I am so happy that Alexander Siddig and Nana Visitor can work together (for what is an obvious non-profit project) after their divorce...some people can't stand each other even 20 years after their divorce.
I love everything about this. Text. Subtext. Andy and Sid just slip back into character with seeming effortlessness. Such great chemistry. And Nana Visitor didn't even have to tell us who she was. It was immediately obvious she was the Mirror universe Kira and not "our" Kira. Also LOL at Garak's laugh when Jake lets slip that Koval had Tuvan Syndrome.
Thank you...! I was trying to figure out. As the prologue mentioned, Julian had some unusual experiences - "strange bedfellows, regretful complications" - so, even she totally seemed as Mirror Kira this would be impossible, at least from what we know until this episode, then I imagined they had oooother kind of relationship. But, well, I have not any information about when this new universes interaction(s) happened and what they did to generate this set... May I assume that "our Kira" continues to work as Kai? This great work is lovely. I hope I can find information about the production of all this, I am avid for the backstage info.
Oh my goodness! Nana Visitor really enjoys playing the Intendent! The gleam in her eyes as she played that part. So good to see her back!! This gets better and better! 😊
I really think her performance on DS9 was underappreciated. She gave Kira so much emotional complexity, often very subtle and portrayed in atypical ways. It must have been exhausting from an acting standpoint. Her emotional conflict was always so genuine and believable that it was easy to forget she was acting.
I think the first two left because of the makeup process, which makes me have even more respect for Michael Dorn who went through a reasonable makeup process for 11 years and 4 movies!
DISCO’s reasoning was dramatically different and somewhat accidental, but it lays the precedent for controlling unpredictable elements by keeping them in house. And since Section 31 often needs people with...flexible morality...But there is a part of the story you folks don’t know. I couldn’t give that info without revealing her upcoming appearance.
@@JKolman1179 Same with me and Sid -- when I first laid eyes on him I thought he was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen, and 30-ish years later, he's still the most beautiful man I've ever seen.
Nana took me by surprise in the most deliciously devious way; admittedly it took a few seconds to realize this was not "our" Kira. The gentlemen really pulled on my heartstrings at the end :( Don't make 2020 worse , lol.
Also, after 25 years we finally learn Garak didn't assassinate subcommander Ustard. Someone should really tell Odo, it's probably been bugging him ever since Broken Link.
Got to say, I've been rivetted since this series started! Really admire how everyone found their footing with these characters again almost seamlessly.
What a joy to see the Intendant again! And Garak is telling the truth! Best get to work, Doctor, but no cures until he admits his undying love! This is such a delight, can't wait for the next installment.

@@boduke9428 It’s interesting that you feel so strongly that minimising minorities of any kind seems both rational and appropriate. It was never about checking boxes. Andy has stated on numerous occasions that he read that relationship as romantic and always played it that way. It also demonstrates growth for Bashir, having been in love with, and involved with, a member of a pansexual species to re-evaluate meaningful relationships in his life. It’s not pandering. It’s growth and evolution in a way that respects the creators of these characters.
Omfg I am so obsessed with this and all of them and Nana is INCREDIBLE!! Literally cry every episode I’m so happy to see my old friends again. If Garak and Bashir don’t finally admit their love for each other I don’t even know what I’ll do
@Ian Richards 'Cos there are SO many LGBTQ characters in Trek......NOT! (discounting Discovery) Anyway, why would thinking a character(s) 'might' be Gay, ruin your favourite series? It being full of Straight characters doesn't ruin it for me. Not seeing yourself represented on screen isn't generally something straight folk have to contend with, so when there is the teeny tiniest little glimmer of a hint that a character might be 'Gay', then yeah, we Queer folk tend to jump all over it. We are used to having crumbs thrown our way, but we scoop them up gladly and our imaginations make those crumbs in to a meal. Sorry if that's something you find hard to digest
I just watched all three in a row, and I am soooo... happy. You can just close your eyes and imagine Julian in a runabout while Garak in full Cardassian glory. It's so enjoyable. I hope this gets a great ending and we see more of these cool characters. Also, shipping ideas are going crazy. I don't know if I want them to end up together as I like the ambiguity, but I NEED for them to have lunch together after all this.

A real shame they weren't allowed run with it, but I take comfort in the knowledge that both Sid and Andy were on board with that idea and played their scenes together accordingly.......until they were 'shut down'. I loved the dynamic between Julian and Miles, but I feel it came at the expense of Julian/Garak. Yay for fanfiction......it often puts 'right' a lot of 'wrongs' :)

They still got it! :D Such an unexpected pleasure to see my heroes again. These three episodes were better already than Discovery and Picard combined. I wish we could get someday a ST Deep Space Nine Special, something like The Red Dwarf had. Oh, I miss TNG, DS9 and Voyager so much. I guess, it is about time to start a new re-watch. :D And big thanks to all who made these episodes possible. We fans, want to see more. Thumbs up!

We need a DS9 season 8 PRONTO!!!! I hope and pray that the power's that be at CBS realize how much this show is still loved throughout the world and would commit to at least a movie or mini series. I just feel that there is so much more story to tell. Let's do it while we are still blessed to have the majority of the original actor's still living. Rip Rene and Aaron !

Garak telling the truth for once is a plot twist no one saw coming. Also, I finished watching DS9 yesterday and it's so neat to see them slipping back into their roles so effortlessly!
I love how Ds9 cast members feel like family even 20 years later! What other group of actors would do fanfic! I never got to see Ds9 growing up because I was so young (I'm 28 now) but I gotta say its always been my favorite, the moral issues that were tackled in Ds9 were truly amazing even by todays standards...It's like stepping back onto the station the way you guys so easily got back into the characters! Thank you to this whole freakin cast!

DS9 was my favorite out of all the Star Trek series. Dr. Julian Bashir was my favorite character. This is amazing. Keep up this amazing stuff Mr. Siddig. Three Episo9des in. This is the BEST Star Trek I have ever experinced! EVER! and I grew up watching the OG Crew once a weerk at 6pm on BBC2 wih my Dad and Brother.
These are among the greatest actors in the world..why are they not in every major movie franchise. Can you imagine if any of these men got the roll of any of the marvel characters!!! It would be amazing.

ive been looking forward to these episodes! its tough being home alone stuck and just down on my "productivity", loss of income, etc... this has comforted me so much and gave me that sense of magic again. love this with all my heart. thank you to all the actors, producers, writers, fans, who keep DS9 alive online and in our hearts.

Deep space nine was my star trek my childhood my era, I respect and love the others but deep space nine will be my special, q'pla to this show and to the good Dr for doing this.
I hope this isn’t the last one. Is so good seeing and hearing new DS9 material. I love it so much. Thank you so much for this. I honestly miss DS9 so much. It’s was and still is my favorite series.
This is so good. You guys are amazing for brining these characters back to life. Honestly this way of communicating makes much more sense. I always thought it was silly when someone made a comms call just to say "come to the bridge and I'll tell you the thing." Just say the thing!
Loving the series so much, and especially the surprise guests each week. It is SO wonderful to hear all these voices in character again! I'm loving the story's twists and turns too: This disease is like the quickening? Mirror Kira works with section 31? Whoa....) [Intendant Kira seems to have a bad memory: "timid" Julian was so defiant he sparked a revolution, and got sentenced to death (by Kira) for killing Mirror Odo! I wonder if she's hoping he forgot... XD ]

I totally agree. I think far too many Trek actors get typecast in sci fi when they’ve shown tremendous range.
DS9 was just full of great villains, the Intendent included. Visitor did such a great job with that character.
Anne Haight never by me, I always Kira was one of the best Star Trek characters, so fleshed out, great character growth, but all DS9 was like that.

Deep space nine was my star trek my childhood my era, I respect and love the others but deep space nine will be my special, q'pla to this show and to the good Dr for doing this.
These need to be turned into animations and people allowed to get them.

[Intendant Kira seems to have a bad memory: "timid" Julian was so defiant he sparked a revolution, and got sentenced to death (by Kira) for killing Mirror Odo! I wonder if she's hoping he forgot... XD ]
