and company!’
This is one of my favorite musicals of all time! I saw Daniel twice and he was just phenomenal, full of all the flow and energy you could hope from a live performer. One thing I want to note about this musical that makes it such a remarkable triumph is just how subtly FUNNY it is. It is a lighthearted satirical farce that lovingly lampooned the 60’s office work culture, I believe the 90’s revival was styled slightly differently to direct its attention to the 80’s office boom, and then the 2010’s revival went back to the 60’s once more. The beauty of the musical is that Finch, Daniel Radcliffe’s role, truly lied his way to the top and just as he was about to be exposed, he brought all his coworkers and bosses who were ready to fire him and disband the company into this rousing number of looking out for each other. So funny, so well written, so satirical, so smart 💜
Also, speaking of media lampooning 60’s office culture, if you look carefully in the lead ensemble, you’ll notice Bryan Bratt AKA Salvatore from Mad Men!!!!!!!
Ok not to make a whole thread of just me lol but if you like this type of farce in musicals, I’d definitely recommend checking out The Apple Tree or A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum!!!! Amazing amazing classic musical theatre that aren’t brought up nearly enough!
I love David Hull is this performance. He's just a dancer but he's so beautiful! EDIT Oh also you need to see Summit High School's performance of this its Broadway worthy trust me.
Definitely reccomended looking into covering Team Starkid musicals which are on RUclips next. They are a lot of fun! Also, regular musicals I would reccomended are Newsies, Come From Away, and Music Man
That was amazing! The guy from the Potter movies? And I recognized the tall guy from a very successful sitcom. Who knew all the folks were also doing theater? I cannot wait for your Hamilton reactions to continue. It is such a roller coaster now, you will be 🤯🤯🤯.
There are so many revivals out there with fantastic numbers. Broadway musicals have such a huge variety of styles, it is amazing. Consider reacting to performances from Newsies, Chicago, or Hadestown - for the dancing....
Fun fact: one of the people introducing this performance at the Tony Awards was Matthew Broderick, who used to play Daniel's character in a previous version of this musical in the 90s. If you don't recognize that name, you've definitely heard his voice as Simba from "The Lion King" and maybe seen him as live-action Inspector Gadget or possibly seen him in other musical roles like Professor Harold Hill from a movie-version of "The Music Man" and as a lead for both the musical and the movie musical of "The Producers" with fellow Lion King alumni Nathan Lane (who was Timon).
I haven't seen the musical, but I remembered it being mentioned as something physically demanding for the performers and it certainly is. Not that musical theatre is usually a walk in the park. Singing and dancing at the same time is hard and they often have to do the show eight times a week.
Hey mate! New viewer here! Loved this clip, seen it a few times. Looks like Daniel is a triple threat! 🤣 Super talented and humble dude. Anyway, I’d love to share another super talented gentleman that is Australian named John Farnham (far num). He’s really big down under and has been singing for 55 years or so now. His famous songs are You’re The Voice, Chain Reaction, That’s Freedom, Burn For You, A Touch Of Paradise, Playing To Win, and he also does a wicked rendition of The Beetles Help 😁 Other brilliant songs are Something Is Wrong With My Baby with Jimmy Barnes, Everytime You Cry with Human Nature, and some of his other covers like AC/DC’s It’s a long way to the top. He was also in the Australian cast of Jesus Christ Superstar as Jesus (John was famous for his long blonde hair)
The NY critics were at their most stuck up when they reviewed this production. The NY Times review did nothing but moan for two pages about how disgraceful it was to have a movie star in a major Broadway show, then at the very end they sort of grudgingly admitted "He's not that bad."
Hope you can react to the Tony performance from the show A STRANGE LOOP, a show about a black, queer writer trying to write a musical, which won this year's Tony for Best Musical :)
Here's a few .... of the modern ones Tommy Sweeney Todd The Producers Jesus Christ Superstar Cabaret Godspell Evita All That Jazz (it's a film but, all of these have been made into films) There is also Opera... I really don't know if you could handle that genre (on the Chanel)
@@lixak6307 I’d love him to react to the Australian cast of Jesus Christ Superstar with John Farnham, Kate Ceberano, Jon Stevens, John Waters. John Farnham has been making the rounds on here with US reactors even though he’s been singing for like 50 years here. He famously sings You’re The Voice 😁
I got to see Daniel on Broadway. He’s great live, although I really didn’t realize how tiny he was until I saw him on stage
He's not a tall guy, but while watching this I was wondering if everyone else is six feet tall or is Daniel smaller than I thought.
He may not be tall, but OH MY what a presence 🥰💖
@@sannalopperi-vihinen233 Daniel is 5'5", so yes, he is actually short.

I’m a musical theatre buff since my childhood. Would love to see more of these.

I love How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying! It’s such a fun musical ❤️

I was in this musical in high school ...back in the late 80's...lol! I would LOVE to see you react to the original musical!
My Freshman year of high school we did this play! I met my now husband because of this show! We've been married 34 years now! It's a really fun show!
Glad you had this reaction! If you go back and watch the Robert Morse/Matthew Broderick/Daniel Radcliffe versions, they each have such a unique take on the character, all of them so enjoyable.
Loving anyone doing theatre reactions
I performed in this production in our local community theater some years ago. However, our dancing to this song wasn't nearly as energetic, but we did have a great cast so the singing was awesome! Daniel Radcliffe was amazing.
I love your theatre journey like I've mentioned before! I can't wait to see the new Tony Award performances tomorrow night!

I love you are reacting to musicals
Great traction!! Your face was priceless
Wasn’t it fun? I’m old enough to have seen the original crew perform this on the Ed Sullivan Show, and young enough to appreciate Daniel Radcliffe.
Imagine doing this (plus the whole show in front of it) 8 times a week. Incredible.
It's nice to see a straight guy appreciate Broadway
I absolutely love this video! Glad you enjoyed it. You skipped the intro--you should watch it.
That was great. I would also love to see Kirstie Maldonado’s role in “Kinky Boots.”
I never knew John Larroquette was on Broadway, so cool!!
And he won a Tony for this role.
The movie from the 60's is very good.
Oh heck yeah. I’ll subscribe and I hope more Tony award shows and Broadway performances are in hand. This is a friggen fun performance by Daniel and company!’
Hey!
Right now I am wrapping up watching Les Misérables on the channel, after we are going to watch miss Saigon:)

Another Tony Performance you would be thrilled by is The Color Purple from 2016. It will impress the heck out of you. I promise.

Nobody does it like theatre people.
