  • Packrafting the Dirty Devil River from around Twin Corral Box Canyon to around Happy Canyon. The river was running at just over 100 cfs which was barely enough; we were often scooting our boats across the bottom.
The hike down from and back to the rim were more taxing than we expected. We did the whole route (including exploring Happy Canyon) in two days but it could have been done more enjoyably in three.
Happy Canyon was way cooler than I expected.
The first track is "Pachabel's Ganon", an OC ReMix based on "The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time" by djpretzel.

Great mix of footage... hand held, drone etc. Well done! Great subject matter as well. I need to get back to that area before I get to old!

I'm seriously impressed by the effort you guys put into floating down a fairly short distance of that muddy little river in such a difficult region...I could find Burr Point and Twin Corral Box Canyon on Google Earth, but I wasn't able to pin point Happy Canyon, even the drone view didn't help. None the less I greatly enjoyed the video as that western side of the Green and Colorado rivers fascinates me, truly a giant "Maze" of canyons. I've also watched a couple bush plane channels landing their planes at three little strips down there, my favorite being "GravityKnightFlying"...Thanks for posting.

The drone shots give a great perspective of the area and your videography really captures the essence of this place. I've explored many slot canyons in the area and really think the Dirty Devil area is an amazing place all up and down the river. I need to get back there. Thanks for sharing !!

Hope you have read “Beyond the 100th Meredian”! It’s why I looked this up. Thanks for these views these octogenarians will never get to see in person! 🙏

Looks like a fun adventure. For the future, the use of drones in Wilderness is illegal. All of Twin Corral Box is within the Dirty Devil Wilderness Study Area.

Oh, dang. Thanks for the heads up. I legit didn't know we were within a wilderness boundary down there, I thought it was all BLM.

I totally agree with banning the use of drones in wilderness areas, but WSAs are not the same as congressionally designated wilderness. A quick Google search shows that there are no laws restricting the use of drones in WSAs.

@@kdarnell12 Agree, there are some drone pilots that think they should be able to fly anywhere they want including inside national parks -- can you imagine sitting around Old Faithful with 2000 other visitors to watch her blow only to have a couple dozen drones flying over your head and over Old Faithful? OTH, many others feel drones should be illegal everywhere. You can't win with some people.

Very cool adventure and nicely executed, but so tired of drones in nature! But if it ain't illegal, what can you do?
