    • @electronics_hobbyist
      @electronics_hobbyist 2 года назад +1

      I have this same station about a year now and it's working fine, keep in mind that the seller said this iron is for small circuit board repairs like phones and things like that, small jobs and if you're an hobbyist, i usually solder small things so this works well for me, if you want something for bigger jobs etc, use a hakko

  • @OldSkoolF
    @OldSkoolF 2 года назад +3

    The YIHUA units with blower in the handle are the best cheapie's out there... All a hobbyist needs.. 898D+ & 8786D

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  2 года назад +1

      indeed I like them. The downside however is that it sometimes lacks power for larger elements. Like today I was trying to solder somethin like 2 mm in diameter, and it struggled a lot!

    • @OldSkoolF
      @OldSkoolF 2 года назад +1

      @@manCaveSweden Like I said... They fit 99% of a Hobbyist needs... If your doing regular work you'll need a better setup... I have a 898D+ and a 861DW... I rarely need the Quick.. I started with a 852D+ and the solder gun is amazing but the reflow is underpowered for anything over small SMD's.

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  2 года назад

      @@OldSkoolF Nice! you have few stations for different jobs. That's already above a "just hobby" -) . for the larger jobs i bought a used ersa icon, 1st gen and it's awesome. But it's missing the blower, so i actually bought the blower in this Yuiha 878 =) and the soldering iron is a pleasant bonus. For like 10bucks extra

      @@manCaveSweden You are correct sir... I have been longing for a better quality Iron.. I can't justify plopping down $700+ for a better machine..

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  2 года назад +1

      @@OldSkoolF Indeed. For hobby the only option i see is either gettin a station like this or a pre owned good brand if ou are lucky. Otherwise, of course if you are earnin money on this, than a pro level equipment should pay itself pretty fast.

    I am so glad your replacement went well and worked, and I am very impressed that you did not throw in the towel on the first bad one as I see allot of people do. Sometimes (no matter how good a product/company is) there is that bad one floating about and someone has to get it, and I am glad it was someone like you because you did not slam YIHUA as a bad product. I know this is a year later, and noticed your reply in the comments that it is still working great for you. I just ordered a YIHUA De-Soldeing station and should get it this week. I am excited about doing an un-boxing and review of that - I only hope and pray I don't have the issue you had on your first try LOL. Looking forward to more videos from you (as I just found you), and in the process of checking out other videos of yours that would interest me...

      @@manCaveSweden I finally was able to create my Review video of the Yihua 948 De-Soldering Station and will share it here. I am new to this, so my review doesn't come close to yours but we all must first walk through some mud - as we learn the most effective way to get to the other side as clean as possible LOL...
      My Review: ruclips.net/video/f9IFSYR9MKE/видео.html
      I am still learning to pay attention to the cameras while filming, so focusing issues won't arise or until I learn the best way to keep focus. I think I need a movable bench vise to clamp things in place as I work on them to keep better focus... It is a day-by-day learning process, and I welcome ideas from creators like you to help me grow.

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  Год назад +1

      @@Outside-In. yeah, the camera gear is tricky.. and the microphone.. I’m also learning and this is indeed an infinite way to grow ..
      but now the events in Ukraine shifted focus so not much time for videos

      @@manCaveSweden Sorry to hear about the issues in Ukraine. I will be praying that things get back to some kind of normalcy for you and everyone. Life brings to us many different and difficult situations with which we all must cope, but we must forge on to find our new tomorrows - this I do pray and sincerely Hope...
      Keep the faith my friend, stay strong - find someone who needs to laugh and make it happen, and in doing so - you will find a reason and the strength to keep on going...

    Hello, thanks for the analysis, I recently acquired a Yihua 899D-II which is a slightly newer version than the 8786D i but they should be similar in terms of operation. When I turn on the soldering station, I always hear a small noise like an electrical hum, I think it comes from the transformer, also the sound makes the case vibrate very slightly when I touch it (like a tingling). Does that happen to you too? Is it normal?

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  8 месяцев назад +1

      mine does not vibrate. I thnk some transformers behave like that. Maybe this is the sign of a bit lower quality. But I am not sure

    I'm a technician for gadget repair (mostly phone) did you recommend this product? i frequently repairing a charger port, usb port, and other but i still confuse to buy what station is good for me with low budget that i had

    • @manCaveSweden
      @manCaveSweden  Год назад

      it's a bit difficult to solder high thermal capacity elements with this one. i had an ERSA icon station, first generation and that was a much more capable station. but this can also do the job. So you have to see, if you want to save time and patience, maybe look for a more $$ station, if time is not an issue and you are fine heating usb port for a longer time m than this will work for you. plus here you have a heatfan, so for me it was important so i changed.
