It’s so evident that you love and respect the pieces you restore. Thank you so much for sharing your work with all of us. You find the most wonderful pieces to restore…so much character and history.👌
Bravo.... you must have been doing this type of work for a while based on your collection of hinges and pieces/parts... looking forward to watching more videos from you.
I love your videos and the furniture you restore, it´s amazing how you care about every little detail. I´m going to try restoring my flat´s staircase (not that old, 1940) that has been severy mistreated and I´m sure there´s a lovely wood hidden beneath the white paint. Since I´m a middle aged, petite woman, I guess I´ll go one step at a time (no pun intended) trying to get as good a result as you do. Thanks for sharing, it´s lovely to watch you work. What´s the name of your dog? Cheers!
It's good to hear people are starting to restore. it's a very interesting area of crafting. good luck with your stairs. No matter if it turns out perfect, you will love it if you rework it yourself. My dog's name is "neko" which is Japanese and means "cat" 😀👍
This piece of furniture was in a heat chamber. There the core of the wood is heated to 60 degrees Celsius. After 30 minutes it is slowly cooled. All parasites and their eggs and larvae die in the process.
the old kind of glue made from animal bones and skin. We call it "Knochenleim". The glue needs to be heated. I also use fish glue. Fish glue can also be processed cold.

Looks like fir. That’s what our house is trimmed in and we’re taking off all the paint. It’s difficult. Thanks!
This is spruce but it looks similar to fir. Removing the paint from wood is really hard work.🙃
@@Restaurierung, Especially when it’s soft wood like fir.
Nice restoration. Would you comment on your use of hyde glue on the restoration?
Thank you for the comment. What do you want to know exactly?
I enjoy watching your work on these old pieces. I see lots of woodworm holes on many pieces; what are you doing to make sure they are completely dead?

да, если мебель из икеи еще будет существовать через 100 лет. Спасибо за ваш интерес. Привет из Ruhpolding

what type of glue are you using or do you make your own very nice job

Did you replace that shelf? It was full of wood worm holes.
What "shelf" are you talking about?
@@Restaurierung the one inside the door.
We only replace parts when absolutely necessary. This piece of furniture has been in a warming chamber to kill the worms.
@@Restaurierung fair enough. I was just wondering. I suppose it adds character to the piece. I don't think I'd be keeping bread in it, lol.
Wie immer top
Vielen Dank 😁

In former days bread were stored in it. The bread was baked weekly on the farm in the bread oven
Ну почему на круглой вставке вы не сделали какой-нибудь узор, было бы достойно?
К сожалению, я не понимаю вопроса. Программа перевода неверна
