    Saw arrived yesterday ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and today I cut about 3/4 cord of wood with it. Make sure you get an extension chord that is at least 12 gauge wire, minimum. This is my first electric in about 10 years, and things sure have improved. The self-sharpener works great, and it just kept cutting through some pretty decent logs. Wear your eye protection, and ear protection. Excellent saw.

    Thank you for giving us an intelligent, well done video. No wasted time or needless talking. Perhaps the price comparison and warranty would also be helpful. I would like see battery saws demonstrated in cold climate like -15C. Our Canadian winters keep me from switching to battery.

      All you need to do is keep the battery in your house or heated garage until use. In your truck on the way, or in a bag with a couple hand warmers. I live in northern Minnesota. Once you put it to use it generates its own heat. You could use one in -20 if you start warm.

      I ended up buying a Makita 2x18 volt (36 volt) arborist saw. I used extensively this past winter without issues. You are correct, the battery does warmup with use. I would say that unless you can use an existing platform like Makita or Dewalt etc, the price point to purchase extra batteries makes the cost of battery saws prohibitive. Since I have a variety of Makita tools, batteries aren’t an issue.

    On the side by side 20 x 20 you angled the Echo significantly compared to the Stihl or Husqvarna which effectively gave it a smaller diameter. True, the echo cut a continuous thickness but the other two, though starting out thinner, had to cut through a thicker center section.

    Good test. I need to go back and review which one consistently stalled with the 2 kg overload (Edit: Husky!)
    The tapered shape of Stihl's bar puts it at a disadvantage in bore cutting because the length of cutting surface increases with the depth of cut. Non tapered bars don't do this.

    • @JanMaesOutdoorTraining
      @JanMaesOutdoorTraining  4 года назад +1

      Rusu, thanks for your question The reason for using this type of battery is to have a fair compare between the brands. AP200 Bli 200 and 2P battery have the same/similar engergy density (Wh = what provides the power.) If I would have used the BLI300 It would be like comparing a 40cc chainsaw versus a 60cc chainsaw. A BLI 300 will provide you more power, but it will increase also the weight and if you look to the lifetime of a higher capacity battery in combintion with a Quick charger it will decrease the lifetime or number of charging cycles you can get out of this higher capacity battery.

      Eddie Robles they are the closest for obvious direct comparison not only for work but also for charging as they hold nearly the same energy.

    • @JanMaesOutdoorTraining
      @JanMaesOutdoorTraining  4 года назад +1

      @@eddierobles3129 look to the answer from Lokanas, the AP200, BLI200 and 2P are having approximately the same Wh ~185Wh that makes is a fair compare in terms of performance and charginge time.

    • @danielstraka17
      @danielstraka17 4 года назад +2

      @@JanMaesOutdoorTraining ... For the best comparison in performance you need the best battery available for each chainsaw because some of the models may electronically reduce power output to save batteries with low capacity. The same principle we can see in electric cars. Bigger battery pack means more kW. You will surely feel the difference in performance between AP 200 and AP 300S inserted in Stihl MSA 200 ( or even more in MSA 220 ).

  • @Deniskamir

    Battery charging time for different battery and different power supply ?? Husqvarna have several power supplies and his bettery line has more capacities battery .

    • @lokaniukas
      @lokaniukas 4 года назад

      The point of the test is to compare the same class saws with comparable amount of energy onboard. Exaggerated: You wouldn’t compare MS 170 vs 572XP, right?

    • @Deniskamir
      @Deniskamir 4 года назад +1

      @@lokaniukas but the line of accumulators are different . So the capacity of Stihl battery is 4Ah , Husqvarna has 5.2Ah bl200 if I remember for same position in line. And Husqvarna had different power supplies qc80, qc330, qc500. The power of different power supplies are different and speed of the charge is also different. If you want to quickly charge , simple please buy more powerful supply .

    • @lokaniukas
      @lokaniukas 4 года назад

      @@Deniskamir energy capacity is measured in Wh. You can rewire for example 10 cells any way you want, it will be able to emit the same Watt power in one hour.

    • @Deniskamir
      @Deniskamir 4 года назад

      @@lokaniukas it can be Wh, it can be Ah . Doesn’t metter. Stihl mark in Wh, Husqvarna use Ah. The formula is W=IU, there W -power, U - voltage , I - current. So if you want to transfer Wh to Ah you can make Wh/U, where U=36 V ( voltage of the Husqvarna and Stihl battery).

    • @lokaniukas
      @lokaniukas 4 года назад +1

      @@Deniskamir every maker states Wh on the battery as it is mandatory energy amount measurement. So do electric vehicles (kWh). I am perfectly aware of how it is calculated/measured. Note, 100/200/300 for those manufacturers shows the number of cells 10/20/30 hence the energy capacity increase. X/S means the alternative type of cells.

    I have a 535iXP that I bought new and it has bee a TERD since day 1. I can only make a few cuts (always less than 10) and then it flashes the overheat signal and won't work again for 20 mins or so. Does not matter if it's summer or winter. Brought it to a dealer when it was still under warranty and they blamed the battery, not the saw. Took them almost a YEAR to get me a new battery (factory back order) now I am out of the warranty period, and the saw still won't do more than 10 cuts. Friend has one and his works great. Swap his battery for mine and his saw is still good and mine sucks. Husqvarna customer support won't help! They just refer me to a dealer. Dealer won't help because its out of warranty. Bought this new and have literally made less than 100 cuts with it. Total junk and even a "PRO" saw like this is no good and si I wasted a ton of money and Husq won't stand behind their product. Buyer Beware. By the way, I have a lot of other Husq equipment that has done well for me but this was a total waste. First time I splurged on Pro and just got hosed.
