  • In this video I'm going to walk you through the concept and execution of glazing for either oil or acrylic paint. While I'm using acrylics in this demonstration, oils work the same, you just use your mixing medium instead of the water I'm using. For this demonstration I've used a fredrix nature core linen paint board, and liquitex basics acrylic paint.

Is everybody in the US of A this stressed ?!? (that accent ... Jesus Christ!)
I'm actually getting more and more concerned with her health , heart rate and so. Maybe she's nurturing a heart attack ?!?
Definitely, she needs to paint more and talk less ...

    • @ClariceAust

Petrecca, I don't think you quite realise that every bit of information she put in there was valuable, so there is no reason to be rude to someone when they are giving you valuable information about painting. Also, please don't misuse Jesus Christ's name in vain.

Your one statement that has really been a life-saver and anxiety buster for me is that "if it's not looking like how you want, it doesn't mean you did something wrong, *it just means you need more layers* ". Those golden words! And I am now never afraid when my painting doesn't go as how I need it as I know that I just need more layers to achieve it. You are really a great teacher. I love your tips.

I cannot believe how much I just learned amazing you are such a good teacher. I love how you talk fast and very clearly and don’t just talk for the sake of talking. I am going to Patreon now I cannot wait to watch the full video.i also have never glazed or done a black and white picture since high school and I’m almost 40. I know about glazing but never realised you could do black and white and then glaze from that. Please keep up the video on RUclips I’ve been watching you for years and thank you for having no music I had a Stroke a year ago and can’t watch videos with talking and music it’s like my brain just can’t do the two. Thanks again and love from Scotland, UK x

THIS is very nicely done... Lisa, this was a great video. I appreciated the way you showed the mixing of the colors for the glazing. You can see by reading the comments that you have reached many and have even assisted other teachers of the arts.
The classics produced by the masters many years ago were rich and deep because of the technique of glazing. It is great that you can encourage your followers to try this glazing technique to bring depth into their works. Thanks again for what you do.

I've been watching all your dog paintings and I sketched it on my canvas and painted the background and a bit of the eye and it doesn't look bad. Now today I'm ready to start! +Erin Walton Twerking is a form of dance inspired by African dance moves. Reducing it to being "slutty" or "not classy" is sexualizing and misunderstanding the dance move and its performers. The beauty of RUclips is that there is no rule to making videos. This website is diverse in its content, members and audience. You watch what you like and let people watch what they like.

The best glazing techniques I have ever watched. Love it, just wish it would be in slow motion.

When i finish painting, if i have paint left create a very very rough and sketchy background and draw a 5 second outline of an object. Then I use this to practice techniques without stress of I need to make it perfect. I scrape excess paint on it, glaze it, make light and shaded areas. Its brilliant to learn. I got an unexpected lovely painting once.

Using tube watercolour paint mixed with matte acrylic medium is good as well since the paint is already quite transparent and you don’t have to thin with water.
