This song becomes even more magical because of the guitar intertwining, just hearing those guitar sounds matching with each other at some point are so satisfying. I would say it is the core of the song basically.
that's so cool it reminds me of the kind of guitar intertwining king crimson did a lot in the 80s in songs like frame by frame ^^ Jonny is such a brilliant composer and masters the odd time signatures and polyrhythms so nicely
Taka, you are the beast that gives us some amazing guitar parts while The Smile's still working on the album! This is cool as hell, and some of the best Radiohead playing I've seen. Can't wait to see you and Joe make more covers!
You and your guitar are doing a great job! One more thing I will say is a game called doki doki literature club. A mod called doki doki exit music, has two music played by you. And it has become one of the most loved. You are very talented man.
Hey Taka, would you be able to send me midi data or the sheet music/notes for the true love tape loop piano from your and Joe's cover of pulk/pull revolving doors? Thank you for your incredible work and music!
@@FluffyMomo do you know ‘row row row your boat’? It’s a song where one person starts and then other people come in at different stages, singing the same phrase until the whole thing is kind of a syncopated mash up and then it finishes when the last person to come in completes the phrase. This part from Skrting On The Surface is kind of the guitar equivalent of that……I think, at least 😊
Johnny does all this with just a simple loop? Or is it a couple of loops? I don't hear where the loop(s) start and stop. I think I need a whole visual guide to understand this song. It's so amazing sounding though! Good job.
@@FluffyMomo ok so the right video is just the "loop" and the left its played diferent (faster?) it can be played with normal loop or it has to be the headrush one? Thanks
@@RubenSansaRivero This video is a reproducing of the studio version. On the studio version, they're overdubbing the guitars without Headrush. If you want to reproduce it with a Looper, you only record 3 measures with 11/16 notes, They play the 3 measures with 10/16 notes over it.
This is seriously the coolest.
My favorite part in this song😉

You are by far the best at deconstructing Jonny's parts, particularly the difficult ones. Excellent as always!
jonny would be proud, amazing
I hope so!

Frame by frame! I thought the same thing!
This being played with two guitarists reminds me of 80s King Crimson
Me too!
Incredible! Any chance for tutorial or tabs? It would be so great!
Please! Please! Please!
It's so beautiful.
@@qw9bp just watch his fingering and use your ear, not that hard and it will make you a better guitarist too
In 0:50 when the two guitars meet is just the everything
This is so hypnotic, had this stuck in my head all day.
The Starcaster sounds so good. Great playing Taka!

That is so so so cool, thank you for showing this. I thought my inner metronome was broken since I was always delaying the chord changes

This is beautiful Taka!
this the type of stuff to get lost in
So does the left just switch to playing 10/8 while the right stays 11/8? What's the trick?
I think you're correct👌
Well done this is awesome!!!
Sei il migliore!

The looping chords are just three(Dm C, and Bb). He starts the recording when Thom's start singing "Ahhhh".

Hello! Is your Starcaster from the 70s?
Yes, it is!
@@FluffyMomo well done! A lifetime instrument! Cheers!

Making loop with Headrush.
He doubled the parts or is it a delay
Doubled.
