I have the 220 C myself, running it on the 300-S battery, it is an impressive little saw. I cut through some 16" white Oak with it, yes it will bog down if you try to go too fast, but with a little restraint, it eats through the log very quickly on its own. It seemed to be in the same league as my 455 Husqvarna (3.5 hp), and is easier to deal with too. I am a fan, Stihl seems to build a good quality product.

@@sirvozelo1 I have the MSA 300 since it is available in my area 😉 A awesome piece of technique 👍 With the big battery it is a killer for all small petrol saws.
If you are like me just a homeowner you going to end up with same situation has I am, the 220C was the first one I buy, but for homeowner you just need the 161T and the MSA300. Now be ware the MSA300 is very very powerful but for full power you need the AP500 and go slow on it or you be out of battery short, in my experience the battery is not up to the saw I hope stihl come up with a better battery.

I have the msa140 to carry on my Quad bike in the mountains of British Columbia ..it's a perfect saw for that purpose , blow downs and trail maintenance ..I love the saw ..my gas saws haven't been used since I bought the electric saw and 1 spare battery ..it's such a fun saw to use ..ive been going out hunting for trails to fix up
Love the video and the chainsaw. If I was lucky enough to be in a position similar to yours I would get an all electric quad bike from Eco Charger ATV in Devon. It's a 72 volt quad with a riding range of about 25-30 miles dependent on terrain and driving style/towing etc. I would then get a 72 to 220 volt inverter so I could charge the chainsaw batteries, off the quad's batteries, whilst still out in the woods or wherever I was. Same goes for all the all electric equipment I would like to use. I would also go for Solar PV panels so I could be totally fossil fuel free even from the grid.
To get the full potential from this saw - you definitely need to be using the AP300s battery. It does not get full power from an AP300 battery - Hope this is helpful 👍

Could you roughly estimate, if you have done the job with a equivalent petrol engine chainsaw, how many fuel tanks would you have used? thanks and keep up the good work!
They should make the back pack battery just a module to load the AP batteries into. That way you can slide two or 3 of those in, control the weight or take them out so there is not a cord for applications that the cord gets in the way of.
Where did you see the information about a difference in power between the 300s and any other stihl battery? I can only see the same voltage and different capacity? Is Stihl hiding something from me?
And if you measure up the cost of the battery and the electricity to charge it continually over it's entire life against the cost of petrol and two stroke oil to do the same amount of work? which is cheaper then?
.No one will ever convince me to buy battery-powered tools.I have had experience with several battery-powered tools and I can honestly say that the batteries do not last long and these tools are weaker than gasoline-powered tools.

Very impressive 👍

If you think the MSA 220 C is impressive try the MSA 300, I have bout. Is like comparing a ford fiesta with mustang GT.

Which MSA would you recommend for smaller gardening work with primarily cutting branches thinner than 15 cm?
Do you cut any small firewood at home as well?

The 200 is a great pruner , and battery efficient with the narrow gauge
The 200 crosscuts brilliantly , but doesn't like ' ripping '

I guarantee you the cost of the electricity to charge the batteries was many times cheaper than the equivalent amount of petrol.

You can buy a belt with an AP battery pouch and power cord

Stihl don’t publish the power outputs of the batteries, but the 300s has definetly more power than the 300 for example.
What type of chain come with the saw and what chain did you use to do the video? Thanks
There are at least 3 different backpack batteries. Which battery did you have?
