Day 8 of asking Beelz to do the Predator run: Just to put into perceptive of how long Beelz hasn't done Predator run, 4 big patches has been released in these 2 long years. He didn't do the Predator run when Inscription got a major overhaul. He didn't do the Predator run when Skulls received a major balance changes. He didn't do the Predator run when Dark Mirror update dropped. He didn't do the Predator run when Big Mythology pack got dropped. And doing a Berserker run, very similar skull to Predator? Before our boy Predator himself? Go into corner Beelz!

This was super chill to watch honestly. I also wanted to ask would you ever consider making guides for acts 4, 5 and maybe even hard mode and act 6. I was still able to use your old guides and I started two weeks ago so I would say those are still great. I'm on Dark Mirror 9 and I have to say it's definitely because of your videos so thanks!!
As someone who is suffering through Base Game(had to restart cause Save was borked). This feels so weird to see. I can barely make it to Act 2 without dying to Adventurer or Boss lol. Thanks Beelz!
Now that you did a run without taking silent cries, you should be good to take it every run again for a while!
Gatekeepers will try to say otherwise, but this game is freaking hard! Just clearing it once on baby mode for the first time took me a couple of days when I first bought the game. And the learning curve feels a little smoother now, I'm in my third day of hard mode I've conquered difficulty 4 and only lost two runs so far.
So anyone beginning at this game and for some reason reading this comment: Hi! Hope you're having fun! But most importantly it takes a while to get to the point where normal mode feels easy, and you absolutely don't have to rush it. The main point of this game and absolutely any game out there isn't to win, it's to have fun.
I feel like normal might be a bit too much, lmao, those bitches MELTED. Maybe like, DM5 or something? There's probably a sweet spot where low-tier builds are possible but tough and mid-tier ones aren't a TOTAL steamroll.
Though tbh my preference would still be to just get more rig-y when you're doing lower tier kinda runs. Poison's not very good, so fuck it, start with the two best poison items, and/or a huge bone fragment head-start or something. There'll probably still be some runs that flounder but... idk, I still like seeing that stuff? Like is full-poison-focus dogshit EVEN WITH the best items, the buffed 4 inscription, and the best Skul bone? Damn, I'm glad I got to see it.
Of course, that doesn't account for if it's absolutely miserable for you to have to play it lmao, I don't know just how much psychic damage you take from those kinda runs.
Yeah I can't do normal runs anymore, the extra little doo dads you get in dark mirror runs just makes the game feel so much more controlled/less limiting.
I would love if before they put skul in retirement, that they do two things:
1. In mirror runs make a scailing attribute for status effects (example starting at DM 5, every iteration past that gives an 5/10/15/20/25/30% dmg boost to magic and/or physical). OR when you have enough inscription for at least two status ailments (Arson/Absolute 0, or Stun/Poison as examples) they grant a special synergy. Example everytime you stun you deal 5%(2% for bosses and heroes) of an enemies health with poison. Another example everytime you burn someone who was frozen, or you freeze someone who was burning, the enemy gets a debuff called freezer burn, which makes every action they take, take slightly longer (so an enemy doing an attack animation will do the animation slower, and enemy casting a spell will take slightly longer to finish).
2. Have the dark mirror items allow you to get any skull and any 1 starting item. PC players can use mods as you have shown to make these manufactured runs possible, but my niece who I got into the game got it on the switch, and gets a bit impatient trying to wait for some of the legendary only skulls to drop (she likes gambler). They can even make it a slightly hefty quartz cost so people don't just brute force with 1 skull every time.

Also no annoying shields on the pillars! You really gotta appreciate how much easier normal mode is compared to even the lower difficulties of hard mode but especially on hm10 when they throw everything and the kitchen sink at you!! 😂😂😂
Who remembers when master fighter just had a flat fat damage boost when around fewer then two enemies?
Beelz spun the wheel and lost on the pog of greed roulette but at least it was funny, even if it's just beelz luck slapping him in the face! 😂
Beelz, I hope you can forgive me cause I've been pulled to the dark side.. my new favorite skull is lethal speed genie. Invisible knife, misfortune, blood drunk sword and gunpowder completely screen clears.. all his skills are both defensive and offensive. Plus the fixed his dash! He's mobile as hell and doesn't get clipped by everything!
Most status affect aren't that good but heracles with poison did let me beat dm5 and or 6. I think i only had 500%+ physical damage.
Legendary besrserker looks good, but i prefer unqie version, he looks more coller with fur on his amor and how he wields his sword. Compared to legendary he's below inuqie for me.

I always forgot how much more annoying they made the sisters fight after the update. Now look at this fight after Ive been in DM for so long, it's literally child's play compare to the DM version xD

Yes Berserker....... man I love Berserker skull but it would be fun and cool if there is a reskin mod for him just turning him into Guts, like his rare form would be him when he's still in the band of the hawk or when he goes out hunting apostles, and legendary is him with the Berserker armor, I just want to see him in that black cloak and the Berserker armor when transforming, it would fit perfectly on him
I'm currently still working on hard mode 10 and it's just ridiculous 😭 like I probably have attempted 8 or 10 runs tonight and it seems like if you just don't get a really good start with strong items in the first act then the run is doomed and you won't do enough damage. I finally got all the way to the hero earlier with mage and warlock only to die halfway through the second phase because he just has too much health😔

I like the simple normal runs, but imo hard 0 is more fun cause You can scale builds more. Btw i would love a mummy run with the mod that let s you spam auto attacks without destroying your hand

Honestly Hard Mode 0-3 are about the same level of normal mode.
They don't feel particularly harder. Sure there's some extra enemies and some different bosses but it feels more less like the same experience to me.
I miss the modded items like the quindent, the orcs club, the bone wings, and the brass knuckles, i mean ik their modded items, but they feel like they belong to the game in a sense, like there not insanely overpowered(besides the quindent which is a meme item) buuut i mean they were fun without ruining the feel of the game

You should rig an op poison run. I did. To be honest, I have no idea if it was just my damage %, but the speed that things died on hard 10 was nuts.

i will say on one of my runs on console i got the warlock and came with the meteor and beam two of my favs i went into the first adventure fight dropped a fully charged meteor that one shot that fight dropped one on yiggs and took half his life first form yeah that was fun i managed to snag the ring on that run

I don’t remember if you found this but I accidentally found a secret in the shop area after feeding the cat and I didn’t know if this was something that would be important later in the run.
You need that secret spot + 5 more to unlock the secret boss fight at the end of Mirror runs.

When you leave a treasure room without breaking an item, the last item on the right always breaks. You can see the graphic of it being broken as you go into the next room.

Hey Beelz, I want to ask you about the “Broken World” achievement. His do I get it? It says “First Dark Mirror Destroyed,” but I’ve already beaten DM 9 and I still haven’t gotten this achievement. I even went back to beat DM 0 again but I still don’t have it. Please help.
I'm not entirely sure what's gone wrong for you. But I've had some similar issues. Apparently I'm one of the 3% of players who never got the achieve for finishing Gun training in Dave The Diver.
Best I could suggest is to Verify the games files and see if the update helps. Or a quick reinstall. In Steam (I'm assuming Steam) Right click Skul - Properties - Installed Files - Verify.
If you're not on Steam then I REALLY don't know. If nothing else works I recommend heading over to the Skul discord and asking in the bugs section.

I've always loved the First Hero as just him, because it makes him feel like the hero, especially when he goes Golden Hero mode, like a desperate last stand against your strength.
In every way, Skul's dad is a true pleasure to fight against.
For that matter, Berserker in DM10 is really tough unless you go Revenge. On that note, thanks so much for this video! I started playing Skul again, and going normal mode really is such a nice break from DM10 and the secret boss and the emperor.

Grab Shield or Ghoul. If you take Ghoul try and get Revenge or Antique on him. As a secondary try to find some decent damage dealing items. Preferably some Courage/Arms ones but others that contribute to damage are fine (like the Golden Sword etc). Quintessence doesn't matter too much but if you can find Slime it'll make life a lot easier. You don't need/want to swap off of him much at all. Just keep attacking and dodge what you can. Focus on getting him upgraded to legendary asap. Once he's legendary continue what you're doing. If you get too hurt or you reach the end of a room and you're hurt, eat the meat to heal. If the green recovery bar starts to go down because you haven't been hit in a sec, eat anyway. Best not to waste it. Ghoul is pretty tanky on his own, so hopefully this helps.
Next up is Shield. For him you can go with Fortress or Antique. Literally everything about building him is similar to Ghoul except obviously no healing. You can swap between him and your secondary as much as you want because Shields swap is very good. Spam those skills and abuse the shield. The runs will be slower, but a more cautious and defensive approach often ends better.

The sisters are one of the games first true walls that block players for a while. It's always been that way. Act 2 in general is a decent bump up from act 1. I've got my guide on fighting the sisters that should still be mostly relevant and helpful if you need to use it

@@Beelz55 thanks I appreciate it. The only way I was able to get past it was getting lucky with a frosty/bomber cheese combo. But then I got merked by golden dad. I’m just trying to take it patiently and actually learn the game. All the guides you have put out have been a lifesaver
