People seeing their homes literally go up in flames and you expect them to stand there and be like, "ah yeah. Can't be mad that I have no home anymore and that I have to flee for my life from these fires. People in Gaza are dying!"
In the case of detached small homes like in Altadena, I wonder if there are fire-proof fabric that you can cover the entire house with to prevent embers from burning it to the ground!!
There is a guy, ret fire chief, that sells a smal baby blanket sized blanket to put out small kitchen fires. It's probably some sort of fiberglass material. Reusable. I bet he's having a lightbulb moment atm. 💡
I was watching coverage of the fires and was wondering why the utility company still had the gas on to many houses? Some were completely burned to the ground and gas pipes were on fire.
2:10 why there was no water in the hydrants ? In California: Estimates suggest there are over 1 million fire hydrants statewide, as urban areas like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego are densely covered to ensure fire safety. Los Angeles County alone: It has approximately 118,000 fire hydrants maintained by various agencies like the Department of Water and Power. Where did all the water go ?
Yep. Canada sent that amazing craft to help us almost a year ago when we were burning up in Kern County. I moved here from Los Angeles, then it caught fire. We were spared. My old neighborhood is still standing aotm.

The nerve of some folks putting Drones in the air in a time like This ! If that plane were to crash it would have caused yet another fire . THAT PERSON needs to be charged ASAP!
The wind nobody can control but the fact that people doesn’t have insurance because the government failed to meet the requirements, has no water, reduced the fire department. This is criminal negligence.
The insurance companies and all other mega corporations are the government, making laws that suit them: Merchants and master manufacturers are, in this order, the two classes of people who commonly employ the largest capitals, and who by their wealth draw to themselves the greatest share of the *public* consideration. . . As their thoughts, however, are commonly exercised rather about the interest of their own particular branch of business, than about that of the society, their judgment, even when given with the greatest candour. . . The interest of the dealers, however, in any particular branch of trade or manufactures, is always in some respects different from, and even *opposite* to, that of the public. To *widen the market and to narrow the competition, is always the interest of the dealers.* To widen the market may frequently be agreeable enough to the interest of the public; but to narrow the competition must always be against it, and can serve only to enable the dealers, by raising their profits above what they naturally would be, to levy, for their own benefit, an absurd tax upon the rest of their fellow-citizens. Adam Smith, An Inquiry into the Nature and Cause of the Wealth of Nations, (1776), Ch. 11, ¶¶261-262. Fire, tornado, blizzard, hurricane after hurricane, lenders will require to insure but lenders, in nominally regulated sectors, will check out or under insure. Your government will continue to subsidize the insurers, because there must be a business friendly "job creating" environment that you buy into. +++ This has been a public service announcement. We now return to the Kardashians already in progress. +++
Even super strong wind but without amber cannot create big fire. But with amber, water cannot put off fire completely. President Trump was very right for this by talking with Finland’s president. It is the same way as other countries always do as well. Forest management, clean and chop dry plants, minimize plants having oil in them. Need a real experienced forest, land and water management expert for such huge problems. Why insurance companies recognize these problems obviously but all gov departments cannot know it??? This is so sad. Countries like Norway (Norwegians call their country the forest nation) have long ago developed forest management practices to prevent this. While nothing is foolproof, smart forest management would have significantly reduced the damage. It's not like this is not predictable. Someone just blew it and keeps blowing it. This is unnecessary suffering. Good forest management would have cost much less than the re-building and suffering of all this damage. Maybe some of that $24 Billion California has spent on their homeless problem, which seems to be worse than ever, should have been spent to benefit all the homeowner and business owners. $24 Billion seems like a very generous amount. Where did all that money go? Did anyone purchase new, expensive multimillion dollar homes recently?
I grew up in California when the forests were managed. Every spring we'd see the crew out doing controlled burn of underbrush. Then California decided that it was not necessary (because it cost a lot of money), and went for a more natural approach. Just fyi.
Norway doesn't have a climate of wet several months (when vegetation grows and thrives) followed by dry several months (when all the vegetation dries out) like California. Norway management is easy. And someone help me to understand....about 48% of all land in California is owned by the feds, including 57% of all forests in the state in 18 national forests. Out of control fires happen all the time in those forests. Shouldn't the feds maintain those lands? Another 49% of all land in California (including 40% of all forests in the state) is privately owned by individuals, families, farmers, ranchers, corporations, etc. I understand the state of California has certain power over private lands, but not absolute. Shouldn't those private owners be responsible also? Most fires in Southern California occur not in forests, but on shrublands. Managing shrublands is more sensitive than forests because too much clearing can create landslides (another common risk in Southern California) when the rains come.
Wood as construction material, has to be changed. Concrete walls, with reduced wood usage, and wooden roofing could be tried out. Steel should be used as well. For quake resistance, use japanese methods. Learn from the mistakes of this event. Fire zone each blocks of homes separate, with glass or ceramic fire walls. Plant trees to cool air inside cities. Install atleast one co2 and temp sensors, inside each firezone. In light of a predicted quake chance there, maybe even avoid building there again, or build floating type homes.

Actually, yes it is. The creation of plastic uses fossil fuels, which contribute more than three quarters of greenhouse gases. The worsening wildfire crisis in California over the last three decades has been directly linked by scientists to climate change.
The average house in the Palisades is $3.5 million....I think these people will be ok. This isn't the working class of NC being affected. These people can go stay in their vacation homes.
Exactly. I’m not defending celebrities by any means but I’m tired of all the people showing no compassion to them, yeah they are rich and probably have 5 other homes but they still lost a home. They aren’t special creatures they are just like all of us. I feel bad for EVERYONE not just the working class, let’s learn to be a better community instead of hating on the other parties success. So what if they have more homes? They still lost a home with many memories with family etc, just like Paris Hilton said.
Preach it, these million dollar homes and they are straight complaining, saying what happened. Greed happened. Firefighters doin this out the goodness of their heart. Wicked will always burn
There is more than the million dollar houses burning. Animals, disabled individuals, homeless people, as well as the people that actually provide and maintain most of these mansions and are nanny's are impacted. Only the destruction of expensive homes is televised because the suffering of the lower class is normalized
The thing is, this couldn’t be some random bush fire, the weather is always between 60-50F, 5his had to be caused by someone, may god be with those people all🕊️
Excess is revealed for its true worth. Were it the homeless in danger, this story would be buried beneath the segment discussing the affected animals. We care because of money. And so the money will soon be taken away.

@@cowsagainstcapitalism347 Really? Well, I think we are all capable of looking up the word Tragedy in a Dictionary! Tragedy by ACTUAL definition is Quote "An event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or catastrophe." However, I am certain a Dictionary would not be one of the things those poor folks caught up in this particular horrific tragedy would think to grab onto as they fled for their lives. So, let's keep our eye on the ball shall we? If that is conceivably possible any more! I am sure it is extremely difficult for certain folks though. I lived in LA for years…this is why LA needs to be built with all concrete. None of central LA will ever be touched by fire. In the suburbs around LA there is unregulated brush and greenery that turns dry when there is a drought and fire just spreads like crazy
I know that might sound like a practical solution, but cities desperately need green space for the health of the residents and wildlife. I'm sure they can find some other solutions to better manage dry brush, because that's obviously important.
@@kansasgoldilocks Do you guys see the news? Many concrete buildings were burned down all the same.
@@kansasgoldilocks But but but... Houses are burned down but the trees around them are untouched, standing and GREEN! It makes no sense.
It's pretty hard to catch a live tree on fire. It takes a while, and a fast moving fire storm may not stay long enough to do the job.
@@commonsense126 I ride mountain bikes in the Santa Monica Mountains and I have seen the aftermath of many wildfires. I know how it should look. This fire is very different.
The Mayor of Los Angeles ,and the Governor need to be indicted for criminal negligence!!
Yes they atarted global warming, i beg you all to refine your critical thinking.
Give specific reasons when you make ridiculous accusations. What “criminal negligence”? If anything you climate change deniers should be held responsible!
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read today
Well, I'm not fan of the mayor, but this issue predates this mayor by decades.
In all honesty, how possible is it for the fire department fight 100 feet high flames traveling at the speed of hurricane winds, or faster than you can say hi ? Just how possible? Explain to me the same way you'd explain to a toddler.
A great hug from Italy 💔
Can’t forget the wildfire fighters. They barely get recognized
They’re the true heroes. I can’t imagine how tired they are
They barely get paid either.😢
Wonder how many hotshot crews are there

Why don't you remember of Gaza people suffering since 2010
If I was in America I would be very scared
And what does innocent citizens have to do with it?
How can you be happy about it?
Congrats for making a stupid comment. Imagine thinking that people can't be concerned about multiple things.
People seeing their homes literally go up in flames and you expect them to stand there and be like, "ah yeah. Can't be mad that I have no home anymore and that I have to flee for my life from these fires. People in Gaza are dying!"
Dumb comment. Civilian is a civilian. Don’t matter Palestinian or American.
It’s a mercy of god for those who were out of humanity against Palestine. May You feel the truth by these incident.
In the case of detached small homes like in Altadena, I wonder if there are fire-proof fabric that you can cover the entire house with to prevent embers from burning it to the ground!!
I wondered the same thing. I mean if some company came out with something like that, it would be $$$!
Right! 😩
Yep. I moved from there a year ago. You are expected to turn off your own gas.
Also should be mentioned that the aircraft that was damaged is from Quebec as part of firefighting services Canada has sent to help LA
Yep. Canada sent that amazing craft to help us almost a year ago when we were burning up in Kern County. I moved here from Los Angeles, then it caught fire. We were spared. My old neighborhood is still standing aotm.
That’s just a small sample of what is happening in Palestine where they have lost not only homes but children and families I hope u will feel them after this. God shall be with you
We, all Muslims in the world, are very, very happy to see and hear about the disaster that is happening in America. This is proof that Allah does not sleep and avenges what America has done to the Palestinian people without the Palestinian people responding directly. American aid to Israel US 22 billion dollars. but Allah responded with a figure far more than that to unjust countries such as America and Israel. thank God 🤲.
The nerve of some folks putting Drones in the air in a time like This ! If that plane were to crash it would have caused yet another fire . THAT PERSON needs to be charged ASAP!

The prayers of the children of Gaza will haunt you forever.
The wind nobody can control but the fact that people doesn’t have insurance because the government failed to meet the requirements, has no water, reduced the fire department. This is criminal negligence.
The insurance companies and all other mega corporations are the government, making laws that suit them:
Merchants and master manufacturers are, in this order, the two classes of people who commonly employ the largest capitals, and who by their wealth draw to themselves the greatest share of the *public* consideration. .
Adam Smith, An Inquiry into the Nature and Cause of the Wealth of Nations, (1776),
Ch.

Bigggggg questions
ember not amber
This was started by a person, who was caught, it wasn’t due to forest mismanagement, it wasn’t even in the forest area.
We support the fire and we believe it has the right to defend itself 🙂🙂

The winds that are feeding oxygen to these fires have slowed down greatly but all the fires MUST be completely not burning by Sunday when the winds will again pick up. If you don't know how dangerous these winds can be, ever hear of a plane leaving the ground with NOBODY in it?
This is a curse of innocent people.Nature has done justice.
We just gave eight billion dollars to Israel to deliberately inflict this kind of holocaust on trapped families. It's not only morally sickening, but when will we see our own tax dollars used for Americans?
That's just protecting investments there, Israel makes them more money than what is given to protect those investments while in war. Of course they're going to protect their interests there.

The interpretor for the la mayor did not seem to be very good, but there was not enough to tell. Why can't we get good interpretors?
Yeah I was thinking that aswell. So many words were said but very few hand gestures were displayed 😅
4 things i think on that are they gonna do in a fire tornado:
1.Move to a diffrent country.
2.Evacuating to airplanes or ships.
3.asking other countries to help stop the fire.
4.Tring to stop the fire without any help from other countries.
Witch one do you think there gonna do because idk?
Don't blame the drones NBC, blame the Governor, Mayor, and Fire Chief for their absolute lack of competence as the city burns.
Does Norway have a similar climate to LA? Genuine question
@@KrispyChicken7 No, which means that California should have been much more prepared.
I grew up in California when the forests were managed. Every spring we'd see the crew out doing controlled burn of underbrush. Then California decided that it was not necessary (because it cost a lot of money), and went for a more natural approach. Just fyi.
@@commonsense126 Exactly.
As noticed, the water tanks and reservoirs were left empty irresponsibly before the fires

It's a good thing they banned plastic straws.
That has nothing to do with the fires and not banning it wouldn’t have prevented this.
Actually, yes it is. The creation of plastic uses fossil fuels, which contribute more than three quarters of greenhouse gases. The worsening wildfire crisis in California over the last three decades has been directly linked by scientists to climate change.

There is more than the million dollar houses burning. Animals, disabled individuals, homeless people, as well as the people that actually provide and maintain most of these mansions and are nanny's are impacted. Tragedy is by definition unpredictable, unlikely and unexpected.
@@cowsagainstcapitalism347 Really? Well, I think we are all capable of looking up the word Tragedy in a Dictionary! However, a Tragedy by ACTUAL definition does NOT have to be 'unpredictable, unlikely or unexpected'. It is clear that they would rather seemingly waste their time giving outlandish & ridiculous responses to others sending heartfelt condolences. Also, they obviously seem to be too busy reading Dictionaries with the WRONG definition of a key word, than actually spending their time productively comforting others & trying to actually help. In other words, this is neither the time nor the place for anything else!! Or does that make too much sense? Unreal!!
Oh, look! California now has the urgency to help and house the 'homeless.'
