      Welcome! We're across the road over in Liberty Park. There's a lot to love about being in our part of The Villages, as nice as the new areas are. We bought here last year, and like being a short cart ride from Lake Sumter Landing. Since our main clubs meet in Laurel Manor and Eisenhower, being here puts us right in the middle. Plus we love the nearby shopping on 466A.

    Interesting to hear comments from others. Maybe interview some folks in the older areas who have been there for quite a while as a contrast. Wonder what they think of the growth? From an outsider it seems like each area is just like small town living anywhere - with more amenities and activities than I’ve ever heard of! The overall size doesn’t seem to matter much. Love your videos, and this was a very intering topic. We have been here a year now, moved from the PNW, and it was the best move we have ever made. The weather is wonderful, even the summer steamers a fine if you time you activities. The activities are what makes The Villages an absolutly best choice to retire in. We live in Monarch Grove, which is adjacent to Linden. I would have asked another connectivity question; "What would you think of having golf cart connectivity over the turnpike via Warmsprings Ave. on the north side to connect to Bradford, Chitty Chatty and then over to Rohan" There is more than 14 feet of shoulder space crossing the turnpike on the north side that could easily be coneccted to Riverbend and the golf cart trail on the east side of the Turnpike. Perhaps that could be a whole other video. Anyway thanks for what you do. keep up the great videos and well keep watching.

My mother in law lives in The Villages now for a couple of decades and will soon be moving to Alabama to live with her youngest son so they can care for her better. She's a retired Police Officer and Private Detective. Anyway, we love her a lot. My husband and I are thinking of moving there since we already have some other family in Florida too. Only they live in Brevard County. We live at the Jersey Shore. My husband gets SSDI. Will that change any? We would have to sell our house up here first. Mom lives in Lady Lake if you are familiar or not. That's her mailing address. We love your dog! We have Ziggy. A little Pom Chi about 10. My husband calls him his little barnacle because he hardly ever leaves his side. Oh, and he likes a neighbor dog named Gizmo! Well, we enjoyed your videos. Thanks for all the information.

    The prison and quarry seems to be more of an obsession with those north of 44. Doesn’t bother any of us south of 44. There are many great villages here and it’s really what you make it. There is no “best village” in The Villages. Wherever you chose to live make the most of it and start by being a good neighbor. In my opinion it is easier moving to a new village because everyone is new and it’s more inclusive in that it’s easier to connect and start neighborhood groups like golf, Pickleball and more. The Villages is big and getting bigger, that’s a fact and that won’t change because people want to live here. If they build homes you will come and people keeping coming so they build. Each Village and the immediate area is basically your base of living and activities. But knowing there is much more beyond your base is a plus. We have the Polo, three squares, beautiful walking areas like the Sharon Rose or The Hogeye. What’s not to love. Jerry I live right across the isle on the mainland. Would have loved to say Hi. Linden has three sections to it - mainland, south Linden and the isle. Kinda funny for a small village 😊 Enjoy your new grand baby.

      I live in Fenney the prison have no clue it's even there. I have felt and heard the blasts. The first time it freaked me out the floor moved like a wave underneath me. The quarry has been there for decades it's not a threat. I lived in Virginia Trace first moved there June 2016. It used to be snowbirds it was crowded now it's crowded year round. I love that in Fenney I feel away from things. I only use my golf car to get the mail and it was nice to go more places in it. I had an issue with the a garbage truck sinking into the black top right in front of my home. Sinkholes are not that common like my issue it was a wash away. Our most traumatic thing recently was a neighbor was in a severe golf car accident she had a brain injury.

    As someone who has lived in The Villages for ten years, those who don't live here should realize the 2020 census was 130,000 and about 125,000 of those do not live in the new area south of SR 44. These questions about blasting and prisons, are only relevant to the new homes section. My Village is Tamarind Grove, and we are 15 miles from the Village of Fenney , which was the first village built in the new area south of 44. We are between the two newest squares, 3 miles from Brownwood Square which opened about 2013 and 3 miles from Lake Sumter Landing Square which opened in 2007, we are in the southern area of the established Villages and yet we are at least 10 miles from the new homes. We are also ten miles from Spanish Springs Square, the first one built in the early 90's. The Villages is very large, the established villages, which excludes the new homes, is 35 square miles. I remember watching a college football all-star game in 2004 on ESPN from the Polo Fields at The Villages, I thought that was probably the center of The Villages, they had 12,000 people in attendance. Actually the polo fields does hold many events but I live 8 miles from the polo fields and might go there once a year for something. To put that into perspective, the new homes area is about 20 miles from the polo fields.

I apologize to your viewers, because it is off topic. My husband wants to live near Disney and I am trying to convince him that the Villiages could possibly qualify. Are there trips and Disney clubs? Is there any interest in the amusement scene? Thanks, Ann

      You may want to consider a lifestyle stay. You can spend 4 to 7 nights in a Courtyard villa. They are nicely appointed with golf cart, bicycles, and you'll get movie tickets, show passes, and entrance to all the amenities such as the golf driving range, clubs etc. It's a really good way to find out what the villages is all about. Just contact a Villages sales center for information. It's more ($199/night) during the Winter, and cheaper ($99) from May to December.

    Sinkhole insurance doesn't cover your yard... just your house. I think the constant blasting could eventually fracture your underground sprinkler pipes thereby causing sinkholes.

    • @JERRYANDLINDA
      @JERRYANDLINDA  3 года назад +1

      Current Florida statue requires all personal and commercial property insurance policies to include catastrophic ground cover collapse. But that may not cover you should a sinkhole damage your property. Both types of coverage are defined below, with a comparison to help you determine your coverage needs based on your risk appetite.
      Catastrophic gound cover collapse definition
      Catastrophic ground cover collapse means the geological activity that results in all of the following:
      The abrupt collapse of the ground cover;
      A depression in the ground cover clearly visible to the naked eye;
      Structural damage to the building, including the foundation; and
      The insured structure being condemned and ordered to be vacated by the governmental agency authorized by law to issue such an order for that structure.
      Sinkhole definition
      Sinkhole means a landform created by subsidence of soil, sediment, or rock as underlying strata are dissolved by groundwater. A sinkhole may form by collapse into subterranean voids created by the dissolution of limestone or dolostone, or by subsidence as these strata are dissolved.
      Sinkhole loss means the structural damage to the building, including the foundation, caused by the sinkhole activity.
      Sinkhole activity means settlement or systematic weakening of the earth supporting such property only when such settlement or systematic weakening results from movement or raveling of soils, sediments, or rock materials into subterranean voids created by the effect of water on limestone or similar rock formation.
      Coverage Comparison
      Sinkhole coverage provides more comprehensive coverage than Catastrophic Ground Cover Collapse. If the property suffers foundation cracks or other damage caused by sinkhole activity, meaning it is still habitable but just needs repairs, it will be covered with sinkhole coverage.
      Catastrophic ground cover collapse coverage is very restrictive and must meet all four criteria listed above to qualify for a loss.
      Sinkhole coverage does not require the building to be condemned and ordered to be vacated for coverage to trigger.
      Both catastrophic ground cover collapse and sinkhole coverage are intended to ONLY cover the roofed and walled structures. They are not intended to cover cracked driveways, sidewalks, swimming pools or patio decks. They do not cover sinkhole activity on open land, parking lots, streets or roads or similar property that may serve a community.
      While you will save money on your premium without sinkhole coverage, you risk having to pay out of pocket for damages should sinkhole damage occur to your property.

    • @saundby
      @saundby 3 года назад +2

      None of the blasting they're doing is going to damage a sprinkler line. You're far, far more likely to damage it with ordinary gardening.

    agree, the sentence IT DOES NOT BOTHER ME, at nauseum. You wonder if this is an honest review of the place. If you were a home owner and your property value dependent on the continued growth of this place like a Ponzi tax scheme, wouldnt you brag. What they don't show you is, what 300K can buy, a cracker box. The only good advice was "do your home work" and I did , neh not for me. I want to be where young people are.
