This restoration and repainting of an antique kitchen cupboard was carried out according the client's wishes.

I absolutely love the fact that it doesn't look like new. It looks old and used but still this piece has its own enchanting nature.

Great refinishing work. Sad to see the value of the cupboard have been stripped along with the original finish and decoration. I understand that was what its owners wanted, but for future reselling purposes, more than 90% of its original value is gone. Cheers
Unfortunately, it was not the original condition of the cabinet. The painting wasn't the original either.

The original finish was oil. This material was found on a farm in the 19th century.

what is the mixture you use for woodgraining?
Hi, what kind of pigment/ paint are you using for the wood imitation? A what do you use to fix the surface? Thanks and nice work.
Brown pigments. I buy them in paint shops. The surface is waxed
It’s a glazing medium mixed to your desired colour, can be oil or water based, look up wood graining

Эта картина типична для Баварии 19 века. Бедные фермеры пытались имитировать дорогую благородную древесину.
I was so disappointed to see the old annotation on the front of the door was removed :(
The cupboard is an old, Bavarian original. Unfortunately it was improperly restored. The painting was from the 80s and not original. The restoration and the authentic painting was a customer request.
So no need to be disappointed.

Beautiful - it looks just like some furniture I saw in Siebenbürgen (Romania) which of course is from the same tradition.
