Does everyone know Metallicas past history? Is everybody who is commenting on this thread learned on metallica's history? Just curious. Because everybody seems to be talking shit on Lars and don't get me wrong but fuck him, I mean talk about some fucking huberous on that fucking jack off. I mean he plays music like a fucking amputee! Can't hold a note can't carrey a fucking tune. What I am saying is I am very aware that the most popular Metal band in history would not exist if it wasn't for that fucking Danish half twit named Lars Ulrich. It's his band and was formed by him. Now they might all be equals now but he put the add in the paper he picked the line up. So he might not be the best or even amazing but he plays in the pocket solid and the first 3 albums are a bitch especially an Justice for all I have played for 25 years and lived most of that in the Bay area were I was lucky enough to meet them along with many bay area and so cal epic thrash & metal bands so show some respect. If James did not steal most of Ride The Lightning minus the solos from there origanal lead guitarist DAVE MUSTAINE of Megadeth fame they would'nt be were they are today. Besides all true thrash metal musicians and fans know MEGADETH- RUST IN PIECE is the best Thrash album of the 80's-90's... Cheers

Trujillo is a true fuckin beast of a bassist. Go listen some Infectious Groove, Suicidal Tendencies, you'll see what I mean..... He says in the interview that challenge in Metallica for him lays in the songwriting experience and onstage performances. I'd put him into Messhugah's lineup without any doubt.
I like that Meshuggah is under the radar now. They are free to do what they want without the constraints that popular bands sometimes have put on them.

Rob seems like a guy that's just a good natured person. Like he doesn't let the money or the status go to his head. He's always seemed extremely genuine and grateful for everything that he has. I'm not saying that the others don't, but he seems very humble and kind. He's also a damn fine bass player. I loved him in Infectious Grooves.
I'm not a fan of metallica (well now a days) but I gained a lot respect for Rob to mention one of the most innovative bands that we will see in our generation.
i used to love metallica, but after i heard meshuggah and started understanding them, NO one could be as good or better than them (thats my opinion). however, with that being said, i don't hate metallica, i respect them, cuz they started a new metal scene. even meshuggah was influenced by metallica back in the day. dont disrespect the band who was the origin of other metal groups

Meshuggah's first album+ EP sounds like a combination of Pantera and Tool with Metallica/Slayer. Besides that, going into Future Breed Machine they are a completely different band.
i love both but i think the casual metallica-listener would explode from what Meshuggah plays XD saw them live at Wacken Open Air this year and it's unbelievable to hear Meshuggah play live :D
Like Tool, Meshuggah were game changers. They brought something completely original to the table and created a whole new sound, with countless bands trying to imitate them.
So glad that Rob is bringing Meshuggah to Metallica's attention. That with Kirk's solo with them awhile back, and they might even catch some of that influence everyone else seems to fail at constantly the past few years.
