    The actual method:
    1. Identify the habit you want to break.
    2. Write down the triggers that lead to the habit.
    3. Write down the negative consequences of the habit.
    4. Write down the benefits of breaking the habit.
    5. Create a clear intention statement that you will repeat every day.
    6. Meditate for 30-45 minutes every day.
    7. Visualize yourself breaking the habit and living your life without it.
    8. Take action towards your new habit.
    9. Celebrate your success.

    I'll be 9 years clean off hard drugs in November. I stopped being a victim, became independant as fuck and am truly happy now. I cured social anxiety disorder, ptsd, cptsd and depression with meditations. Now I just wanna help other people break free. Life is such a beautiful experience when you live in the present moment

      I'll have been on daily hard drugs for 5 years now, my doctor tells me too. Not joking. They even want to up my dose, asking about it every 2-3 time i need my (paper for meds, missing english word). Hard drugs for life baby :P

      @@lovewins9311 Watch the video, they have a pretty good "guide" to get rid of any sort of habits. Tho you may need to prolong the process with a few weeks, to avoid going cold. So write down how much, write target date for 20-25%, tapper down and on target date start the 9 day run as per the video. There's not really anyway to tell you in details without censorship kicking in

    I healed my chronic pain by simply making a decision to be well. I was so married to my pain that it absolutely ruled my life. Once I made the decision to be well, all sorts of miraculous things started to happen ❤️

      To a point. That's kind of a ridiculous statement to make that you can overcome any difficulty. Imagine living in an apartment and a fucking cruise missile with an 800lb explosive crashes into it. Suddenly life goes beyond being in the present and instead assuming a primordial character.

    It is an every day practice. I discovered Dr. Joe shortly after my husband passed away in 2013, along with Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay. I was in such a grief stricken, devastated, negative state and these life teachers pulled me out of the pit. It is an every day practice though. You have to get ahead of your thoughts before your feet even touch the floor in the morning. I’ve had times where I have backslid but I always praise myself for getting back on the horse because it’s so easy to just throw it all into the wind and say “forget it!” Your present and your future depends on it. That’s kind of the mantra I say to myself every day. ‘Watch your mind. Beware of the dark winding road that your thoughts can take you down. Your present and your future depends on it.’
    Thank you so much for this segment. I have missed seeing current material with Dr. Joe.

      I lost my wife suddenly 3 months ago. At first I refused to let her go and wanted her pictures all over the place to remember her. The idea of a future hindisght withour her was almost as painful as the thought that she actually died. At some point I realized that the only way to stop being in pain and carrying sadness around with me all day was that I actually had to do the very thing I dreaded doing. I had to let go, the past is trruly an anchor and keeps us from moving to a brighter future. I have found Dr. Disoenza invaluable. He is saying things I mostly knew, but he actually has a path forward. I never had a direction before just an idea of what I needed to do. I am in a much better place now and I have regained my optomisim for my future. Your mind is truly what leads your emotions, lets get in control of it.

      which makes sense- so many addicts suffer from lifelong childhood traumas- during childhood the mind is essentially incapable of thinking outside the context of emotions- that's how you have all the temper tantrums of a toddler when things just don't go their way, when an infant is in any sort of distress, a loud noise, hunger, diaper change, lonely, the ONLY way it communicates that emotional stress is through crying out for others to help them deal with that emotional stress for them, when a child fails to develop PAST that stage- due to neglect or abuse- they retreat into their mind so much that it becomes almost like a cage- and that addiction, whatever it is, is essentially a sedetive for the angry/scard animal stuck in the cage- it makes life inside that cage bearable because it takes away all that pain.

      I wish they were readily available in my place.
      Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac.
      He's constantly talking about killing someone.
      He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

      Cole Robinson. Extreme works on weight, probably because changing brain states to fasting obliterates other emotional states and fasting is itself meditative, even if manic and active.

      Food addiction is real.and I deal with it too. There are tricks tho. What are your techniques? I like to eat more natural thing and ween off of processed foods especially ones with msg. Same for caffine and sugar. I ween off. And sometimes fast, and "cheat" in line with my cycle. Drinking at least 2L of water a day helps too.

    One of the things I did repeatedly for a couple of years is to write down a given trauma, and then rewrite it in a humorous way as though I am working on a stand-up comedy routine. The shift of perception is one of the most crucial starting points to change the way we think and feel about a trauma. In extreme cases where the aftermath of trauma lingers and continues to harm the person, it gets more challenging, which is when it becomes more important to use perception altering aid and allow it to take its time. Progress every day is great, and accepting setbacks is also quite helpful. Sending love and calm to all.

    This is so spot on! I’ve been dealing with my addictions for over 2 decades. It’s all about how we deal with our anxiety,boredom, stress. We all go to our go to comfort zone - drugs, sex, gambling etc… we just cannot give it up. It’s tooo comforting. But as he stated - we need to broaden our focus. It’s a struggle daily. I’ll put effort starting TODAY

    Mushrooms completely changed my whole life. I became a better version of myself
    This experience gave me a lot of confidence about myself and my body. A bunch of bad thought/behavior patterns were broken. One of these were pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that thing will be fine, this is one thing that I heard throughout the trip; Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me(although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before.

      The Trips I've been having have really helped me a lot,I finally feel in control of my emotions and my future and things that used to be mundane to me now seem incredible and full of nuance on top of that I'm way less driven by my ego and I have alot more empathy as well

    This is truly the best video I have seen describing addiction and the fact that emotions need to be regulated in order to assist breaking addictions. Trauma is like a snapshot picture that kidnaps us and our minds keep replaying the scene so we see that picture again. When I no longer drank alcohol years ago, I realized I was using it to emotionally regulate.

      Did you know that there is a modality where you can release the trapped emotions within the subconscious that are negative? We can meditate and still not get rid of these trapped emotions in the subconscious , so if you still have stagnant, trapped emotions within your chakras and within your subconscious meditation is not going to get you the complete healing that you need… Sometimes we have to layer modalities to heal… For me, I had PTSD, anxiety, depression, and autoimmune disease… I was doing Joe Dispenza‘s meditations daily… But I just needed some extra help, I needed to be able to quickly release these trapped emotions of unworthiness, guilt, fear, anxiety, depression, codependency, and the list goes on.
      After I finally released all of these… I was able to heal. Doctor Joe’s work is amazing. Also look into this work… I will share my practitioners info here so you can see what I’m talking about. We can all heal and this modality really is the breakthrough for me.

    Ten years ago I was diagnosed with early onset parkinson's at 33. Since then, I have read and re-read Dr. Dispenza's four books as well as the Ramtha white book he references in his first book. I have spent thousands of hours meditating using his guided meditations. While there have been improvements, the cure has still eluded me. Today I learned that I have been doing it wrong. LOL. Thank you Dr. Chatterjee for asking him a question that has been missed by so many other interviewers. He gets into his think box before he meditates. Fantastic!

    I can attest that meditation does work! I never understood why everyone kept talking about it. But since I have had extensive therapy this year, I finally understand and get it. It’s all about slowing us down and keeping us in the present. We cannot be creative when we are not in homeostasis. Getting triggered over and over and over again and not understanding why is crippling. I thought for years I had beat my trauma bc I was “dealing” with my anxiety on my own. I was able to overcome it- but it still kept creeping up. It wasn’t until I got serious about changing and reached out and asked for help that I started to gain the awareness that is discussed in this video. Awareness is the key to be able to change! I pray everyone who needs it finds the courage within theme selves to throw out a lifeline!

    Long story below: TLDR: Talk about what happened, face the challenge, whether it's your own father or the person who traumatized you.
    The part starting at 52:00 about trauma is the one that stuck by me the most but I have some side notes after dealing with my own childhood trauma recently. I was abused by a babysitter when I was 4-5 years old. For years I felt like I was less than someone else, that I had to be good in order to make sense of this evil world. This was my way of coping with (not fixing) things. Last week my girlfriend broke up with me after 2 years of love and one emotional outburst of anger. I felt so discouraged about my life, so angry at who I was and why I couldn't be "normal" like anyone else that I went to my parents' place and asked them to tell me everything about what happened. My dad started rambling the usual nonsense: "How can this impact you after all these years", "You are always so labile". I felt so much anger and hatred for those words that I let out a primal scream, shocking my dad who then began to reprimand me, only to be answered with another guttural howl. My parents had never heard anything like it from me and my mom started mediating to avoid a physical altercation (would have been the first time ever where I felt like I needed to beat some sense into him) and we got to the bottom of things. As it turned out, my dad never knew the full extent of what happened. He thought the guy who did that to me "only flashed his penis" and "only talked about a special ointment. I explained to him that this guy had touched me, forced me to touch him and had sexually assaulted me multiple times. I told him that after he was done with me, I stood by the door, still crying, just to protect my brother in the room next door by listening to that person's movement. I told him that one day, I heard him open my brothers door and that I confronted him in the hallway where he told me: "If you ever tell anyone what I did, I will do it to your brother too." It was only after this and seeing my dad's confused and angry look that I realized that all these years of incomprehension from his part where due to a lack of information, not a lack of empathy. My anger disappeared like snow before the sun and my dad and I never have been better now. I got triggered into this whole thing after calling child services, explaining to them what happened to me, only to hear that they can't provide me with any details because of GDPR regulation and because it happened in the 90's and was part of a paper archive that was never digitized. My parents had reported the incident (with a lack of information because I never could tell them what happened) so this started my thought process of: "What if this predator is still out there, unmonitored, destroying other children's lives? After the argument with my dad, I solved many questions that spooked around in my head for years. Who did this to me, where does he work, is he still a threat to me (irrational but always present) and is he a threat to others? I went to the police to report what happened, not because I'm still angry about what happened to me, but to make sure it doesn't happen again to others. I found out that the person who did this to me is now gay, and having two adopted cousins myself, I can close this off knowing that my report will disable him to go through any adoption process as the risk bad intentions is too great. The moral of the story is: Talk about what happened, face the challenge, whether it's your own father or the person who traumatized you. There is no possibility of change if you carry years of misunderstanding without knowing for sure. I had talked to many psychologists only years after what happened but I never felt like anyone could understand me. I know now that I would have never been able to get meaningful results there, thinking that "if not even my father can understand that what happened to me has an impact, how could a complete stranger?
    Good luck to anyone fighting their own demons. They will always be present but living with them instead of fighting the fact that they are there is key to getting better and growing. I recently started enjoying poetry and the poem that drives me everyday was written by Nikita Gill:
    I will not have you, without the darkness that hides within you.
    I will not let you have me, without the madness that makes me.
    And if our demons cannot dance, then neither can we.

I cannot adequately express how tremendously helpful this CD has been on my spiritual journey!! Two thumbs up and 10 stars!

      align yourself with your genuine self- incorporate your shadow- over come all the people who taught you that you weren't enough- that you had to be different, act different, that anything you did was not worth being/doing. When you put on a mask of what others expect you to be- you lose sight of who you are, and the person who you are gets replaced by this shallow empty human being who now has to drown out the cries and anguish of that person you left behind to suffocate slowly for the rest of your life.

    Every addiction is a reflection of a mental hurt we experienced in childhood. It is the disrespect or hurt we carry on that parents inflicted on us. People who hurt themselves do so because they don’t love themselves. They don’t love themselves because no one did.

      To say “EVERY addiction”, is a very ignorant and close-minded statement. I would certainly agree that the majority of addictions do stem from childhood trauma, in one form of another. And although trauma can come in countless forms, there are so many reasons a person might find themselves stuck in active addiction, not every case is a result if childhood trauma.

    Dr. Joe knows what he’s talking about early in my life because I couldn’t understand why I was so upset about feelings and emotions and things people would say or do and my reactions to them. I started mentally nitpicking myself about how could I do it better he puts it into words. This is fabulous. This really does work! And I have to say you also have to work on your body not by putting yourself down, but by taking up some form of exercise that helps you get rid of that creases in your brain that keep you, remembering that event even worse than they were I love Dr. Joe’s work. It is the truth!

    Iwas a herion adict for many years and something was missing in my recovery until I heard JD talking about quamtum field, electromagnetism etc. My live is way better healthier and joyful than before .

    Thank you! This was absolutely amazing and true. I'm going on 9 yrs this yr, and in the beginning I did not see any light at the end of my tunnel. I thought for sure that death would be my only way out 'crying now just talking about it all and reliving the situation..., but low and behold that is not the case. There is light I just had to reach out for it and no matter how many times I fall off the wagon I get up and get right back on again. At first I was always ready to give up and give back in to the grips of addiction, however I didn't, everytime i would relapse i would say to myself 'well here i am... done messed up and used again so who cares now might as well just keep right on using. That was one of my biggest set backs. I self sabotaged very badly every chance i got i was my biggest problem my mind held me captive, made me prisoner but.. here i am though, glory to god on the highest of highs. I am happy, healthy and still on my road to recovery and I guess I always will be a recovering drug addict. I hung in there and i have a routine these days and I live by a schedule every single day. This gives me stability and keeps me on the right track. I'm currently taking suboxone for addiction treatment, but I want more than anything to be able to come off of that as well. So then I can finally say I am free from the bonds of addiction. I pray all through out my day. I meditate a lot and I do a lot of self talk and motivation for myself. I have found a love for myself that I did not even know existed bc I was so lost in darkness that I did not love myself at all. Now day's I love myself and my family. I appreciate them in a whole new way. I got all of my emotions back as well and now I can actually laugh and cry naturally. When I was on drugs I had no emotions left I had blocked them all not wanting to feel anything. Thanks again for this good news.     There are many therapists who deny the importance of forgiveness. My experience with the ho oponopono prayer has shown me forgiveness goes way beyond the personal and has nothing to do with condoning. I've been introducing the prayer on a daily basis an hourly basis.. every minute! Slowly infiltrating my subconscious mind!!! So glad to have discovered this interview... thank you

      @@loungeloverz there’s a lot of ways to do this. Doing a short walking meditation usually works well for me. Also tapping (EFT) can be helpful if that doesn’t work or you’re experiencing strong emotions. Hope this helps!

    I’ve adopted Dr Joe’s meditation in my morning routine. Today I felt extremely inspired to be great. Overwhelmed with love!
    Afterwords, I helped my son pick up a heavy couch. I have a saw wrist. When we got to his place, I said “I can’t do this!” And as I said that a guy pulled up over the other side of the road, came over and said “Do you need a hand? I’m a furniture removalist.” I was so appreciative and grateful; and just kept thinking this is the universe at play.

Particularly your question re question about not being stuck in trauma brought out "insight doesn't necessarily result in change". Clinging to the known instead changing the emotion. THIS! Also exploring Dr Dispenza's mutual ritual about setting the tone in his morning meditation were both (I hope) game changers for me. Going to listen to this multiple times. 🙏

    So does this mean that people don’t have to take medication for anxiety and depression? Or for ADHD and insomnia? Or drugs that help you stop craving substances? I’ve just started taking medication for unresolved trauma, PTSD, insomnia, anxiety and depression and alcohol addiction. I don’t have the natural joy and zest for life I had but I do have improvement in other areas. Something inside of me questions if I should be taking medication.

    Every morning I get my coffee I sit in my chair with my golden retriever, I get a notepad and a pen and I write my intentions for the day. I write I intend to have a great day. I intend to feel joy. I intend to have fun. I intend to have positive interactions with everyone I encountered. I intend to laugh. I intend to have safe travels. And sew on. I pull up a RUclips video on like morning affirmations and I listen to that for like 15 minutes while I drink my coffee. I do not check my email or the News. I get in the shower eat breakfast and then I go to work. I tend to have a great day every day. I have fun every day. And then when I’m in bed at night I practice gratitude.
    I say I’m grateful for my bed. I’m grateful for my comfortable covers. I’m grateful for a hot shower. I’m grateful for my food. Grateful for my house. Grateful for my son grateful for my dog and so on it makes a huge difference. When you go to bed in a better mood and wake up without all that stimulation, it just said today on such a good tone.

    I am at the very beginning of my healing journey and although ALL the videos are great but they seem to be fast paced and a variety of many ideas at once. Question-is there a step by step guide that goes at a slower pace with reinforcements? I bought the audio book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself and I’m really enjoying it. So grateful. Any other suggestions?

    Huge kudos @51 minutes, he clearly gets it. Curiosity is something we have control over, and if it becomes sincere, embraced...those are the ingredients for love. Though the Dr describes the order wrong. You have the anxiety or bad moment, you first have to go to calm before curious. You may want to be curious, but until you calm you cant transition to curious and plannt the seeds of love

    I have done 6 rounds of ibogaine for addiction, which is iastronomical knowing that it takes just one session to get a seasoned 30-40 year user off of the hardest drugs (which wasn’t me). It’s the changing of the mind that I was really struggling with. It was the letting go I needed help with. The addiction was just a vehicle for me the continue the cycle of pain and revival over and over. I trust this will be my year.

    Was having a stress ful morning . Listening to Joe always helps me feel better. I went from frustrated to happy in about 20-30 minutes.

    For those that want real dopamine highs, should try cold immersion, work up to 4 min a day (safely). Your hormonal system will be exercised and youll feel like your high. Combine this with meditation, specifically dynamic training to be able to pull that alpha brain state at any moment, as well as breathwork and you will be able to be totally blissed out at any moment for as long as you want to on command. It may take an awakening in your life to understand this, but if your searching and ready to move beyond/ let go of some of the physical suffering we chose to go through, there is total harmony when we are ready for it. Kinda feels like that buzz you get from drinking, but without any of the shitty parts, and still having fast reactions etc. It may be similar to the samyana or meditation when your active. If your suffering, fast forward to see if you can understand why your suffering it may be for you or others around you. The lowest troghs in the ocean lead to the highest waves, and the opportunity to ride those waves - its for the experience and we can enjoy every moment of it if we can understand how to surf.

    I am about 18 months in to an escalating substance addiction. I'll be broke in 3 or 4 months and there are now regular failures at work. No one knows for sure I'm an addict, but I'm certain there is concern rising that something serious is up. Right now I'm on my third day without sleeping or eating. It feels like I'm watching my world get torched in slow motion and the end state is clear and inevitable. I stop from time to time but start back with more intensity. Those decisions to start again feel like climbing in to a soft warm bed when you want nothing else but to fall asleep. I'm high as I'm typing this, and this is the first time I've expressed this outside of my own thoughts. Maybe it's a step in the right direction, but honestly, right here right now at this moment, I don't care.

    l have been doing the same Dr. Joe's meditation for three years, and l feel different. I show up daily deliberately thinking, feeling and acting in a way that will propel me toward my goals. I am more conscious and more compassionate with others and with myself, especially when l have to remind myself of who l no longer want to be. Every day is anew. It's magical. Dr. Joe is my north star.

      @@richardsmith6083 l have had some difficult decisions to make around forgiveness myself. What has worked for me is always reminding myself that hate and anger only work to take me further away from my goals. So when l notice those feelings, l remind myself that it's the old self at work. Then l send out love. I do this over and over, and with time, the frequency of the thoughts reduces and dissipates. It takes commitment to who you want to become.
