Boy was I ever intrigued when I saw the title to this video. Lol. I haven't tried to adjust my suspension either but I'd really like to learn about it and make some adjustments.
@DonsATVAdventures I really want you to try mine out. It has an annoying rattle when stopped and just idling plus it does have another noise when just taking off. Roland drove mine when it was brand new and he didn't think it was anything to worry about and I do have just short of 1500kms on it now with no issues. Plus I've done a lot of research and the majority of people say that the rattle is the primary clutch and it's normal for a cfmoto and the other noise is the clutch weights going into and out of position. A few other people told me to make sure it's not the primary bearing on the clutch??? I guess time will tell and hopefully you can take mine for a ride soon.
The clutch is clunky on take off. A kit is supposed to eliminate that. The suspension is fine to me and I'm never gonna try your rmax because I might not think my suspension is so fine after lol. What you don't know, you don't know. Good to hear your point of view Don.
oh come on Roland , i want you to try my Rmax...lol.... seriously i do though. On Jim's i could feel what felt like a vibration when decelerating....almost like i could feel the clutch rotating if that makes sense so im curious if yours is like that. Jim said he never noticed it but like you he had nothing to compare it to until driving mine.
oh i know , thats why i said for the difference in price compared to other models its definitely a decent machine. You are correct, suspension settings is crucial aswell
Once the low gear restrictions are removed it is gaster and handles better then most other brands of the same size motor. The reason for this is it weights less but still has trailing arm suspension. Just watch the MSC races. That's main street cycle. They are the main sales place, tunes, clutches and all. They are winning against 1000s and WINNING!!!
Your buddy needs to play with the compression and rebound . I started with turn right in and turn out 5 clicks on bottom and 7 on top for both . That will give him a base to start. That's where I started from because preset was ridiculous.
I noticed at the end of the video when you were looking at the front end that the tender springs were fully compressed and if the back tender springs were also fully compressed, this would cause a rough ride.
@@DonsATVAdventures, Was wondering what headset you use? I thought I seen you wearing a pair on one of your videos, my wife said she would like some so she can talk while we are driving. I drive a Honda Talon 1000x, you know, the SXS that lead the way (Derek’s saying)😅. Thanks for your time.
@gregstatler4713 lol..... the honda id usually following..lol.. we dont use the communicators anymore actually but when my wife and i both had atvs we used just a cheap set of helmet communicators we bought off Amazon actually. There were like $125 i think and worked awesome. Now a bunch of us use the Rugged Radios to talk between machines.
This machine will turn intoo a MONSTER WITH THE TUNE AND CLUTCH KIT. Really all you need is to remove the limitations on low gear. It only let's you rec to 6 grand and 20mph. Once your take that away it revs to 8 grand and tops out at 44mph. So you would be able to put it in low gear during this whole time and it would have taken away that rattle and vibration in the floor. You are making it hang around the engagement point and in high gear it's trying to spin the tires to fast. Low gear when you touch the it engages now and ready to climb or pull. But when it's stock like i.said only revs to 6.grand and 20 mph then the gas and motor cut out
you didn't hear what i said , the vibration is on deceleration with no foot on the pedal at all. Since this video his transmission has blown apart ..literally by something coming through the bottom of the transmission cases.

id like to try another 950 to see if the cvt has the same kinda feel or vibration in it when coasting to a stop or not

Hey Don I have z950 ho sport. Suspension adjustment is crucial for different riders. But the 950 price difference is quite a bit

Good review Don, now how about a Polaris RZR Pro Xp Review🙂
we can do that someday if you want !

the Rmax tender springs are the exact same way actually. I know what your saying though .
