15:00 Yo I love that transition from inside the cabin, to outside, driving by and back in.. Very smooth, well done! You guys are upping your production quality with each video. Lekker bezig!
Your videos are really nice to watch Max! Great concept, down to earth attitude, amazing cars. And it shows, with 3+ million subscribers. Congratulations man!
In fit and finish yes but the exterior design is just awful. And no front storage which is just stupid. They have had 10 years time to copy the Model S and they didn’t incorporate the frunk in this…
@@kobbetop they never tried to copy tesla in any way. The Battery infrastructre is not as efficient but its just faster. It charges quicker and behaves much better in extreme temperature conditions. It's just a matter of time when Mercedes will bash Tesla. Probably already on the next EQ gen.
You weren't kidding - those driver floor mats looked really dirty already. Thanks for a really interesting and informative review. Although I don't really like the shape of the car, there is no denying it is quite an awesome luxury car/EV.
Dude the way you did that manscape promotion was the best I've ever watched for this product. I've seen many promotional videos on RUclips for manscape but this is by far the best.
@@KevinKickChannel Me neither. Even 200€ phones run pretty smooth nowadays. They put such great technology in that car but fail to make a fluid running operating system.
It’s because car manufacturers generally don’t have access to the best microchips and the best screen suppliers unlike a smartphone company. They also don’t have the best software engineers for the interface so that should explains it. If a high end technology company made a car, it would be expensive, it would take years to fully make and it probably wouldn’t be that good overall apart from having the best of the best technology inside.
Cars take time to design. When they started the project that chip was top notch. And you can't swap CPU easily as the whole system is one program tailored for the original CPU, there's no OS between the hardware and software
Awesome interior with a screen I finally like. I never was fond of the rectangular standing screens. A screen over the total width of the dashboard looks much better in my opinion.
wow saw one in person in a really luxury area...incredible and I may work for a competitor LOL super smart ideas.... AMG sound in the future will be SO COOL
The best or nothing. I feel like Mercedes has delivered on that with the EQS. If I had to pick an electric car to use every day and money was no object, I'd probably go with this.
The lever for opening the hood is under that plastic cover. They put the cover there because they don't really want people to open it, but you can if you want to.
Door slam rattle? I prefer framed doors. Usually much more solid door slam. Otherwise, looks modern Mercedes. For me, Mercedes are a bit blingy now. I preferred them when they were more understated. It seems to drive magnificently. I would like to hear it accelerate with no sounds chosen.
This is likely the result of it being a press/ demo vehicle or general neglect. I have extensive experience with Mercedes coupes/ convertibles (A207, A217, A238...). None of my frameless windows rattle or negatively impact sound proofing at speed. They *do* require special care. You should not hold the window to close the door nor lean on it in any way (I place my fingers on the chrome trim at the door shell's upper limit and push there). It is also important to lubricate the rubber sill and weather strip that form the "virtual B pillar", particularly in colder weather. Needless to say, most people don't care.
@@EgoVolsung Yes, makes perfect sense. They definitely abuse the press cars. I think Mercedes is going to be a leader in EVs. The EQXX is stunning. The design is nice but some of the details in the engineering and materials are incredible. I think definitely tech from that car will make it into upcoming Mercedes production cars.
The interior of this thing looks like that of a private jet, very cool and lots of attention to detail. Is the blue lighting default and can it be toggled to different colors, or nah?
I don't get why people keep comparing this car with an Tesla S ???? I had the chance to try both, and well... there's just nothing to say (other than "try both, and you'll see by yourself"...) ! The MB is a bit expensive, but the level of finish, the attention to detail, and the build quality... you're simply in another dimension ! Tesla has great technology and performance, but after 5' in this car, you'd never look back...
A Tesla is like a battery with 4 wheels attached to it, with camping chairs inside to sit, and a wooden wheel for steering, if you compare Tesla to this car.
I love the no recuperation mode (D+) on my e300e. And I have been curious for so long as to how good can the EQS sail at high speed. It was simply stunning!! Thank you for being the first reviewer to show us the insane engineering that went into creating this efficient car. I feel kinda sad for the engineers that work many hours to get this efficient shape. Many people criticized the shape of the car without realizing what it brings to the table.
I'm impressed with how much a leap in design this seems to have, for the longest time its felt like car's have seemed to just look like face lift models of older versions over and over with no real significant leaps. This really dose look like quite an advance in one step. I don't think its the best looking car but i love the evolution in design.
My phone is carried in pockets together with coins and keys, gets dropped on the floor, is constantly moved around and somehow in 3 years there are no scracthes visible without a special angle+light. The car dashboard that is only touched by hands will be fine.
@4:56 those exposed wipers look so incredibly cheap, the bonnet should have continued further to keep them out of the wind stream and hidden when not in use
Sadly you overlooked the greatest shortcoming, the lack of option 302, rear frontal airbags! The injuries to the neck vertebrae, particularly in children who otherwise are totally unprotected are the worst problem in modern car safety! Mercedes have come a long way with their technology to solve this but stupidly forgotten this on the EQS! Less focus on trivia would enhance matters!
I drive an Insignia Mk2 1.5t. Similar CoD and only 1440kg. Does 140mph. Drives similarly in many ways that it can be boosted and then left to cruise with little rolling resistance. ”Super spacious” he says whilst his knees are brushing against the seat in front of him. I’ve sat in the back of one and i’m 189cm, i couldn’t fit in it comfortably even if i wanted to, the seat base was way too short and shallow and after five minutes my neck was aching from having to sit slouched to fit my head…

The problem is that you cannot tune an electric engine. It has a fixed amount of Watt which directly translates to HP. You can "unlock" more torque if required, but that is something electric vehicles usually do not lack in the first place. So to get an AMG or Brabus version, they will have to swap the electric engines, might add a 2 or 3 gear transmission and other modifications in order to achieve a sportier car.
Auto detailers looking at the wheels and the super light carpets like: O____O Actually, yeah, the front mat and seat is already showing some dirt. That's not going to wear well over the long term. All that said though, overall this design and aesthetic puts Tesla to shame.
It’s probably the best quality EV there is right now but the exterior design is just awful, not MB in the slightest. Somehow a Model S, which is a 10 year old design, can achieve the same aerodynamic numbers and still look good, so I don’t buy the explanation. when a car company has to explain polarizing looks to people, something is wrong.

That lagging infotainment system seems to be a huge joke, considering the cost of this car.
