  • In this video we will show you how to restore an old oak table that is 50 years old. We will begin the restoration of the table by disassembling the table into two parts. We carefully separate each part of the table from each other. the main problem of restoration will be a large number of nails.
We'll show you how to hide the holes from these nails, as well as various tricks that you can repeat when restoring old furniture. A large amount of material on the restoration was filmed, and we decided to divide it into two parts. Happy viewing.

You have no idea how happy it makes me feel to see that you are the first person who puts dowls in holes that actually focus on the grain direction. When people just put the dowls in and after sanding it flat and i see the grain off from the main surface, i creench. As if i can remove it myself and fix the problem😆🤣

@@brendapatterson7123 absolutely spot on yes...even when there are screws screwed into something...some guys make it an effort to line the slots up in line or diagonally across each other😂👍

Many people would not take the time to take a second look at an old piece of furniture like this they would just use it for firewood but there is some beautiful oak in this piece & you saw the potential for restoration & an upgrade where needed. Such care & precision is to be admired. I look forward to the second part of this restoration. Looks like the prayers of the world are starting to show their effect as Ukraine starts to push the Russians back. I will continue to pray that the progress will continue & your country will be rid of this vile invasion by a greedy Russian President. You & your family stay safe & well & thanks for sharing. Cheers, Don from South Aust.

The type of nails that was used on this table look A L O T older than 50 years ago. I would say more like 125 years ago. I would guess that the original carpenter was a hobbyist making this table for function rather than long lasting beauty. You took from that foundation and made it into a thing of beauty. Good Job! Good skills.!!
