You have serious pedagogic skills. There's a lot of visual information on surfing. But you guys have the knowledge to put it simple. You are an inspiration. I'm truly thankful for you guys. Cheers from Portugal.

Clayton, the thing you've said about wave giving it's last energy to the surfer. That's went straight to my heart. So deep.
    Thank you!

I find the best way to relax is throw yourself over a close out. Your going to eat it eventually. Get it out the way and you realise its not as bad as you think. Your also ready for it. Works every time for me

The way my dad taught me to surf I had to learn to swim first (obviously) then he made me learn to body surf without fins, then he let me use fins and a bodyboard if I wanted to then he let me use his long board and when I could drop knee the body board on good waves and barreling shorebreaks. Then I got my first short board at around 12 but from there I had almost no fear when surfing even purposely surfed my "friends" board straight in to a dry reef shelf

If, as a learner, it looks shit even though you think you did something great, how good must it feel when you actually do good-looking surfing?!
