that’s how i clocked its fake. it takes over five years to even finish residency. not to mention even more to get established in a field like neurology. then he’s at one of the top institutions?? they should’ve up the ages if they wanted it to be believable

Honestly, while I have my own reservations about OP taking the nuclear option, I can see why she did it. This whole family is rotten to the core, being driven by their pride and even going to these lengths to cover up the golden brother's skeletons cause they want that "perfect family" image, and even manipulating OP into it cause "family" (personally, I really hate this excuse to justify being a douchebag, especially when asking for favors).
My advice to OP: while your immediate family has cut you off, I say do them a favor and move away too, if that is even possible. Knowing these prideful people, disowning you may still not be enough to satiate their hurt pride, and they will do anything to make you prostrate before them, metaphorically speaking. Best to not give them that chance and just disappear off their radar by moving away.

Honestly the one thing I’ve learned from all of these stories is to never tell a friend or parent that their partners are cheating on them. It almost always backfires.
It’s so true. That’s why I never understand why people insist on vilifying people who don’t deliver this information to random acquaintances. Like not everyone is happy learning the truth. Some people like to be in denial. Some people are happy to learn the truth but shoot the messenger. I’ve literally heard of women attacking people who inform them that their partner is cheating. If the person isn’t close enough for me to care about them then uh uh. I’m keeping that information to myself. It’s not my business and it’s not my responsibility!

To be honest the parents and the brother kind of had this coming. they mistreated somebody for years who knew all of their secrets. if they didn't want those to get out they should've treated her better. also I would have sued my brother for deformation since he did lie about me without any proof.
