I agree with Tom Felton's comment about Dan in this play. The first fifteen minutes you're thinking that it's Harry Potter then you're totally blown away by his performance. He literally IS Jay Pierpont Finch. No one comes close!
Radcliffe was great at the choreography, and the way he phrased / pronounced the words of the song tell me that he reallllly studied the Robert Morse version. My favorite part of this song is towards the end when Miss Jones comes in with that big Ethel Merman voice. Ruth Kobart did it originally, and Ellen Harvey was singing it here. I'm not used to thinking of Miss Jones as attractive (Kobart was older and a bit thicker), but Harvey really did great on the vocal.
dan is really a NATURAL as a showman!!! and the amazing thing is that he visibly enjoys what he is doing, harry potter, a horror or a musical. One of the milions of reasons why we should be grateful to Joanne Rowling is helping the world to discover daniel's incredible talent...
Daniel Radcliffe can do anything...except be tall. In an interview with the Actor's Studio Mr. Radcliffe said something to which every performing artist should pay heed. When asked how he motivates himself to go on stage every night (or, I suppose, before the cameras) he replied, (to the astonishment of the interviewer who, I think, suspected some cerebral 'craft' response about deep breathing and 'getting into character'), "I remind myself that a great many people are paying a great deal of money to see me in this role and I had better go out there and do my job." Admirable and wise words from a talented young man.
It should be noted that he is doing it all in a completely different accent than his natural one. And not just another accent, it’s a dialect that’s stuck in the 1930s.
I was so fortunate to have seen this cast on Broadway! How to Succeed is among my top 3 favorite musicals and Daniel has long been a favorite performer of mine as well.
Daniel Radcliffe is a really nice guy and a great actor! I saw him in Equus in London and he was outstanding but what impressed me was when he came out of the theatre a lot of youngsters were thrilled to see him and he took the time to acknowledge them and was just so polite and friendly. And in this musical he is just sensational!
Watching this in 2023 (and generally forgetting how time works) means my mind was BLOWN hearing her say that the Deathly Hallows hadn't even been released yet! What an incredible breadth of talent at a younger age than we remember. Some of his best work for sure!
I almost cried just watching this.I would do absolutely ANYTHING to see a Broadway musical.Especially this one,as Daniel Radcliffe is one of my heroes.I can afford a ticket, but getting there is going to be a problem...
He's adorable! wow and that voice!! not what i was expecting i love it! :) wished i could go and see it in new york! hope this is just the beginning to daniel's broadway carrer
I LOVE this. So much fun. One of my fave parts is at 5:50 or so when they flip Dan off the table and then all of them fall into step with the dancing. Haha! I completely understand the applause and cheers at that point.
I'm incredibly impressed by Daniel. Wow. His dancing skills are incredible, like people are saying general showmanship, his singing was also very good as well.
WORK IT DAN!!! Haha I loved it!! Really fun and catchy although you could hear Dan's charming accent in it, ah well lol. What I would do to see this play... I want more clips like this! Congrats on Dan for always pushing himself!! B)
Gosh, it was so fantastic to see Michael on my tv again this morning! He looked great (but then when doesn't he, LOL!). I really want to see this. Love you Michael!!!
Amazing in many ways but especially in their ability to modify their coordination of singing and dancing from a full Broadway stage to that small platform!
There's someone who is well known at many community theaters near me and in the theatre department at my college who did this musical at a community theater near me and was great as well! Now I will not compare dan to the person I am speaking of whose name I won't say here for his privacy. Dan and the person who does theater near me are very different actors and performers as well. I know the person I know who played finch in HTS in my area will one day make it to Broadway one day!
please look up the matthew broderick tony performance of the same song... the woman BLOWS away this one - I can't understand why they changed this version back to the 50's movie style. :( Otherwise I did see the show, and it wasn't bad
I saw him in this back in April, and I could easily see he wasn't used to singing and dancing that much. His face really showed it. I give him props for lasting this long.
I get to see this is June, and at first I was only excited because HELLO?! Harry Potter! But now, I actually have a reason to be excited more! So excited!
Malfoy: Gonna be a ballerina eh,Potter? Hermone: Harry.... singing.... at last do something more sophisticated..... you killed Voldemort for crying out loud! Ron: Harry? Ginny: I don't wanna marry a ballerina.
he's short but very good... i laughed when he sang and dance... i never pictured harry potter dancing and singing... daniel radcliffe is a good actor in broadway obviously
Daniel looks less nervous performing to a huge crowd here, than speaking in a interview about Harry Potter to one person. I love it
The dancing in this is HARD! Dang, Danielle Radcliffe is great!!!!!
*Daniel
incredible
@@michlila hahahaha 6 years later I'm just realizing I wrote "Danielle" 😂

He is so talented and I'm done with the Harry jokes. He's proven himself as more then just a deminsional actor.

Just like Sit Down You're Rockin The Boat! (from Guys and Dolls).
"Training for the ballet Potter?"
Close Malfoy...close
It's so crazy to think that John Larroquette had never been on Broadway before How to Succeed!
dan is really a NATURAL as a showman!!! and the amazing thing is that he visibly enjoys what he is doing, harry potter, a horror or a musical. One of the milions of reasons why we should be grateful to Joanne Rowling is helping the world to discover daniel's incredible talent...
Mr Radcliffe is not an one-trick pony
who played Harry Potter, he is a great actor who once played Harry Potter.
Daniel Radcliffe can do anything...except be tall. In an interview with the Actor's Studio Mr. Radcliffe said something to which every performing artist should pay heed. Admirable and wise words from a talented young man.
Wow, Daniel's parents must be incredibly proud of him.
Да, я им очень горжусь. И папа тоже.
As someone posted in other video: "He's got his mother's legs..."
Dan is so tiny!! I love him so much ! :)
Daniel Radcliffe is a really nice guy and a great actor! I saw him in Equus in London and he was outstanding but what impressed me was when he came out of the theatre a lot of youngsters were thrilled to see him and he took the time to acknowledge them and was just so polite and friendly. Her voice is an amazing opera voice I wish she would sing glitter and be gay and leave the song or sing without so much vibrato
Taryn Benson yaSSSSS
Even Daniel Radcliffe knows bow ties are cool.
HalfBakedBlogger aye!!!!! Understood that reference 😂😂
I know right
Watching this in 2023 (and generally forgetting how time works) means my mind was BLOWN hearing her say that the Deathly Hallows hadn't even been released yet! What an incredible breadth of talent at a younger age than we remember. Some of his best work for sure!
And now he has a Tony award!
I almost cried just watching this.I would do absolutely ANYTHING to see a Broadway musical.Especially this one,as Daniel Radcliffe is one of my heroes.I can afford a ticket, but getting there is going to be a problem...
"Daniel I love your wand!" 2:41
Props to dancing in a small space, early in the morning, and in the cold.
He's adorable! wow and that voice!! not what i was expecting i love it! :) wished i could go and see it in new york! hope this is just the beginning to daniel's broadway carrer

Ok but who ever was in charge of sound... y’all need to fix that lol
I LOVE this. So much fun. One of my fave parts is at 5:50 or so when they flip Dan off the table and then all of them fall into step with the dancing. Haha! I completely understand the applause and cheers at that point.
I have watched that flip into the step so many times. They made that look so easy but I know it wasn't. Wow.
cuando veo a Daniel Radcliffe así... recuerdo porque lo admire, admiro y admirare siempre..
Just to be in the same place as dan would be a miracle
this show was amazing. one of the best broadway shows ever, and the 1962 film is really good too.
dan.... the most short but the most talented.♥
I'm incredibly impressed by Daniel. Wow. His dancing skills are incredible, like people are saying general showmanship, his singing was also very good as well.

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH DANIEEELLLLL ISSS JUUUSSTTTT ADOOORRRAABBLLEEE
The modesty makes him all the more human. And he's not bad at all, he's pretty good!
So talented! I love Dan so much! & I love this song! 🥲
Training for the ballet Potter???
Megan A no malfoy!! Broadway!
When they started the number, I noticed that some of the guys looked nervous, but Daniel looked so comfortable
WORK IT DAN!!! Haha I loved it!! Really fun and catchy although you could hear Dan's charming accent in it, ah well lol. What I would do to see this play... I want more clips like this! Congrats on Dan for always pushing himself!! B)
Thanks for adding this! I turned on The Early Show instead of The Today Show this morning, lol.
I was in the Newtown High School Production of HTSIBWRT. Fuckin' awesome.
Daniel Radcliffe is love.
Imagine that a year later The Today Show cast would do the song for that badass NBC Super Bowl commercial.
Gosh, it was so fantastic to see Michael on my tv again this morning! He looked great (but then when doesn't he, LOL!). I really want to see this. Love you Michael!!!
Wait a second, is that David Hull from Crazy Ex Girlfriend dancing on the right side in the ensemble?!?

Thanks for posting.
Amazing in many ways but especially in their ability to modify their coordination of singing and dancing from a full Broadway stage to that small platform!

Daniel Radcliffe singing and dancing, life = made
I get to see this is June, and at first I was only excited because HELLO?! Harry Potter! But now, I actually have a reason to be excited more! So excited!
This is great. District Attorney Dan Fielding and Harry Potter.
The fact Daniel didn’t get nominated for a Tony was criminal
is it just me or was everything going great until the woman showed up she seriously killed it
ISTG IM IN LOVE
Woww....Dan is so talented
This is outstanding! I love it!
Dan is a superstar singing and dancing! He should be the male version of GaGa!!!
0:42 the man laughing in the left is crazy :)

That is crazyyy...American accent! I wanna see this so bad!

@RoseluvsHHR I saw this yesterday. You can definitely hear the accent, but I wasn't bothered by it. He is a surprisingly good singer.
