Just realised when I saw this that today was D Day 🏃🏽 💨. Hope it went well you’ve certainly put in the effort 😰. Just tried to follow you on Strava to see how you got on (I never knew I cared so much 😳) can’t wait to see how you got on. I have you down as a very definite hopeful and with a fair wind I’m sure it’s mission accomplished 🤞
Gutted for u mate that fair wind must have been blowing the wrong way 😫 still as you mention in the clip as we get older we get a better perspective on things and the majority of runners of any age would take your time today so not a bad days work at all 🥇 It’s good to follow the two of you I’m in a similar situation in terms of spending a lot of time running with me Mrs who knocks me into a tin hat on age grading ect but I’m still fast enough to be able to pace her and support her and benefitting from the easier pace 😃 PS loved the marathon clip and we both agreed with much of what you said 👍
Good luck John, your build up towards the the 10k couldn’t be better, might as well say now Congrats on the sub 40 haha you got this ALL IN, 🏃🏽♂️👏🥳👊🏼👣🏃🏽♂️✅
Best of luck John, I've done wilmslow a handful of times, very fast first half (net down hill) km 6bis downhill also, elevation gain on km 7,8 & 9.. 10 is flat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A very chilly looking Hillsborough park there. Sounds like it's been a positive build up! I'm looking for a PB at Donny 10k on Sunday in what looks to be a return to normal service for the weather. Temps forecast for the low teens, basically tropical!
Snow Day! Did you get the day off of school 😅 ? Good luck for Sunday; interested to see how the bicarb goes. Interesting how you set your watch up. I'm thinking of doing that for the marathon and making it a workout rather than just a straight run. It worked really well on a longer run and might make the run a bit more interesting.
As I'm peripatetic it wasna WFH day 😉 Yes setting the watch up like that makes you focus on the moment rather than the vast expanse ahead. Would be interesting to see how you get on with it.
It’s a bit more than a kink between 8/9km 😅 There’s also a gradual incline at 6km It’s a great race, this will be my 6th time, though I would say Knutsford is “flatter” First half is net downhill and pretty much flat throughout It’s very well organised and there’s plenty of parking about, some good quiet roads to warm up on and the start area has plenty of space It’s about 1.5 miles from the finish back to the start, but it’s just along one road Good luck on the sub-40 👊🏼
@@tworunningbrooms personally we don’t park near the finish as the traffic is gridlocked, but many do. We normally park at the Riverside business park just off the A538 as you go under the railway bridge. It’s marshalled too and free. There’s some pay and display at Wilmslow Carrs which is also where the parkrun is The parkrun is pretty flat (apart from a few lumps at each end of the route) it’s sometimes a bit mucky and good fun in lovely park and there’s a nice coffee/food hut there too
I have a couple videos of the finish line for you and Dawn if you want me send them over - I am very loud so if you do want the footage you will need to mute me 🤣🤣🤣
I've often wondered what was the best colour hat to wear for Thursday runs. Thanks, John 😄👍 Best of luck for race day 💪🏃♂️
I'm glad to be such am influencer
All the best for Sunday John 👍
Thank you

Thanks Phil. If this is D-Day we established a slight bridgehead but have more work to do gaining control of Normandy. Thanks for following along.

Good luck for Sunday John. I will be attempting my first sub 40 at Doncaster 10k this weekend. Hopefully we both can sneak under 👍👍
Hope the weather holds well for you. That bit of service road I ran on is about 200m from the finish line.
Good luck for Sunday !! Hopefully the weather takes a turn for the better. Donny 10k for me
Yes fingers crossed. Just had an email that the race 'should be' going ahead. Good luck at Donny.

If only it were that simple... 😉
Go well on Sunday John! Great advice for the taper too 👌🏼
Thanks Sam.

Well spotted. Plenary in Concord. Have a good one at Donny if the weather will allow.
Good Luck for Sunday. I'm running it as well and hoping for a sub 43mins. Hope we both get the results
Good luck Jason. Dawn should be aiming for roughly that time. At present I'm hoping we both get to race given the forecast.
@tworunningbrooms Yeah it's not going to be the greatest conditions if it goes ahead.
Good luck for Sunday &! Thankyou for posting your progress !!!
Thank you. 👍
Go for it John 🎉 bring home the win or at least a sub40. It's been a good series. Your relentless and it's paying off !!
Thanks Matt. At present it's 50/50 whether the race will go ahead!

That's really useful information thanks. Based on what you've said is it worth parking nearer to the finish and warming up towards the start?

Have you seen the weather forecast? Good luck 😱
I've seen the email from the organisers discussing the possibility of a flooded course..m
@@tworunningbrooms such a shame for you. I hope you get a good shot at it John. If not Sunday, then in a few weeks.
@@mikedavies7492 Thanks

Yes please Kerry. That would be great Email is johnbroom@aol.com if files are too big I use WeTransfer
Very best of luck for Sunday John! Pressure off, run free, let the fitness show
Thanks appreciate it. Being able to run these races is a privilege. Good performances are a bonus.
