Ren's play with syllable structure and grammar makes me GEEK OUT!!! I'm a speech/language pathologist so listening to Ren's lyrics (and Hardy's) make me super geeky excited lol. Ren's upper vocal register gives me chills too :).

I am glad you finally reacted to this. Hi Ren is full of so many references and the "she sells sea shells" line really falls flat if you don't understand it. Once you understand the references Hi Ren hits that much harder.
It’s also a dig at the fact that the founder of shell oil company started the company in the 1800’s by selling seashells

Money Game parts 1 & 2 are freaking awesome, Ren is so so talented and smart and his music is SO special and unique. His way with words, how he can rap, sing, play guitar, his rhymes, the way he just spits truths one after the other on songs like this one... One of my favourite artists, and he deserves the world. If you're exploring Ren again, can I nominate 'Ren & Sam Tompkins - Earned it /Mans World / Falling' - it's got 11million views, and is from a live busking performance from 4 years back. Both are extremely talented, but when Ren comes in around the 2 :30min mark to take over the vocals to James Brown, he hits it so note perfect it'll send shivers down your spine! It's a great contrast to the rapping side, and shows off the old worldly soul that is Ren and his myriad of influences.

Brilliant reaction, hitting all the right notes so to speak. Bardcore is one of the best genres I've ever came across, and it's a one man band! Mental. The guy almost transcends musical genius.
I appreciate the changes in flow also. I have some ADHD qualities and I think part of the reason I like Ren's music so much is that you never get bored with it. I know in classical music I enjoy fugues. Much of the time, I feel like my brain is on overdrive and the flow changes are like the best type of roller coaster.
I'm so glad that you've taken the advice and listened to the right order. I loved your reactions. I especially thought that you would like the Sell Water To a Fish reference for Fischtank Productions and how the She Sells Sea Shells reference ties back to Hi Ren. I love Ren's work and would love to see collaborating with some people that are slightly out of his normal comfort zone. In particular, I think that a collaboration with Lin Manuel Maranda would be mind blowing. I'm reluctant to even suggest a theme, but there are many Low Income, High Crime areas across all nationalities that both Ren and Lin Manuel seem to embrace in 1 way or the other. I think that a live production script that uses their natural accents to highlight the sameness of the problems we all face will be exceptionally well told if we locked those 2 in a room for a weekend. Perhaps all of the reaction influencers could jointly wisper into Lin Manuel's agent's ear?
Never heard of REN then HI-REN kept cropping up in reactions. i watched it & was drawn into this very different world of pure musical genius like you have said .i do not have any specific genre i stick to so if something is good and i like what i hear then im along for the ride and Ren has me riding that wave that is his own. ive just dug another one of his up " Diazepam" again its spot on.

Been listening to Ren for a little over a year now and I can only hope I can keep expanding that timeline of how long I've been listening to him.
