    This cabinet was made in 1804 and repainted in 1845, probably for a celebration such as a wedding. We wanted to recreate the cabinet as faithfully as possible to the original. The shadow of the original painting was only visible under a magnifying glass.
    この戸棚は1804年に作られ、おそらく結婚式などのお祝いのために1845年に塗り直された。修復にあたってはできるだけオリジナルに忠実に原画を再現した。原画の痕跡はルーペでやっと見ることができるくらいのものだった。

    Thank you you're restorations are important. They show how crafted furniture was made centuries ago and are still usable.
    Furniture of today will never last that long.

      You're right. Actually, everything should be built in a way that it survives for a long time and can be repaired easily.

    "Experience and dedication always gives the right results" my Mother used to say, but I must add, Passion, gives you excellency. Thank you for showing how with a little of these attributes an 'old' piece of furniture can be brought back to life to become an heirloom. Your great work is much appreciated. Cheers from New York.

      @@Restaurierung There's a great tradition of Bavarian Furniture in the US, particularly in the State of Pennsylvania, where a great number of German immigrants stablished themselves at the beginning of the 19th Century. The furniture they created is reminiscent of the old Bavarian styles they left behind. Nowadays those Folk Furniture pieces are some of the most expensive Antiques in the Country. I do appreciate the effort done to bring back the beauty of the old pieces of furniture that you repair. Great work though. Cheers

    Love the secret shelf. Easy to access in an emergency, but not so easy to detect. The original craftsman was not only an artist, but also clever. Can see that in some of the hardware, too. But of course, we out here in internet land only get to see this because a craftsman a quarter century later is able to restore and make visible the whole piece. Your videos are always an event here, and this is a particularly good one. Neko was all cat for this restoration. You should remind him that he is a dog! Thank you for showing us this work! 🇨🇦💕

    Your restorations are truly great I love how you keep them as an antiquity and keep to original techniques and do your best to duplicate the original finish and how you don’t try to improve on it and make it perfect, you allow it to show its age, I think it’s such a shame when people make an antique look like a new piece of furniture I feel that it’s not a true restoration. Also I just adore your dog.

    • @Restaurierung
      @Restaurierung  Год назад +2

      I did that with paint stripper. You have to have a bit of experience. You have to consider the exposure time, the temperature, the contact pressure and the type of paint stripper. It's different every time. Unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't work at all

    you are a true master and it is clear that you do your restoration work with passion. I have a question, in this and in your other videos I see that in the restoration part of the original painting, you pass a brush to remove the dirt and make the original colors reappear.
    What is this solution formed from, maybe turpentine?

    • @Restaurierung
      @Restaurierung  Год назад

      It's a different solution each time. Sometimes water, sometimes chemicals. Here it has been stripper. However, you need some experience. You have to take off the exposure time, the temperature, the contact pressure when rubbing, etc. Sometimes it doesn't work at all and the painting is lost.

    • @Restaurierung
      @Restaurierung  3 месяца назад +1

      Vielen Dank für den Kommentar. Die "Patina" ist später übergestrichene Farbe. Ich habe handelsüblichen Abbeizer von "Adler" benützt. Man braucht allerdings etwas Übung. Im Video das die nächsten Tage erscheint sieht man das man nicht immer jede Malerei komplett retten kann.

    I beg your pardon, but the more I look at your work, the more fascinated I am: I have an old painted Tyrolean chest that I am restoring and I am trying not to make any big mistakes.
    So I take tips from someone who - like you - is a master!
    I ask you if the shellac you pass (before waxing) is diluted with water, in what proportion?
    Do you think I can do the same on the painted parts of my chest (after cleaning them)?
    Does it give gloss and protection?
    Thank you for your attention

    • @Restaurierung
      @Restaurierung  Год назад

      The shellac is only used to fix the painting. Dissolve the shellac with alcohol. Ethanol works too. The mixing ratio is a matter of experience. Try a 1:1 mix on a test board with an painting on it. The shellac must be purified shellac. Otherwise the painting will be changed in color tone. The shellac gives no shine. When dry, it's almost invisible.

    Restauratorische Kunstfertigkeit vom Feinsten. Mich würde interessieren womit Sie den alten Farbauftrag entfernt haben ohne die alte Originalbemalung auch zu entfernen. Spiritus, Abbeizer...?

    • @Restaurierung
      @Restaurierung  Год назад +1

      Das muß man entsprechend der Farbe machen. Manchmal braucht man nur Wasser, manchmal eine Chemikalie. Hier war es Abbeizer. Die Einwirkzeit, Temperatur, Druck beim entfernen spielen eine wesentliche Rolle. Man braucht Erfahrung (und einige Misserfolge). Manchmal geht es, nach meiner Erfahrung, auch gar nicht.
