I was at Poolsbrook for my first Christmas parkrun. It was their 3rd highest ever attendance with 579, which made overtaking on the 3rd lap interesting. Fantastic support and hard work from all the volunteers. I tried to make sure I thanked as many as I could on my cool down after. Merry Christmas!
I did my 10th Christmas parkrun at Monsal Trail. We nearly came to Penistone as we had friends running there but needed one a bit nearer to home to get home for the girls. I do like Penistone, a lovely course.
Merry Christmas to you both and thanks for all the great videos. It was Peacehaven Parkrun for me where there was 241 finishers and I got a course PB, a lovely and unexpected Christmas present 😀.It's so great to be able to do a local Christmas day Parkrun, which wouldn't be possible without all the wonderful volunteers.
Thanks Dawn & John. Merry Christmas to you both. Great video and some interesting stats. I’m absolutely certain 2024 will see a massive increase in Christmas Day parkrun participation- it’s fast becoming a tradition. I did Robert ParkRun on Christmas Day last year but opted for a solo marathon distance run on Christmas Day yesterday. The footage of your panicked faces chasing the wayward drone, made me laugh. Think it’ll be a fantastic addition to your videos.
Happy Christmas! I was one of the 1044 who did York; amazing atmosphere. This was our first Christmas Day parkrun. Our kids are late teens so don’t get up early anymore. Would love them to come with us next year 😂
Merry Christmas John and dawn 🎉 we did coldhams common Cambridge Christmas day parkrun, there were 675. first time I've had to queue to get to the finish line 😮
Merry Xmas both. We did our local at Darlington South Park this morning along with another 560 runners and it was as buzzing 🎉 I tried out the adidas adizeros 🎅 left me and they felt good. I wish he’d left me a new pair of legs as well 😂
Hi John, thanks for the vid. We have done Scunthorpe, Burnley, Bramhall and Worsley Woods. NYD; Crewe,Wilmslow, St Helens, Watergrove, Hyndburn and Witton. This year we are going to Chasewater. Keep up the good work both.
I only ever did one Christmas Day parkrun - Barnsley back in 2012 - Bigger priority now- Grandson Louis aged 2 - But I will hopefully taking part on NYD
Bushy parkrun for me today. It may have been 26 back in 2004 when it was Bushy Time Trial, but today it was a whopping 2,973. A bit boggy across the top in sections too! Having done a 12 x 400 session yesterday I chose to tempo this one. Merry Christmas to both of you 🎉
Ah a few talking points here. Handy having a parkrun short stroll from home. I would have visions of waking up at 0855 and still making it :) Excited to see what the drone can do. I had thought of getting one but bit worried, like you here, of "flying off" and never to be seen again. Will have to check the specs of the Neo. So the Penistone course is nice "off road" old railway one with a lap of a muddy field for good measure :) Yeah that stats group is fine for publishing models of attendees at new parkruns especially if done by the admin but otherwise you fail the test of just asking a question and so not being a geek. Did my first Xmas Day parkrun at Bushy in 2010, then 2012, then ever year 2014-2019 but not been to one since. Today we were having lunch down in Wiltshire. Could have done one before we left but still feeling below par and still can't get past not "racing" one. Hope can show your true form in the 10K in a few days.
You would get some cool shots with the Neo. Going to try it out some more today. I note there are 15,000 members of that statsgeek group and only a few regular posters. I assumed questions would be welcome, or at least politely rebuffed. I got the impression I had trodden on someone's spreadsheet. Yes there are a few old photos available of signal boxes etc along the parkrun route. Perhaps NYD for your return to parkrun?
@@tworunningbrooms there is also a stats chat group which is like the everyday runner not elite version :) Will be "warm weather" training in Portugal over New Year and parkrun yet to come there or indeed Spain. How long does the drone battery last?

Seems a lot of people were out all across the country enjoying Christmas parkruns. Amazing! 😁

Merry Christmas Running Brooms 🎄 I’m a big fan of the Christmas PR, think there were 280 odd at Ipswich Chantry Park this year
Glad to see you mastered the drone in the end!
I never would have guessed that chap's costume 😅 He looked very fetching though!
Lucky me, I got a photo...😅
Thanks Dawn & John. Merry Christmas to you both.

Thank you 😊 Well done on another marathon distance run! 👏
Happy Christmas! I was one of the 1044 who did York; amazing atmosphere. This was our first Christmas Day parkrun. Our kids are late teens so don’t get up early anymore. Would love them to come with us next year 😂
Well done! Nice though that they are now old enough that you can do a parkrun without them. 🙂
Merry Christmas, Dawn and John ❤

Merry Christmas John and dawn 🎉 we did coldhams common Cambridge Christmas day parkrun, there were 675. first time I've had to queue to get to the finish line 😮
That's a big number. Looks like many parkruns had larger than usual attendance this year.

Thank you glad you had a good time.
Happy Christmas you crazy kids! I was there but I can't see myself on your video. 😢
23:04 for me so fairly pleased with it
If only you'd dressed in traditional WWF costume... 😀
@tworunningbrooms haha yes Macho Man Randy Savage !
I'll dress up as The Undertaker next Christmas... a 90s wrestler
Well done on your 13th 😉 different Xmas day parkrun. It was my 11th today (all different venues) 👍

Well done, especially with such large numbers there. 👏

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you. We did Lymington Parkrun today - newish course. Great fun.
Thank you, and happy holidays! 😊

Huddersfield had 882. Thank goodness Penistone was on or otherwise it would have been more mental than it was😂. Was there 2nd highest attendance ever
I remember we attended on a large one once, and they had an amazing funnel in place...
Another question (which may be removed by Broom admin). Is wrestling a Festive Costume ?? 😜
We were hoping someone could tell us? 🙂
Mezza Chrizza John & Dawn!!!
Here's to great 2025 for everyone! 😁
Cheltenham Parkrun for me. 923 people 🤯
Certainly a few there...🙂
Saw me did you see me 😂
Yes opposite way from everyone else!
@@tworunningbrooms I didn’t time that well ;)
