Excellente, British has very long sword from 10 century but believe to be used for celebration/ queens. The antique don't pay good price on it. People always looking Military swords from 1 century.

Actually lovely, i like how you can see some error but you don't discard the whole blade. Truly a fantastic blade. I had a question, i'm making my own sword soon, what size is yours and what sort of grind did you give it?
Amazing build, love the subtle curve on the guard, the blade and hilt components flow well together. Very practical and aesthetic. What was the stock thickness of the 80crv2 steel that you began with, also, what kind of oil did you quench the sword blade in ? I have used some canola vegetable oil for my blades made from 1084, wondered if that would work with 80crv2.
I feel like he should have been brought on to be the prop designer and maker for the Netflix The Witcher we've got the steel sword now all we need is the silver sword

Wonderful project. Got to say though, if ever a bladed implement needed a full tang, then it is a battle used longsword.

The stock was 1/4 in thick. I generally use heated canola oil, works well for my purposes and is easily replaced.
