    Very glad that you mentioned how the lever blades don’t rattle. I finally ditched my rattling Shimano brakes. 😄

      If you have the entry level Shimano's (the ones I had). These are more powerful as an added bonus! Oh, and the levers are very light and it's easy to to brake with one finger. I have Magura MT Sports front and back now. I'm still super happy with them.

      The reason why I want to ditch my Shimano brake

      If I were purchasing brakes again, I would get the Magura MT4 instead of Magura Sport. The primary reason is that the MT4 brake comes with a Magura‘s performance brake pad, while the MT sport comes with the comfort brake pad. There’s a big improvement in stopping power with the performance brake pad.

    nice overview! I think you overlook formula as a very viable brake option as well.
    Furthermore I would have loved a closer look at the package contents to see if they come with new seals for the case of shortening the line as some do.

      Thank for your feedback. I'm not actually aware of any budget formula options so I'll have to look into those. Each brake (I've purchased two Magura MT Sport brakes) came with two olives and two barbs for shortening the hose.

      @@underbikedoverconfident1142 I wouldn't say they have a true budget option, as far as i recollect you refered to brake manufacturers in general, i may be wrong.
      The formula cura are a great brake for 200€ for the pair. So i would say they offer premium style and quality for less exorbitant prices
      Thanks for the info i was a little worried I'd need to order some.

    I'm magura bonkers, still haven't had any products 😃 they make a beautiful looking fork I've seen on ebay uk, has a double arch instead of the usual one strengthening bridge between the lowers,these are in my price range at least 🙏🇬🇧

      I've never seen that fork before it's an interesting design. I can safely this brake is the best upgrade I've done. The brake has modulation (you squeeze the lever and it pushes back to stop you hitting the lock out point) I know some people don't like that. I don't have a bad word to say about them. I'm buying another one soon for the front.

    I have had the brakes for a year and I can say that I expected more in braking as it is with tektro. This model stops smoothly and not directly, they are also inconvenient to fill and bleed, as well as the fact that only organic pads are sold for this model. I am considering switching to Shimano Deore XT M8120

      Firstly all MT4,5,7,8 two piston pads fit this model. You can get fancy racing pads if your heart desires (I'm running metallic pads). Secondly, you are right that these brakes have modulation, they do not bite straight away like shimano's. I have a super cheap bleed kit and use shimano oil and I can get a perfect bleed every time. Finally, deore xt brakes are awesome and will bite straight away. This sounds that the brake you want SLX are also a good option too.

    Would the brake lever brake easily because it is plastic rather than metal because i want to change from tektros to this brake

    • @underbikedoverconfident1142
      @underbikedoverconfident1142  Год назад

      It isn't cheap plastic but I guess it's possible. The good news is they are replaceable unlike the metals ones that break.

      @@underbikedoverconfident1142 I have the same version as you have here they are nice so far after a year. You would not want them braking because you can break yourself which is my worry.
