That would be the case for pretty much any blunt weapon as well. That's why, historically, they wore gambesons underneath maille and armor, to absorb blunt force. Maille is really only good against slices and somewhat good against stabbing, but it's practically useless against blunt attacks from hammers or maces. It's also why cars and motorcycle helmets are designed to crush upon impact, because even if they're indestructible, the energy from the impact has to go somewhere, and that somewhere is into its occupants/wearer.
If this was a game true to the series, then frodo would be the tank. I know he had armor on during the cave troll scene but still that would have crushed his ribs.
This is my main gripe with LOTR. How many times do I have to watch this dude stand there helplessly and get stabbed, but magically survive? Frodo is completely useless and had to be carried for the entire series by capable and competent people.
I get what you're saying but I feel like frodos real strength comes form his mind he is probably the weakest member of the Fellowship strenght wise but mentally he is up there day after day the rings keeps wearing him down whiseoirng in his ear, getting heavier and heavier it would be a taxing task for anyone to wear it as long as frodo did so i feel like you're discrediting him a bit but I can see where you coming from I did feel the same way the first time I watched the movies and still wish he did a little bit more ass kicking but to be honest he did get away from shelob and only really got hit by a surprise attack if he had a fair shot I think he could have pulled it of like Sam
The sheer force of impact of the troll would probably be enough to obliterate frodo's ribs.

@@famlrnamemssng Yeah my point was frodo should have died right then and there

He don't get stabbed in two towers huh. Nice XD
Ähm no mithril
Frodo's got too much plot Armour to actually die.

Frrr I always thought that I guess that’s why he fell to the floor though
You should play shadow of war!
Cave troll stabs frodo in the stomach with a spear.
Racking up Purple Hearts
"You are nothing to me Frodo"
I love it when he goes "boom baby!"
I ❤the part when Aragon butts in and takes down the bad guys!
Same!
When does aragon show his butt?
Poor Frodo... Good thing he has plot Armor.😅👍
Dude got stabbed 3 times
A real war veteran rn
Yo! That had to hurt!
Definitely
Nevermind, the timestamps are not on target.
What do you mean?
@@Iamtherealvicky I tried to comment a timestamp on the exact part where Frodo gets stabbed by the With-King but it's not on target.
@@BrianLyons315 ah ok. Thats alright I'll add timestamps

Book Frodo is way better, he actually fights back and only falls over towards the end of the books. Films did my boy dirty.
To be fair, he stands up for himself a bit more in the books.
