He didn't forget it, he just did what Metallica does in their concerts. In their concerts, they play the track for the intro, then kick in where the distortion is. The intro is played on a sitar so, while it's possible to play this on a guitar, they just play the intro so it sounds right.

He's using an ESP LTD M-1000 (The best guitar in LTD's M series. It truly is amazing.) As for the tone that he's getting, I don't think he's using an amplifier because he's using an amp simulator. I have one too but a different one. I think he has an HD100 by Line 6 (that was one of the tags in another one of his videos, so I'm assuming.) He has a great setup. But it's very, very pricey.
Great Job! The only thing i noticed, in the harmonized part, i think it sounds better if you play the low harmony the first 2 times and then go to the higher harmony parts, on the record you hear the high harmony pop out more the second time.... that's just how i feel anyways, and how i like to play it myself:) Not trying to criticize just giving advice.
