    I watched Dr Jandial on another podcast and the interviewer was “

    He is so patient centered and loving. If I ever had a brain tumor I would want him to be my surgeon.

    No preparation. No pattern to follow? Unexpected crisis? I simply pray "show me the path"...and without fail, the path appears. Still dancing and singing my way at 58. Crisis management is so helpful. Resilience and accessing the calm/alert state is stuff I wish I'd learnt at school. Many thanks to you both for bringing these issues to the public arena.

    Focused breathing helped me when I was lost on a hike and had an asthma attack where I couldn't get much air in and out of my lungs. It confused me that something as simple as breathing techniques could be as effective as medicine. I grew up in a medical family where drugs were "cures" and I have had a hard time accepting non-drugs as medicinal. It has been a struggle to accept that I have the "power" in many situations to return to a calm state all on my own. Hearing Dr. Jandial use breathing to focus his mind and body in surgery validates it for me. Thank you for sharing this.

    A child’s life is what we give them and show them…. To keep their minds active and experience joyful events to create memories for life….I chose to take my son to sports events throughout Texas, we are avid Astros baseball fans, I take him to as many games as possible, UT football games, Dallas Cowboys games, SA Spurs basketball games, and he loves it !! I believe it will help him learn from these experiences at his age…his first game he was 6 mos old, but at 10 yrs old I started taking him on a regular basis.

    Please remember: once a person has spiraled into depression, addiction, OCD, etc., they are pretty much helpless. Usually, they become overmedicated or left to their own demise. Most of us don't know what to do or make things worse. We also don't enjoy witnessing vulnerability; it reminds us of our own.
    We can say an individual has to want help, has to reach out, but many are beyond even the imagining of change.
    Community support is so important. We saw that in COVID up close.
    People too far into chaos need to be attended to until they can even make a conscious choice.
    Create safe spaces and moments for all to have access to love and dignity without expectations.
    It's amazing what can emerge.

    That's so funny, I randomly found this video.. When he talked about what he did with his kids and no homework but preferably talking about topics and let them teach him how they are thinking, I got hooked..
    that's exactly how my father raised me.. At a certain age, he talked /discussing with me every weekend and since childhood he "threw" me in very different situations and places..
    when I entered university I was like "oh, that's like home" :) and when I studied for a year in Madrid, I was like "here I come"
    unfortunately my father died while I was a teenager but he prepared me for life. interestingly enough I score lower on anxiety on the IPIP than the average person and I score higher on self-efficiency. Maybe that's an outcome of being raised like that, I don't know.
    I really think now we should change some educational rules for parents. I am 44 and my father didn't knew in the 70/80s anything about it, but he was cool with no learning by heart because he was like, "yeah you should understand it but you can look it up later. But is more important is that you can navigate challenges when life gets messy and it will get messy from time to time".
    It's pretty cool that there's a person who can explain what happened to me while growing up. 💚 Thanks for the video.

    Vegan was Not better for me. I have resolved my health issues by going to an animal based, whole food diet. Industrial animal operations aren’t good for people, animals, or the planet. Proper rotational grazing for ruminants, chicken tractors, and rotational feeding outside for pigs improves the biology of the soil, increases the number of species living on the land. Just like whole food vegan diets can be the answer for some, whole food animal diets are the answer for others. We all have different physiology. There are also damaging and restorative ways to grow crops. So whether vegan or animal based, we can all make the best choices we can afford to support farmers that are raising animals and crops in ways that are better for health of humans and earth.

    • @francesco5581
      @francesco5581 3 года назад +3

      i think that one decides to go Vegan for moral issues. Btw the best diet is vegan+some fish, and after 55 one need to add some proteins (like eggs for example). I dont think there is much difference from person to person but some people like meat too much and that overcome moral implications.

    • @drumjod
      @drumjod 3 года назад +2

      Jeffrey Dahmer resolved his health issues by going to an all human based, whole food diet. Others resolve their health issues by eating dogs along with a whole food diet. The dogs were all humanely raised in a way that improves the biology of the soil and increases the number of canines living on the land. Starting out as puppies, these dogs wag their tale in excitement as they are reminded that they're a good boy or girl every day. They spend most of their time running around on sustainable farmland, frequently interacting with children who love them and giggle at how adorable they are when the puppies chase them. Just like cow, chicken, and pig based diets can be the answer for some, whole food dog diets are the answer for others. These dogs are provided an incredible quality of life right up to the moment they are slaughtered for human consumption. The sustainability, human companionship, and joy they experience as puppies imbues their meat with a noticeably superior flavor compared to dogs who are raised and slaughtered in factories.
      Imagine having a cow or pig as a pet since the time they were a calf or piglet. Plenty of videos on RUclips showing how adorable and lovable they are. Wouldn't you love them the same way you'd love a dog? I enjoy meat too and haven't stopped eating meat personally, but I have a lot of respect for people who don't eat meat out of compassion for animals. After typing this, I'm wondering if I will find it more difficult to eat meat in the future. I don't have to slaughter the animal myself, so I'll probably forget where the cooked flesh comes from. Hopefully the animals I eat didn't have to suffer. Out of sight out of mind, right?

      @@drumjod Right, I grew up loving sausages, wurstels, salame... all deliciously italian made... And then something change, you start to love life too much and you dont want to be responsible for the death of another living thing that, like us, would have liked to live a long and happy life. That thoughts make a vegetables delicious and meat much less. You feel really at peace with everything you have around, it's not just a trend.

    Every video I watch if Rahul Jandial is so fascinating so profound it feels like it pushes my brain past it’s limits. I have ADD and I normally get bored and start to wonder when I watch these type of videos, but yours I barely blink lol. Every sentence is gold. Even the fact I’m typing this while the video is paused shows the amount of concentration that it takes for me to understand your videos, and the level of appreciation I have for it. Loved the exposing kids to as much as possible to develop different parts of their brain, how one instance of child trauma can destroy certain parts of the brain, how spacial navigation can be improved by learning how to navigate without gps, and how that part of your brain the temporal lobe grid cells builds cognitive reserve and helps ward off dementia! (I think my grid cells are non existent btw lol)

I am otherwise extremely physically healthy & maintain a healthy lifestyle as best I can I feel my mental health is deteriating as I have had to let go of activities that kept me occupied on an ongoing daily basis. Is surely pretty deep, especially the second part that is quite awesome. I find it lacking a bit of "spirituality", is a bit too materialistic. Learning, growing, neuroplasticity, medicine, smart words , matter absolutely nothing without a bit of spiritual view on life.

      He's a doctor. He says deep breathing has a measurable positive effect on the human body. Since the body and spirit are one, that for me is already spiritual. But yes, you can add/supply the spirituality if you want.
