really nice, same truck as mine so even better...will put specific dividers in mine so the battery cables wont touch anything else and false bottom for a couple of fire arms
cool video Seth. I plan on doing one for my 2014 Silverado and you gave some help ideas. it would be nice to have a lockable space in my truck for larger items. the glovebox and the lockable center console are nice but not really big.
Seth, Great and ingenious build! I'm going to build one for my Ford F-250 truck and try wrapping it in carpet and, as you suggested, use 1/2" ply. I need a heavier one to hold hitch balls and other equipment. Thanks for sharing this with the RUclips community. Oh, I just clicked|"Subscribe!" . . . Barry
Without a pretty flat floor it would definitely be more difficult. Using cardboard to make a template and figure out dimensions really helped. Thanks for watching and leaving me a comment.
I do alot of woodworking and your video tells me I can do this also. Have you found it holding up alright, or would it be better made from 1/2" ? Also have thought about making it lockable if you turned it into a gun case?
Jeff Pauly it is holding up well for me. I will say that i don't get in it a lot. By that I mean, I get straps out once in a while and occasionally get out the umbrella or ice scraper. If you plan to put heavy stuff in there, I would go with 1/2". You could definitely improve on my design to accommodate your needs. To make it lockable I would fully enclose it and somehow secure it to the truck so it can't be removed without unlocking it. One improvement I've thought about is adding 2x2 to the front corners and then cutting them round to better match the seat profile but that's cosmetic in my opinion. Thanks for the comment and enjoy making your own box.
It couldn't hurt. My buddy never used the ties and his doesn't move. I thought it could be an issue when I installed mine. Maybe if the bottom was flat and smooth it would move more.
@@Airshootingpractice it is not fixed to the floor. Just a couple loops of paracord that limit it from moving forward. Friction with the carpet holds it.
great presentation, short, no useless elaboration, saved my time, love it
Very nice. I've been thinking about doing that also but now that I've seen someone actually do it. Inspires me to go ahead and make one myself. Thanks
nice job bro! Just brought an 06 extended, I figured a smart youtuber figured out a good way to make the space up...:)...Thanks for the upload!

Thanks gave me some ideas for my sierra
Looks really good. The textured black paint provides a nice, professional look.
Fast forward 6 years and the $170 plastic pre-made under seat storage box is cheaper than just buying the plywood, lol..:
Nice job. I saw one wrapped with black carpet. Both look good.

edit: helpful ideas.

U done well building. I'm gonna do the same. Thank u for the video.
I like your idea. I can't justify also spending $179 so I should give it a try
highly recommend this purchase
Really nice and lots of space!
Great video
6 years a go that wood was cheap. Now it's more cost effective to just buy a plastic under seat box. 😆
Good job . thanks for the video.
Nice DIY job! I'm finding lots of DIY, blacksmiths, etc., from Papa Texas' vids, very interesting. Subbed!
Great job. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to do this.
That was awesome you could sale these id lot rather give you 8p bucks for this than 179 for those plastic ones online
I gave the second one to a friend and it fits his truck which is a 2009 Silverado 2500.
How much did it cost to make
Great video! Why would anyone give this a thumbs down??

My 2012 3500hd seems to have less space due to uneven floor under seat, dang it..

Trabajo muy bueno 🍻

Thanks Seth, I have found with many past projects that later use I find a better way or addition, your corner idea sound duable. Thanks again
How much did it cost and should put lids on it
Do you think sticking large patches of hook velcro to the bottom of the box would also work?
It couldn't hurt. My buddy never used the ties and his doesn't move. I thought it could be an issue when I installed mine. Maybe if the bottom was flat and smooth it would move more.
Did you fix it to the floor?

cute ...
can you give me a blue print ?
Sorry, I didn't make plans.
Seth Weidner ah it’s alright . haha i really like this idea
