1) The team has more synergy.
2) Superman, while being the most durable and strongest and perhaps the singularly most powerful overall is not so the point where he completely eclipses the rest of the team, even the heavy hitters who really should be at the absolute least 70 percent as strong, durable, and powerful overall as he is. IE, the balance between the characters is better.
3) The threat they're fighting, IE, the villain, is something that no one member has good odds of defeating on their own. Stale mating and holding back for a time, yes, but not totally defeating without help. IE, the villain is tough compared to all the members of the team put together and it's only with all their powers and abilities combined that they manage to defeat him, so, when he actually is defeated, the victory doesn't feel cheap like it is in Justice League where Superman makes both his team and the villain irrelevant winning actually feels... earned. Sure, there was some scary moments along the way and some mistakes were made and there are some problems with the movie as a whole, but here, when Darkseid is defeated it feels triumphant and like all the heroes, even Superman, had to sweat quite a bit and are REALLY glad that it's over... for now.
Because they can do whatever they want to do in animation. There are no limits besides time and fillers aren't a thing.

Splintering off from 2013's The Flashpoint Paradox, War had the challenging task of introducing the younger New 52 versions of DC's heroes. The film also tried to establish Darkseid while serving as an origin story for the Justice League. With a lot to do and not much time to do it in, War focuses primarily on action, but arguably shines the brightest during its more character-driven moments. Cyborg's fateful encounter with a Mother Box is a highlight, while Green Lantern and Batman's interaction brings a touch of levity to the film. War shows why these characters are worth following individually while also hammering home the appeal of the Justice League.

Zack Snyder's Justice League takes inspiration from many comics. One of them is New 52's Justice League which features a nearly identical lineup of heroes coming together after the Parademons attack. This was also the direct inspiration for another universe: the DC Animated Movie Universe.
I love this whole fight scene because the League had to work hard to earn this win. And it was a league win...not a win for Superman with the League cheerleading for him. It took them all to defeat Darkseid.

Jeremiah Calle well no comic book wise Doomsday has beaten Darkseid, but Doomsday main ability is Adapting to what ever killed him, seeing how sups beat him with brute strength Darkseid wouldn’t be able to do anything to him
@Jeremiah Calle Yes, they recently did a Death of Superman movie in this continuity. And sure enough, Doomsday pretty much flattens the rest of the League with only Superman able to go toe to toe with the monster.

I certainly believe if a certain Amazon and Scarlet speedster had helped Superman, they could’ve easily exerted that same amount of force needed to snap his neck by working together.

Any substance can be compromised if hit at a high enough speed. The Flash might not have super-strength, but his speed makes his punches much stronger. His Infinite Mass Punch could probably damage Darkseid more than Superman's hits
