To be honest, I love that the straps are not sewn entirely onto the fabric. I think they can come in handy for attaching something, like a water bottle or hanging a cardigan or scarf without taking up the bag.
I like the straps like that. It means the bag won't get pulled out of shape. I remember my Aunty using a wooden mallet with material bound around it and pounding her scraps so that they wouldn't bulge. She was also an amazing seamstress 😊
I love that wadding trick. I have bags of scraps and I was just donating them to primary schools but now I'll keep them and just use this trick instead.
Love your videos. Just found this older one. I am a knitter and would use this as a project bag which would make those side straps come in hand for attaching knitting tools like a small foldable scissors and other things. I like the loose side pieces and love the bag too just as it is.
So pretty. Love that material! Next time try hiding the straps in between your two pieces of material where you put the scraps. When you sew the top it will secure the straps. But the bag looks great as is!
Love the bag and the use of serger scraps for wadding! I've been saving mine for a while now to stuff a dressmaker's ham, but I think I'll make a bucket bag 1st!
So intially the plan is to hand sew in a drawstring bag, but it didn’t work out haha! For my normal crossbody bags, I have the overlocker seams exposed on the inside 😊🌿
Hello I’m new to your videos and I think there great I been thinking to recycle for a long while as love to make my own styles of things but I’m a newbie to it so can I ask what’s the best way to start thank you

Ooo I like that! The ‘bag’ is currently a plant pot holder in the house 😂

This would also make a nice dog bed and definitely use up a lot of scraps
Ive done them before too!🙌
I have been saving all my tiny fabric scraps and threads and I didn't know why until I watched your video. Thx!

Absolutely love it! How do you hide the raw edges on the inside? X

@@afrayed_upcycling I like the sound of the overlocked seams, I never even thought of that idea. Thanks
